Sounds like most of you have been enjoying yourselves. But you can't please everyone, so be heard, crybabies. ; ) - Brian _______ [1] On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and1 horrible, rate Egos & Icons. - Average Score: 8.5 - "What tipped the PPV above average was War Games, Mav/Storm and the Rumble which were awesome. A lot of the undercard booking didn't make much sense, especially the tag title scenario. Felt like things were haphazardly thrown together." - "Definite 8.5, undercard was a little weak and I was disinterested" [2] With that being said, was this p-p-v better, worse, or on par with our last PPV? - "Better, only because you expected less and got more." - "Better, probably the best in a year" - "Hard comparison. We had a War Games and a Rumble, which outshined a lot of things and are Match of the Year candidates, and that had a different kind of anticipation that WrestleFest had." [3] So, on a scale of 1-5, how did you think each match was? 5, being totally kick-ass, and 1 meaning that it's something you'd expect to see on WWF Metal. Feel free to add comments on why you liked/disliked the matches... Average Scores (out of 5.0): Sammy Griffin vs. "Devastating" Damon Knight: 2.5 "Sunshine Kid" Mack Ensassarol vs. "Vile" Vince Viper: 2.1 Liam Rogan & Gigantor vs. Gods & Monsters: 3.1 Hightower vs. "The Player" Andrew Johnston: 2.7 Four Way #1 Contender Tag Team Match: 3.1 Down South Connection vs. Infinite Justice: 3.4 IC Title: Trevor Storm vs. Maverick: 4.0 War Games: 4.7 Independence Day Rumble: 4.4 [4] Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? - "Seriously - the Storm/Maverick match was not fair to Josh, I felt he had that match won and got the feeling that Maverick won just because of the angle. I'd be pissed." - "Great booking on this show... I dug all of it." - "I would have given the edge to Viper (his strat was more creative), and I thought Storm should have won the IC title. Mav had the future heel turn going for him so Storm could have used the edge. Ewiaks should have gone to the finals with either DSC or Infinite Justice" - "I only disagreed with the outcome of the Rumble. I like RRJ's stuff but I don't feel that it warrants such a huge push. He's a comedy character who belongs in the upper midcard, not the main event, IMHO." - "In all seriousness, I thought IJ should have beaten DSC." [5] What was the biggest shocker, if any, of the event? - "There weren't any real shockers beyond Rock's retirement (which I knew about in advance)... so I don't think there were any." - "A: Mavericks turn" - "Maverick" - "Billy Rock's retirement. I honestly didn't see it coming. It was one of those rare moments where an e-wrestling happening left me speechless." - "Travers & Thomspon dumping the Tag Titles. The Griffin handcuff move at the Rumble was great stuff. Chad Allen making those tosses was probably the biggest shocker." - "That Nate McMannis didn't win the World title. That's tied with Arcola and Kiljoy getting thrown out at the same time." [6] In the past couple of months, what feud/angles have you enjoyed the most? Least? What storys would you like to see in the next couple of months? - "I don't think any of the feuds played out very well going into this PPV... hopefully the angles are better driven this cycle... it was a bit of a lull for the I/W." - "I like the Maverick turn, a lot can be done with that. Storm/Rock was one of my favorite e-wrestling feuds of all time. Liam Rogan got tiring :) GIVE GIGANTOR A PUSH!" - "I enjoyed Billy Rock's character a lot, and the build up to the Maverick turn was great." - "The War Games stuff was really fun. I loved playing the suspect double-agent role. I'm glad we were able to pull it off. Mav and Storm had some great stuff too, glad to see a strap match :). I know Griffin/Travers has been in the making for a while so I'm anxious to see that happen. A Reason/Hightower feud could be neat (if Reason were to turn heel) I'd like to see Robson and Anderson evolve more and more into Alex Trebeck and Sean Connery. Have you considered a new announcing team? 3rd member maybe?" - "Let's have Storm go completely mental and have him create a ministry of darkness. I have enjoyed seeing War Games come together and the mystery surrounding it all. It left the imagination wide open as to who the mystery partner was going to be." - "A:Most-War Games angle Least- None really......Like to see: Storm and Arcola" [7] What do you currently like and dislike about the IWF/WOW? - "I like that Brian is enthusiastic about the fed, and, as always, I love the handlers... we're a great bunch of people. :) I dislike the damn timeliness of the fed, because it makes it very easy to miss deadlines. :)" - "The new owner is a good old buddy. CJ is going to be sorely missed. I/W needs some new fresh talent to break up what seems to be a monotony." - "Timely cards, great writing, and decent handlers to work with. What's not to like? :)" - "I like the blossoming of the tag team division, and I love the fact that every card is extremely well written-- kudos to the writers. I dislike that there there is a small group that dominates every single card, and that there is such a delay between challenges and the actual match. Also, challenges are often made that are never resolved, for whatever reason. It is frustrating when you are trying to start a program and the people organizing the cards don't run with your ideas-- I've also sent in jumps that were never used with no explanation. I'm cool with the fact that something I try to do doesn't fit with the program, but I'd at least like to know why." [8] Who do you think are currently the top roleplayers in the IWF/WOW (besides yourself!) - "RRJ, Arcola, and Kiljoy all knock my socks off." [NOTE FROM BRIAN: I swear, Ameet _really_ said that.] - "Billy Rock's handler (well, even though he is gone, he was consistently entertaining and the perfect face champion)" - "Mav, Arcola, Storm, Kiljoy, Infinie Justice, Griffin/Jax, Gigantor, Cooper (when he's consistent)" - "RRJ, Kiljoy, Travers (when he does)" [9] How do you feel you have been treated recently? - "Swell." - "Fantastic!" - "Just ducky." - "I've been treated just fine." [NOTE FROM BRIAN: That's great, champ! ; ) ] - "Quite honestly I sometimes feel that I am being ignored. Challenges I make often seem to take weeks to come into fruition. Plus, a few times, run-ins that I requested were either ignored (at Egos and Icons Night 1) or misused (when Johnny Revere joined in Dixie's attack on the Down South Connection-- Johnny Revere doesn't do run ins)." - "I would say fair. I had a good run to start, but I'm 0-1-1 in my last few matches with a loss at War Games and thrown out early at the Rumble. I plan on turning that around this cycle against the Trifecta." [10] One of our handlers who asked to be identified as R. Ron J. wants to know, when you think of certain characters in the IWF/WOW, what living, breathing celebrity/athlete/rock star/porn star, etc. comes to mind? - "Razor Ron Jeremy makes me think of the local Catholic priest." - "Tell you the truth, I don't compare them to anyone. I see everyone as a new entity with their own character." - "Several wrestlers all at once remind me of a mix of HHH and stone cold." - "Jack Anderson - Cris Collinsworth ... Jim Robson - The Penguin ... Anthony Edwards - Phillip Seymour Hoffman (yeah that's random) ... Arcola - Lance Storm ... Kiljoy - Sandman on Prozac ... Thompson - Joe Lieberman (also random) ... Travers - Sting w/o the face paint (And the hairstyle he had right before he turned Crow) ... Billy Rock - Bobby Duncum Jr. :P ... Maverick - Combo of Rhyno and Josey Scott ... Storm - Van Hammer ... Hightower - Test ... Andrew Johnston - Christian ... McMannis - Kanyon (I don't know why) ... Garrett Jax - Chuck Palumbo ... Griffin - Marty Janetty ... Matthew Reason - A bigger Tommy Dreamer ... Vile Vince Viper - Matt Pinfield, or the singer from Smash Mouth ... Mack Ensassarol - Lenny Lane ... RRJ - Aretha Franklin" - "Francine = Bea Arthur of "Golden Girls" fame with fitness guru Richard Simmons in a supporting role as Nate McMannis" - "Rock=HHH ... McMannis= Matt or Jeff Hardy ... Travers=Ric Flair ... Arcola=Taz ... Storm=Marilyn Manson ... Sammy Griffin=Adrian Adonis" [11] Should I send pictures of naked chicks as attatchements with Mayhem each week? - "A: lol nah" - "Sure, but they don't necessarily have to be naked... model shots and girls with their faces covered in -- nevermind." - "Nope" - "Only if the chick in question is Avril Lavigne and/or the chick who plays Meadow Soprano." [NOTE FROM BRIAN: Mmmmm ... Avril ... ] - "Naked chicks are cool" - "er, no, that's alright. some of us check our e-mail at work." - "You're my dog, Brian" [NOTE FROM BRIAN: I want to know what some of you guys have against naked chicks. Did you get lost on the way to #e-wrestling or something?] [12] If you could work a program with anyone in I/W, who would it be? - "Logan Gunz" - "Besides you? I'd say McMannis, or Storm." - "Billy Rock (once that stupid retirement angle is over)" - "Hmm. Well, this doesn't mean much because I handle a tag team now... but I'd love to work a program with Travers' handler. He seems like a cool handler to work with." - "RRJ" - "A: McMannis" [13] Any final comments? - "Good luck dude. For the fed: Have no fear. No worries about the ownership change. Brian is no Foster, he'll be great. If anything is driving this fed to hell, it's me. So wish Brian luck." [NOTE FROM BRIAN: : ) ] - "Brian Nelson is a weiner." [NOTE FROM BRIAN: : ( ]
