As usual, some legitimately constructive and appreciated criticism. However, also unusually dense with embarassingly self-serving criticism. Some that I just couldn't even bring myself to include in these results, some I included regardless. I won't specify. Let's just say that while I'm extremely proud of the majority of you for your hard work and honesty, I'm more than disappointed with a small handful. I guess that's my chance to be honest. Some of the pats on the backs from one friend to another were more like full fledged ass grabs. Uncomfortable to watch. Some people were pretty harsh based solely on personal opinion of someone else. That's not what we're about. The opinions I included in this are for the most part random. If the same opinion came up more than once, I tried not to let it repeat. Read through. Judge for yourself what's constructive. Nelson ---------- (1) On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and 1 horrible, rate EGOS & ICONS. Avg: 8.3 (2) With that being said, was this PPV better, worse, or on par with our last PPV? "I liked it better than Set It Off... if that was a PPV." "Every PPV I've read has been awesome, so I am saying on par, but that is not a bad thing by any means." "Better" "Better, by far. Way better. Best of the year, so far." "Worse" "Better than the last PPV, not quite as tight as Set it Off." (3) On a scale of 1-5, how would you rate each match? 5 being totally kick-ass and 1 meaning that it's something you'd expect to see on Sunday Night Heat. Feel free to add comments on why you liked/disliked the matches. Day 1 ------- [3] Sex Appeal & Tripp Shade vs. Travis Cade, Chad Allen, & Chris Gotham [2.7] Vile Vince Viper vs. Rob Magnum "It was Kevin Nash vs. Baron Von Rashke, yet still managed to entertain, a testament to Curt's awesomoscity." [3.2] Echo Dare & Cardiac vs. Infinite Justice "Great feud... now let's never hear of the death mask again. If the monkey had gotten it, I don't know what I'd do." [3.6] Dave Pietka vs. Trevor Storm "(good match for the most part, but I didnt like the flow of it, too much to keep track of...)" [4.6] Eric Travers vs. Steve Spector "Great match. Very well written, probably the best match on the card." "Awesome climax to one of the best feuds to grace the Slash in the last year." [4.2] Matthew Reason vs. Paul Kiljoy "I was all set to think of Travers/Spector as match of the night until I read this match." "Would have gotten a 5 as well, but I've never been a fan of the ultra hardcore stuff. The plastic bag and trying to slice off Kiljoy's tongue dropped it a notch for me." "(hard act to follow off of the Travers match)" "Swank ending, but no real heat (on account of the lame feud, and Kiljoy's rp getting lost), Travers vs. Spector should have come after it." Day 2 ------- [3.3] Killing Machines vs. Steel City's Finest [4.3] Rally Jackson vs. Trace Michaels "What was up with Rally Jackson bodyslamming some guy named "Scorpion" midway through the match? How'd he get there?" [3.4] Gunnar Gaines vs. DTP "Weird ending, but otherwise good match." "(never been big on the Alaskan matches...)" "A fitting end to the EWA; as the last huge EWA style main event (at least till Gaines/Spector shows up :)), plus an appearance by Super Scott. :) " [4.5] Super Cool vs. Nate McMannis & Maverick "Some really cool spots. But again, the hardcore stuffŠ eh." "Greatest Islash match ever... " [4] Team I-Slash vs. The Cartel/Team EWA "LOVED the end of the show." " (I know it was from 1-5, I think it deserves higher..this match was AWESOME...)" "With Team EWA doing basically nothing, the "Islash" chants at the end were marvellously absurd. DTP/Gaines would have been a much better cap to the EWA experiment. Still, charming and technically sound." Day 3 ------- [3.8] Judgement Day Rumble "Beginning and End rocked hard. Though, it just generally seemed like the first half was dedicated to the "BIG FOUR" and Arcola; while certain characters that have been fairly active were just a flash in the pan. It's like you're reading the greatest match of all time, then all of a sudden some characters you mark for are just tossed aside after uneventful appearances for no good reason. Glaringly. Like the writers just had no idea what to do with them, or no use for them in storyline purposes. This is always the case in rumbles, but it was still generally depressing, especially given the high quality of the writing, which verged on brilliant at times." [4.5] Steve Spector vs. Matthew Reason "Great match. Also didn't get too out of hand on the hardcore side, so it worked well for me." (4) Which day did you enjoy the best? 1, 2, or 3? Day 1 votes - 2 Day 2 votes - 3 Day 3 votes - 5 (5) Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? "Did Shade's team win in the six-man? I can't remember. But if he lost, I disagree with that. That guy is hysterical. And I guess I would've rather seen Reason keep the belt, but it made sense for Spector to win." "Not a huge fan of Gaines winning the Rumble, as Spector/Gaines doesn't seem like a good fit, but we'll see how they handle it, since they're both very capable. I think Magnum was disposed of a bit too easily be a senior citizen to be realistic. That match should've been closer." "SCF winning the tag titles. Also, I would have liked to have seen ITM go over Jackson-- I mark out for ITM." "I'd say I disagreed with the Reason/Spector match. I think I understand why it went the way it did though." "Im a big Reason fan, so I would have liked to see him with the title still, but I can see the reason (no pun intended) angle wise why he doesnt." "I think the booking was really well done. Honestly, most of the matches were extremely close and could have gone either way... including the title match, especially with concern toward Spector and Reason. The Rumble was great, as a whole, I was really into it. Although, I think the Gaines win was a really bad call. The guy had an off cycle, got beat by DTP and finished it off with a horrible mystery man angle. With that said, Gaines has been great before, so I'm hoping he can be great for this feud. Spector/Gaines should be a money match, especially if Gunnar can turn it on again... though he hasn't really done that since the start of the year. However, he did have one great RP last cycle. I am definitely looking forward to a Spector-Gaines match." "Generally didn't like the flow of the rumble. Though screw anyone who says Curt didn't deserve it. Best RP next to Coles. While it would have been nice to see Coles take it, you can't really complain about Gaines." "Magnum getting squashed like a bug by VVV. Also, Spector winning the title... I really think Travers wiped the floor with Spector AND Reason (and obviously the quite inactive Kiljoy) during the entire cycle." (6) What was the biggest shocker, if any, of the event? "Luke Kinsey showing up. I like that guy. He seems interesting. The Travers turn was a shocker, too, but it made sense." "Gaines winning the Rumble." "Gunnar winning the rumble, hands down. He is a great character, but I didn't expect it at all." "Day 3 without question. I never would have guessed Spector and Gaines would win." "I wouldnt call it a SHOCK, since he is a big talent, but Super Scotts LONG run in the Rumble was very cool." "How ridiculously good Luke Kinsey is. I had heard all about him, but seeing him made me a huge fan. His debut was classic, as were all the newcomers. But Kinsey is going straight to the top in I-Slash if he keeps that shit up." "Gaines winner the Rumble. Bad shock. I just thought there were five other guys or so more interesting and deserving. Kinsey debuting in I/W. Great shock. Excited as hell." "The fact that Gaines won the damn Rumble. I didn't see that coming." (7) In the past couple of months, what feud/angles have you enjoyed the most? Least? What storys would you like to see in the next couple of months? "I thought my feud with ITM went really well. Super Cool/Trifecta was great. And of course Travers/Spector." "Most... Super Cool/McMannis & Mav... Least... Gunnar vs. Cheryl. Stories I want to see... Shane Lucas becoming a werewolf. Eric Travers losing his Nike endorsement deal to Steve Spector and becoming the new spokesman for Converse All-Stars. Rob Magnum becoming Rob Magnum, P.I." "Most: the Cartel vs Team I-Slash, Least: The Gunnar/Cheryl stuff" "Most - Super Cool vs McMannis and Mav was the most enjoyable I think. Funny stuff from Super Cool. What stories would I like to see? McBaine vs Arcola should be hot. I'm looking forward to Rock vs Thunder" "MOST-Reason/Kiljoy was great. Anything with Mack is usually good. The Cardiac mask angle has been fun. LEAST-nothing jumps out as bad to me this go around for the most part." "Super Cool making complete asses of McMannis & Maverick is my personal favorite, but I'm biased. I also loved ITM vs. Rally - two of my favorites. And I really liked the DTP-Gunnar. The "I don't live in the past, you do. Nuh uh .. you're the one that lives in the past, not me" stuff was hilarious. The one I didn't really care about was Kiljoy-Reason. Both are great .. but that feud got a bit tiresome to me." "Most - I absolutely loved Rally/ITM. That was a great, overlooked feud. Both guys looked awesome on the PPV and the match had a great ending. I think Reason did some killer RPs, some of the best work, however Trav/Spector had a lot better story going on with nice tension. Biased as it sounds, Super had me rolling the whole cycle. Loved everything he did. The guy rules. I have to say I didn't really like the EWA faction storyline vs. the I/W faction, but the payoff was, despite being predictable. Reason/Kiljoy got kinda convoluted, which sucked a lot of the tension outta the feud. Is it just me or... is Hades becoming more like a Mack clone every card? It seems to be cutting in on Mack's mojo." "Super Cool vs. McMannis & some other guy, has owned every show it touched. Steve Spector versus Eric Travers was very intense. There was no Reason to watch the world title feud, as it was a Kiljoy. In the future? Super Scott versus Steve Spector, the battle for Double S supremacy. ITM versus Rally Jackson Part 5: "Without a Trace... of dignity." :) Gaines versus Coles." "I liked Super Cool v. McMannis, but it sucked that Maverick wasn't around for a lot of it. Spector-Travers and ITM-Rally were really good too. The tag feuds could have been good, but honestly, I don't give them attention because there's no real reason to. Maybe this tag tournament will spark interest in that division." (8) What do you currently like and dislike about the IWF/WOW? "I can't really think of anything I dislike and I like just about everything. The tag division is starting to come around nicely. I wasn't all that into the IC title this cycle." "Two things mainly: 1) Super teams in the tag division-- it makes it frustrating for those of us who run "real" teams to see teams thrown together just a week ago get title shots at pay per views and such. and 2) angles involving wrestler's spouses, families, etc" "I LOVE the talent levelŠ My gawd!" "This is my home fed right now, above all others. I just hope to have more of an impact this cycle." "I like the roster. It's just ridiculous how talented we are. There isn't a guy on this roster that sucks. But this roster is pretty amazing and just keeps getting better. And I love the fact that everyone gets along. It's kind of a rarity in e-wrestling .. i've been here a year now, and everyone gets along just as well today as they did back then - maybe even better. Bitching & whining has been kept to a minimum - and I hope it stays that way. With this roster, nobody has a right to bitch." "I really liked the 3 Day PPV system. Perhaps he we should implement it again. We've got so many great handlers/rp'ers that are card structure is f'ed up. This way... more main event talent get a main event type spotlight, thus people are more apt to read the big matches as part of a day's main event, as opposed to a one day marathon." "You rock the Kasbah, Brian, the damned Kasbah. That said, the current ranking system is abominable, with no wins or loses mentioned, the names seem to randomly change about. Also, the influx of "major" talent is getting irritating. Temple was huge. I marked like nuts. But at a certain point you have to understand, Islash is the place to be. It makes perfect sense for all these big names to be clamouring to get in." (9) Who do you think are currently the top roleplayers in the IWF/WOW (besides yourself!) Names Mentioned: Super Scott, Gunnar "Grizzly" Gaines, "Idolizer" Trace Michaels, Johnny "Cool" Coles, "Suicidal" Nate McMannis, "Epic" Eric Travers, Matthew Reason, Steve Spector, "Tigerheart" Rally Jackson, Trevor Storm, Mack Ensasserol, Razor Ron Jeremy, Vile Vince Viper, Echo Dare & Cardiac, Infinite Justice, "Legacy" Paul Kiljoy, "Heavy Mental" Dave Pietka (10) How do you feel you have been treated recently? "Like an underrage snuff porn star with braces and one leg longer than the other No for real, I feel like I've been treated great." "Okay, I guess. Brian doesn't hit me anymore, so that's good." "Very well, thanks for asking." "Not bad." "I've always been treated great. I have zero complaints." "As usual, I've been treated great, better than great, unbelievably great. I've been given the opportunity to be in killer angles and big feuds. Hopefully, it will continue. If not, I'm still having a blast. Let's bust out another kick ass cycle." "I've been in shock and awe as of late about my success. Wasn't a fan of my rumble appearance. Still, I have never had more fun in my seven years of e-wrestling, than I have with Islash." "Honestly, like a pile of dog crap. But that's OK, I'm still having fun, and if you're running a fed with 35 handlers, you can't please all 35... so if I'm one of the not-so-pleased, then I guess better me than someone that would quit for the same reason." (11) Any final comments? "Keep up the good work. Despite my complaints this fed is still tons of fun." "I can't believe how far this fed has come in the last year. Awesome job Nelson." "Cant wait to see what the future brings." "Just keep on doing what we're doing. Everything's going great. Keep a positive attitude, everyone work well TOGETHER, and always keep in mind that things will not always go your way .. but they will sometimes if ya work hard. Okay, that's too cheesey, I'm stopping now. :)" "You the man Brian! ...Now start a damned comedy division." "Yeah, the I-Slash rules and it's the best fed I've ever been a part of. It's great to see it prosper so greatly and it'd be fantastic to see it continue to flourish. Keep up the good work."
