The 2000 Independence Day Rumble, and it's James Monosso. Finally we see the 2001 ID4 Rumble as Arcola dropkicks Billy Rock out of the ring to pick up the win. Below it is written: Thursday July 4th, 2002 United Center Washington, DC, USA LIVE! The screen then shows over twenty thousand rapid fans inside the United Center in Washington, DC, USA. They are screaming their lungs out, waving posters, signs, American flags and everything they possibly could - all in an attempt to get on television, and get noticed.] [After several moments of panning over the arena, _loud_ fireworks above the ring begin to go off, followed by fire bursting out of the ring turnbuckles. The fans let out an even bigger pop, because they know that day two of EGOS & ICONS is about to get underway. After a few more moments panning the arena, the regular voice of IWF/WOW play-by-play man Jim Robson is heard...] Jim Robson: WELCOME EVERYONE... WELCOME TO WHAT IS ALWAYS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING PAY PER VIEW EVENTS OF THE YEAR!! WELCOME TO EGOS & ICONS: INDEPENDENCE DAY RUMBLE!!! [The camera continues to move around the arena. We see several signs, including "THIS SIGN SUCKS", "MCMANNIS FOR PRIME MINISTER", "JAGR? WHO?", and even a sign asking for a million dollars. Eventually, the camera pans to ringside where Jim Robson and Jack Anderson are sitting at their usual desk.] Jim Robson: Hello everyone... we have a huge event for you tonight, headlined by the thiry man Independence Day Rumble. In just a couple hours thirty men will pile into that ring... and one will walk out with the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Championship. Jack Anderson: That's what it's all about. The IWF/WOW title... everyone wants it, but only one man is going to get it. Jim Robson: And after the events of day one, it doesn't look like that man will be either Billy Rock, Paul Kiljoy, Razor Ron Jeremy or Justin Arcola. Jack Anderson: It certainly doesn't... after losing war games on day one, they are rewarded with spots one, two, three and four in the Independence Day Rumble. This is going to make for some interesting matches. Jim Robson: It certainly will. Of course, you because they were the winners, Maverick, Nate McMannis, Eric Travers and Wade "Angel of Death" Thompson will come out in the twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine and thirty spots. Jack Anderson: Just as they rightly should... and don't forget, Thompson went ninty minutes back in 1997, I know he can make it tonight. In fact, I think he'll be my pick. Jim Robson: Of course one man who has to be glad he's coming out at the end is Maverick. After his actions on day one, turning his back on his long-time friends Billy Rock and Razor Ron Jeremy... well, you can bet Rock and RRJ will be out for him. Jack Anderson: But they're not going to get him - there is no way they last that long, no way at all. Jim Robson: Well tonight we'll also see new World Tag Team Champions. On day one Infinite Justice defeated the Down South Connection to become the number one contenders, but Travers and Thompson came out and said they didn't want to wrestle today. They wanted to save their enegry to try and win the rumble... so they gave up the titles. Jack Anderson: And then Thompson used his powers of being Vice President to make a match between the Down South Connection and Infinite Justice a World Tag Team Titles match. Jim Robson: So they will lock up tonight in the ring. But... [Before another word could be mentioned, we hear "Bitter" by The Union Underground blasts over the P.A.. The crowd jumps and turns to the entrance as a flashing dark purple light is shown at the entrance as white smoke begins to kick out from the entrance. Co-President Chris, who had just entered the ring to prepare to make an announcement, turns and stares at the entrance with a bit of confusion... Lights out... The music is suddenly cut as are the lights. This jam packed arena begins screaming in unison-- cheers and jeers. A little bit of everything really. When all of a sudden the music picks up yet again* "Bitter" by Union Underground hits and the lights suddenly flick back on. The co-President stands in the ring staring at the entrance, but he's not alone. Standing behind him is a man standing 6'5, with a shaved head where slight stuble and battle scars are noticeable. Wearing black jeans and no shirt, the man's rib cage is bandaged up and his face is bruised and still battered. The fans absolutely go ballistic for the returning.] Jim Robson: OH MY GOD! Jack Anderson: It isn't Schism.. but it'll do! Jim Robson: Matthew Reason!! That's Matthew Reason-and he's standing behind the owner of this federation, and he doesn't look too happy. [Reason puts his hand on the shoulder of Jurkschat and swings him around.] CO-PRESIDENT CHRIS: Matt... Ugh.. welcome bac[MMMPPFFTTTT!] [Reason places his hand over CJ's mouth just before ripping the microphone out of his hand.] MATTHEW REASON: Hello Christopher. [Reason's only regular (and normal) phrase gives the fans something to pop about.. and like pringles said it best, once you pop... you can't stop.] MATTHEW REASON: Christopher, do you know how it feels to bleed to death? Do you know how it feels to be laying on the ground, helpless, trying not to swallow your tongue? Trying not to roll your eyes into the back of your head, trying to survive circumstances that are overwhelming... ones you can't bear. When you have just a little life in you, and you grasp it.. Merely trying to not let go. When you stare at the ceiling* watching the crimson river flow into your eyes, not being able to move parts of your body because bones are broken, asking God to give you another chance because he was about to take your last chance away. [pause.] MATTHEW REASON: I came here not by choice but by chance. The chance that Eric Vanguard would walk threw that curtain-I was not going to give him the beating of his life, I was merely going to take his life away. I was going to revenge a wrong-- but I heard that you've suspended him... you've taken that chance away from me. [Reason steps a foot closer to Jurkschat.] MATTHEW REASON: I want you to think for a minute of everything I've done here in I/W. I want you to know that I threw a man off Hell in the Cell, I came back from being buried alive-- I've been hit with pans, thrown threw windows-- I've tried to rip someone's face off, I've kidnapped women, manipulated wrestlers.._ENDED CAREERS_ I [BLEEP]ing mind raped every person I've come across in I/W. Now I'm not asking you Chris, I'm demanding that you re-instate Eric.... __NOW__!! [Chris looks at Reason for a minute..] CO-PRESIDENT CHRIS: But Matt, I can't really do that und... [Reason slaps his hand across the throat of Jurkschat.] MATTHEW REASON: Maybe I didn't make myself clear. What I did before-I did for no apparent reason other then my own sick pleasure.. this time, it's revenge. I want him Chris, and I want him re-instated __NOW__. CO-PRESIDENT CHRIS: Ma[begins to gag.] MATTHEW REASON: I don't want an explanation-- re-instate Vanguard, __RIGHT NOW__!!! Jim Robson: DEAR GOD!! Reason has his hand wrapped around the neck of his boss!! if he's not careful, Eric Vanguard won't be the only one unemployed! Jack Anderson: The man is sick!! [Chris doesn't answer merely begins to choke. Reason not hearing the answer he wants, lifts up the co-President by the throat in the air... a million flashes go off at once. As Reason brings down Jurkschat with a thunderous chokeslam that not only shakes the ring but sends off a thunderous roar in the arena.] Jim Robson: I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST WITNESSED!! MATTHEW REASON HAS CHOKESLAMMED THE OWNER OF THIS FEDERATION!!! HAS THE MAN LOST HIS MIND? Jack Anderson: He might have just shook not only the ring.. but the very foundation of this company!! Jack Anderson: That's saying he had a mind to lose in the beginning.. this man is a psychopath*. He should __NOT__ be employed here in the I/W!! [Reason reaches into his pocket and pulls out what seems to be fishing line. He wraps the line around one of his hands and then pulls it and wraps it around the other..] Jim Robson: OH DEAR GOD! TELL ME HE'S NOT THINKING WHAT I THINK HE'S THINKING?!?!? [Reason lifts up a motionless Jurkschat and places his limp body sitting up against his leg. Reason wraps the fishing line around his neck. Jim Robson: THIS IS ATTEMPTED MURDER!! THIS IS JUST FOR BUT REVENGE, AND HE'S GONNA TAKE IT OUT ON THE CO-PRESIDENT!! THIS IS HIDEOUS! THIS IS-- [GET!!!] [THE!!!] [F*CK!!!] [UP!!!] Jim Robson: WAIT! HERE COMES THE CHAMPION! "SERIAL THRILLER" BILLY ROCK JUST BLAZED THE AISLE AND DOVE INTO THE RING!! [Billy slides right up to his feet and crouches in front of Reason, who's on his knees, holding the fishing line to Chris's neck. He begins talking softly to Reason, nodding his head positively. Reason's teeth are clinched. Small pellots of saliva fly from the corners of his mouth. Billy reaches out and wiggles his fingers toward Francine. She prances toward the ring and rolls in a microphone.] BILLY ROCK: Matthew! Matthew, look at me! Look who's here! [He reaches cautiously toward the fishing line, but Reason retracts and pulls it tighter against Chris's neck. Billy pulls back.] BILLY ROCK: Okay! Okay! Listen, Matthew. It's your friend. Billy. Remember me? Remember when I buried yuh alive? I destroyed your face, remember? [Billy, somehow, on some dark level, understands Matthew as well as anyone can. Reason breathes heavily, but closes his eyes tightly and nods.] BILLY ROCK: Yeah, yuh remember don't yuh, buddy? Good times, right. [He falls to his knees and places a hand on Reason's shoulder.] BILLY ROCK: Remember when yuh told me my dad was dead, when I hadn't heard from him in years? [A smirk forms in the corner of Reason's mouth. We're getting somewhere.] Jack Anderson: This is _weird_! BILLY ROCK: Remember seeing the tears roll down my face that night? [Reason, still holding the co-President, leans into the mic.] MATTHEW REASON: Knock-knock. BILLY ROCK: Who's there, Matthew? MATTHEW REASON: Your dead father. [We've heard it before, but Reason finds the humor timeless. He cracks a grin as Billy fakes one, then turns his head toward the crowd. He rolls his eyes before turning back to Reason with another big fake grin.] Jim Robson: Billy Rock is doing whatever he has to do tonight to save co-President Chris! BILLY ROCK: That's a good one, Matthew. Now I want to tell yuh something. Something between you and I. But first ... I want yuh to let Chris go. [Reason thinks about it.] BILLY ROCK: Come on, Matthew. You'll like it, I promise. Jim Robson: Reason let go! He let go of the co-President! [Billy rises to his feet. Reason follows him up.] BILLY ROCK: Matthew, I saw what happened to yuh. I saw what that fella did to yuh after what yuh put yourself through with St. Clair. And not once did I hear yuh ask for it. What I _have_ heard yuh ask for, time and time again in your own way, is my friendship. For me to understand yuh. [He places his hand on Reason's shoulder.] BILLY ROCK: I do understand yuh. And yuh don't have to worry about Vanguard now. Yuh don't have to worry about your revenge. No matter what happened in the past, Billy Rock is gonna be there for yuh. Yuh earned that when yuh packed St. Clair's bags. Yuh proved yourself that night, but I didn't get the chance to tell yuh. Well now I am, Matthew. Now I can reach out ... [Extends his hand.] BILLY ROCK: ... and I can call yuh friend. MATTHEW REASON: friend? [Reason stares at Rock who nods with approval. Reason extends his hand only to pull Rock in close and give him a huge hug.] MATTHEW REASON: I knew it be this way Billy, I knew it. [Reason turns around and sees co-President Chris laying on the ground... he lifts him up and carrys him to the back and waves for Rock to come with. Reason slaps hands on the way back... only to stop mid aisle and raise the hand of his buddy Billy Rock.] Jim Robson: Well... that was somewhat odd. Jack Anderson: So Rock and Reason are friends now? Jim Robson: I guess so... Jack Anderson: I think that attack by Eric Vanguard a few weeks back must have knocked a few screws loose in his head. Jim Robson: Like there weren't a few missing earlier. Jack Anderson: Well, eitherway, as Reason mentioned in the ring, Vanguard is now suspended from the I/W... why though, I'm not sure. Jim Robson: Neither am I... although I would assume it was for the attack on Matthew Reason. Jack Anderson: Maybe... ============================================================ EGOS & ICONS: Independence Day Rumble continues in part 2... Jim Robson: Folks... things are just about ready to get started here on day two of EGOS & ICONS. Jack Anderson: And our first match is a tag team match! Jim Robson: That's right... Liam Rogan and Gigantor will take up to take on Gods & Monsters. Lets get to the ring for the introductions. _____ ___ ___ | ____( _ ) |_ _|-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 -=-=-=-=-=-=-= | _| / _ \/\| | TAG TEAM ACTION | |__| (_> <| | Liam Rogan/Gigantor vs Gods & Monsters |_____\___/\/___|=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 =-=-=-=-=-=-=- -------------------------> WRITER: Josh Harris <------------------------ FRANCINE: The following match is scheduled for _ONE_ FALL! The crowd has a mixed reaction.] FRANCINE: About to enter the ring, from New York, New York standing 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 255 pounds, here is ... Shane "The Superstar" Blazer!!! [Shane "The Superstar" Blazer makes his way to the ring. He wears long black ring trunks with red trim. The word "Superstar" is written in gold letters on his right leg.] FRANCINE: AND HIS PARTNER! [Superstar by Saliva continues to play over the loudspeakers. The crowd has a mixed reaction.] FRANCINE: About to enter the ring, from parts unknown standing 6 feet and weighing 330 pounds, here is ... The Man Eating Monster!!! [The Man Eating Monster makes his way to the ring. He wears traditional brown amateur wrestling tights, with what appears to be blood on each side of them. His entire body is also covered with hair.] FRANCINE: AND THEIR OPPONENTS! ["The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band begins to blare over the loudspeakers, resulting in a strong yet mixed reaction from the crowd...] FRANCINE: Introducing first, about to enter the ring, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, standing six feet two inches and weighing two hundred and thirty-seven pounds, here is ... LIAM ROGAN!!!!! [Clad in a faded Metallica t-shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of combat boots, Liam Rogan emerges from behind the entrance curtain. He quickly makes his way down the aisle, keeping his eyes fixated on both members of Gods & Monsters as he reaches the ring. He slides under the bottom rope and enters the ring. Meanwhile, Francine introduces his partner...] FRANCINE: And his partner... accompanied to the ring by The Huntress... weighing three hundred and sixty pounds and standing well over seven feet tall...THIS... IS... GIGANTOR!!! [The curtain flies open and The Huntress steps through, letting her shoulder-length jet-black hair to wave in the air. Dressed in a leopard skinned bikini, her right hand remains over her shoulder, holding the end of a chain. The chain attaches to a black leather collar, which is around the neck of the huge seven foot hairy monster known as...GIGANTOR!! Gigantor lets out a growl, followed by his trademark "AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH" which echoes throughout the arena. As The Huntress, with a cocky grin across her lips, continues to lead Gigantor towards the ring, the beast begins to swing towards fans. The young lady, however, is able to restrain him by yanking on the chain, and seductively signal him to follow her. Jim Robson: The next matchup should be pretty exciting. Gods and Monsters still have a lot to prove, and what better place then an IWF/WOW pay-per-view? Not only that, but Liam Rogan and Gigantor have made their intentions here in the IWF/WOW very clear. Lets go to the ring. [The huntress seductively unleashes Gigantor and slides out of the ring. Liam takes her lead, and with less grace makes his way under the ropes, leaving Gigantor inside the ring. Shane, seeing the immediate danger of stepping in the ring with a fresh big man, takes a step out, leaving The Man Eating Monster inside.] Jim Robson: WOW, JACK! Look at the size of both of these men. This should be one hell of a start. DING! DING! DING! [Gigantor lets out a trademark growl and slowly walks towards the middle of the ring. The ghastly Man Eating Monster lets his neck tilt to both the right and left, and he makes his way to the center of the ring as well.] Jim Robson: I TAKE THAT BACK! GIGANTOR TOWERS OVER THE MAN EATING MONSTER! Jack Anderson: I think the Man Eating Monster is to stupid to back down. [Indeed he is Jack. Both men stare at one another, until a shriek comes from outside of the ring. Huntress orders Gigantor to go in for the kill.] Jim Robson: HUGE FOREARM TO THE CHEST OF MAN EATING MONSTER! AND MAN EATING MONSTER IS DOWN! Gigantor bringing the Monster back up to his feet...ANOTHER HUGE FOREARM TO THE BACK SENDING MONSTER BACK TO THE GROUND! [Again, Gigantor lifts him up, and a club to the back sends The Man Eating Monster to the ground again.] Jim Robson: Gigantor bringing the poor Monster back up...but this time all the way to his fee-OH IRISH WHIP! MONSTER INTO THE ROPES! [OOOOOO!] Jim Robson: HUGE BOOT RIGHT TO THE CHIN OF MAN EATING MONSTER! GIGANTOR NOW DELIVERING NASTY STOMPS RIGHT TO THE BACK OF MAN EATING MONSTER'S HEAD! [Blazer hops the rope trying to break this up, but Gigantor sees him coming and turns just in time.] Jim Robson: IRON CLAW ON SHANE BLAZER! HE HAS THAT DISGUSTING FINISHING MOVE LOCKED ON THE FACE OF SHANE BLAZER! [The Man Eating Monster ends the hold quickly with a low blow to Gigantor's jewels. The big man instantly releases the hold on Blazer, who crumbles back out of the ring.] Jim Robson: THAT DIDN'T EVEN PHASE GIGANTOR! THE MAN EATING MONSTER IS REELING! [Gigantor preys on the Monster, all the way to the corner.] Jim Robson: BLIND TAG! Liam Rogan over the ropes in a quick bound. Huntress ordering Gigantor out of the ring. [Gigantor steps over the top rope, at the same time Liam begins digging the toe of his left boot into the throat of Man Eating Monster.] Jim Robson: Liam pulling the Man Eating Monster...and amazing...even Liam Rogan stands taller then the Man Eating Monster. [Liam tugs at the arm of The Man Eating Monster, sending him to the opposite side of the ring, into the other turnbuckle.] Jim Robson: Man Eating Monster lands hard in the other corner. Liam following it up! HUGE RUNNING KNEE TO THE GUT OF THE MAN EATING MONSTER! [Liam throws himself over the top rope and lands quite hard on the outside. He instantly jumps back up to his feet, and pulls Man Eating Monster up to his feet.] Jim Robson: Liam sends Man Eating Monster head first into the pole! DING! [The Man Eating Monster instantly goes limp and collides with the floor. Liam leaves Monster in his own wreckage and starts digging around beneath the ring....] Jim Robson: A LEATHER STRAP! THAT STRAP IS TO BE USED LATER TONIGHT IN MAVERICK AND TREVOR STORM'S STRAP MATCH! [Liam brings the strap high above his head.] WARRRPISH! WARRRPISH! WARRRPISH! [Liam discards the strap and plants a hard left kick into the ribs of Man Eating Monster's.] Jim Robson: The ref is _NOT_ happy with Liam Rogan and he's letting Liam know it, right now! [Liam, seeing he's in trouble of a possible DQ, lifts Man Eating Monster up once again and sends him into the ring.] Jim Robson: SHANE BLAZER! SHANE BLAZER IS REACHING! HE _AL_ _MOST_ _HAS_ _A_---NO! [Liam plants the heel of his boot into the spine of Man Eating Monster, and grabs him by the ankle, pulling him away from Shane Blazer. Shane looks very disappointed.] Jim Robson: Liam looking for a tag. GIGANTOR IS BACK IN! Jack Anderson: Not good for the Man Eating Monster. [Gigantor takes the Monster from Liam and positions himself for a slam.] Jim Robson: GIGANTOR TAKING THE MAN EATING MONSTER _ABOVE_ HIS HEAD! THAT'S THREE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY POUNDS ABOVE HIS HEA-OH MY GOD! GIGANTOR IS PRESSING HIM! [Gigantor lifts and presses The Man Eating Monster as though he weighed a meer hundred pounds.] Jim Robson: Gigantor releases Monster, and takes a step forward, letting Monster fall nearly ten feet to the ground! The Man Eating Monster has been in the match since the get go. How's he still going? Jack Anderson: I doubt he'll be going much longer, Jim. Jim Robson: You could be very right, Jack. [Gigantor lifts The Man Eating Monster up by the throat...and] Jim Robson: HE DOESN'T STOP THERE! GIGANTOR LIFTING THE MAN EATING MONSTER ALL THE WAY UP INTO A CHOKE SLAM!!! AND SLLLLLLAM! Jim Robson: OHHH! [The Man Eating Monster crashes hard. Shane Blazer in the corner turns his head in horror. From outside the ring the Huntress _ORDERS_ for another.] Jim Robson: GIGANTOR KEEPS HIS HANDS WRAPPED AROUND THE THROAT OF THE MAN EATING MONSTER AND LIFTS AGAIN! [Gigantor brings the Monster all the way up again, setting up for another big choke slam.] SLLLLLLLAM! Jim Robson: AND ANOTHER! GOD! GOD! Shane Blazer can't believe it! He's begging for a tag. BEGGING FOR IT! [Gigantor makes his way back to the corner and tags in Liam. Liam confidently steps into the ring, and gives a few mocking taunts to Blazer.] Jim Robson: Blazer didn't like that. He's trying to push his way passed the ref, but he'll have none of it. [Gigantor reaches down and takes hold of the Monster's hair, pulling him up to the ropes.] Jim Robson: Good show of team work...I guess. More like double team, but it works I suppose. Gigantor holding the Monster at bay, whilst Liam jars 'em in the gut with rights and lefts. [Blazer finally makes his way back beneath the ropes, and the ref is all over the match again....however, he didn't see one thing. Good ol' refs. Musta had somethin' in his eye.] Jack Anderson: Shane Blazer just caused an unnecessary amount of punishment to his partner for that little stubborn stunt. [Liam jerks Man Eating Monster from the corner, bringing him to the center of the ring.] Jim Robson: STRAIGHT DDT! Jack Anderson: Someone stop this. It's horrible. [Liam rolls back up to his feet, and plants a stiff kick to the side of Monster's head. Liam quickly darts towards the corner, and springs up the ropes, perching himself on the top rope.] Jim Robson: BIG RISK BY LIAM ROGAN! < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > < > Jim Robson: HUGE FROGSPLASH! THE MAN EATING MONSTER'S BODY CRUMPLED BENEATH THE IMPACT! Jack Anderson: The Man Eating Monster crumpled long ago, Jim. He hasn't been in the match since the first forearm. [Shane stands in the corner with his hand plastered across his forehead, not really knowing what to do.] Jim Robson: The ref checking on The Man Eating Monster. To see if this poor human being is still breathing. Jim Robson: LOW BLOW BY THE MAN EATING MONSTER AND LIAM ROGAN FELT THAT ONE!!! [Liam drops like a bag of bricks, and SHANE BLAZER IS GOING INSANE!] Jim Robson: BLAZER BEGGING FOR THE TAG! AND _HE_ _MAY_ _HAVE_-YES! [Blazer leaps over the ropes only to meet Gigantor head on. Liam tagged out after getting his valuables slapped around.] Jim Robson: DEAR GOD! GIGANTOR JUST ENDED SHANE'S MOMENTUM WITH THE IRON CLAW! THE SECOND TIME GIGANTOR'S HAD IT LOCKED AROUND SHANE'S HEAD! [Gigantor has a crazed look in his eye as his hands squeeze the life out of Shane's head.] Jim Robson: The ref in to make the check. Shane looks dead here, folks. No movement at all. _AMAZING_ how Gigantor just stopped him dead in his tracks with that death grip. The ref in now, lifting the arm. ONE! Jim Robson: We have one. The ref lifting Blazer's arm once again... TWO! Jim Robson: The ref signaling a two count. Looking for number three now. [The arm lifts.....] . . . . . . . . . [...and falls.] THREE! DING! DING! DING! FRANCINE: YOUR WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A SUBMISSION!!!! L I A M R O G A N A N D G I G A N T O R ! ! ! ! ! [Liam Rogan and the huntress instantly hit the ring. Huntress orders off the hold, just in time for Liam to start digging into the kidneys of Shane Blazer with those tipped wrestling boots.] Jim Robson: This is _HORRIBLE_! Hasn't these poor souls had enough!?! Liam Rogan going after The Man Eating Monster now. [Liam throws The Man Eating Monster into the middle of the ring, and a severe beat down ensues. Both Rogan, and Gigantor are just unrelentless. Huge stomps to the nearly unconcious Gods and Monsters.] Jim Robson: The Huntress just handed Liam Rogan a _CHAIR!_ Jack Anderson: This could be entertaining. [Huntress keeping The Man Eating Monster in the corner. Gigantor picks up Shane Blazer.] Jim Robson: OH! HUGE BACK BREAKER FROM GIGANTOR! WAIT! GIGANTOR IS HOLDING SHANE BLAZER ON HIS KNEE! SHANE'S HEAD IS DANGLING OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF GIGANTOR'S KNEE! WAIT! NO! LIAM ROGAN IS LIFTING THE CHAIR HIGH ABOVE HIS HEAD!!!! WAAAAAAAAP! Jim Robson: DEAR GOD! LIAM ROGAN NEARLY DECAPITATED SHANE BLAZER WITH THAT CHAIR! [The Huntress with the help of Liam heave The Man Eating Monster towards Gigantor, who instantly lifts him high into the air.] Jim Robson: ANOTHER BIG BACK BREAKER!!! LIAM WITH THAT CHAIR AGAIN! GIGANTOR HOLDING THE MAN EATING MONSTER! WAAAAAAAAP! Jim Robson: GET SOMEONE OUT HERE NOW! [Shane Blazer and Man Eating Monster lay in the middle of the ring, their faces covered in a crimson mask.] Jim Robson: WHO'S GOING TO STOP SUCH DESTRUCTION, JACK!?! LIAM ROGAN AND GIGANTOR JUST DISMEMBERED A GREAT TAG TEAM HERE TONIGHT! [Gigantor, Liam Rogan and The Huntress begin to exit the ring, as Charles Gibson and his boys appear escorting an army of EMT's to the ring.] Jim Robson: Folks this was absolutely horrible. Jack Anderson: No one can stop these guys, Jim. Jim Robson: I have a few ideas, Jack. It was Billy Rock who shoved dirty toilet paper into the gullet of Liam Rogan...you cannot forget that one. Jack Anderson: Ahhh, rubbish. Jim Robson: Anyway folks. Lets let the EMT's clean up out here... and right now lets hear from Paul Kiljoy who will be taking part in the Independence Day Rumble later on tonight. [Cut to backstage.] [We open to a sweaty, bloody, exhausted image of what _used_ to be 'Legacy' Paul Kiljoy. His bleached-blond spikes look like they were dyed red. His face is covered in dried blood and dirt. After War Games, the before/after on this man doesn't look at all alike] Paul Kiljoy: Out of everyone, Billy, out of _everyone_, you tapped. [He looks down at his forearm and digs something out of a fresh wound] Paul Kiljoy: Am I surprised? Damn right I am. What the hell, man? My tag team partner, taps out? My buddy, my 'friend to the end', Billy Rock? What the fricking hell. You know what, Arcola? R-R-Jay? You know what? [He tears off a dirty kneepad and flies it behind him. He's visibly upset] Paul Kiljoy: Well I'll tell you. I _started_ that match for a reason. I started that piece of sh[bleep] so _YOU GUYS_ could have it easy. Five chairshots, Billy? The [quotes] Ozark Deathride [unquote]? Sh[bleep]. Who fricking cares about Maverick? So he turned! FRICK! [He peels off what used to be a section of skin] Paul Kiljoy: I Slash, I want you to listen, and I want you to listen good. If you're watching this on Day two, congratulations. I want you to know, _all of you_, that for the last three days, I'm not sleeping, I'm not eating, I'm not going to be a _normal_ human being. Oh no, I Slash. I'm gonna be a _killer_. And I don't _care_ who's in the Rumble. Start me first, I Slash! Go ahead! I did it once! [spits out blood] I'm still ticking baby! I'm still champ of North America! [He's getting fired up and gets to his feet] Paul Kiljoy: Arcola, you are now enemy. I hate you. [His eyes are acting really odd] Paul Kiljoy: R-R-Jay? Shooting Ron Press or not, I've _always_ hated your ass. [They're getting glazed over] Paul Kiljoy: And Billy Rock? You wanna quit on us, huh? YOU WANT TO QUIT ON ME, BITCH? YOU WANT TO LOSE _THREE_ MATCHES IN A ROW, BILLY? [pause] I beat your ass once, 'champ'. F[bleep] fans, f[bleep] friendship. Now this is about pay-per-view. _Now_, this is about the I Slash World Heavyweight championship. Want to know what I'm slashing now, Jeremy? I'll be slashing your _balls_ off, baby! [He shakes his head violently, blood and sweat evenly flying] Paul Kiljoy: I had to be part of a team at War Games. In the Rumble, _I_ control my own destiny. Legacies don't grow tapping out. Legacies grow with _titles_. And Billy Rock, Arcola, McMannis, Maverick ... you f[bleep]ing pieces of sh[bleep], 'Legacy' Paul Kiljoy, does not give a fricking sh[bleep] anymore. [He moves quick to the lens] Paul Kiljoy: Bring me my belt on a silver platter, Billy. [His eyes roll up into his head, uncontrollably laughing. This man is not well] Paul Kiljoy: Then again, your head will do too. [Escape while we can!] [Back to ringside.] Jack Anderson: Ohh... yeah! Tonights Independence Day Rumble is going to be good. Damn good. Jim Robson: Things are starting to heat up... and all is not well between Rock, Kiljoy, RRJ and Arcola. Jack Anderson: There's going to be a fight tonight! ============================================================ EGOS & ICONS: Independence Day Rumble continues in part 3... Jim Robson: Our next match is a No-Holds Barred permanent Loser Leaves Town Match, a match that was signed this past week on Mayhem, and happened quite suddenly I must say. Jack Anderson: Yes it was a shock that is for sure! Jim Robson: Last week folks on Mayhem former I/W Superstar Hightower made a surprise return... finally drug free and ready to once again make a name for himself! But then the man who first drove him out of this business last year, his former protégé, "The Player" Andrew Johnston made a shocking return to the I/W as well... trying to ruin Hightower's moment. Jack Anderson: But unfortunately our idiot President Chris came out and decided that he didn't want to see "The Player" beating up Hightower week after week after week, so he set up this match, where one man has to leave the I/W for good! And don't forget as you just said Jim... it was just last year that Hightower was defeated by "The Player" Andrew Johnston in a Loser Leaves Town Match, where AJ also badly injured his former mentor! Jim Robson: Yes due to interference by his older brother, former member of the West Coast Connection along with Hightower, "The Wildman" Mike Johnston... hence why there was a clause put in that absolutely nobody interferes in this match! Jack Anderson: Bah The Player doesn't need anybody's help to take down that big dope head... besides this is no holds barred... they can fight anywhere they want and use whatever weapons they want. This is going to be a blood bath for sure! Jim Robson: Speaking of The Player we have him standing by right now for comments on his match set to take place moments from now. [The camera view on the VideoTron changes to the backstage area, inside the locker room of "The Player" Andrew Johnston, who stands there wearing sunglasses, a glittering silver robe (ala Ric Flair) with "The Player written in black letter across the back. He briefly runs a hand through his blonde hair before crossing arms and speaking.] Andrew Johnston: Hightower....just minutes from now you will be in that ring, in the presence of greatness, in the presence of the man who ended your career once already and put you in a wheelchair.....in the presence of none other than the future of not only this damn company, but this business!! [Fans who are watching this on the VideoTron start to boo Andrew Johnston.] Andrew Johnston: Hightower you may have fooled these dumb ass fans......but you haven't fooled me! You're only 4 years older than me and you're washed up.....when you should be in your prime....yeah right you quit pot. Sure I believe you....NOT! You should have stayed in physio big man because I am going to make sure this time, you never leave the hospital! Tonight I'll prove to the world that the first time it happened it was no accident, and tonight you can kiss your career and your ass goodbye! [Andrew Johnston goes to walk out of his locker room, but stops and walks back in the camera view.] Andrew Johnston: And oh yeah by the way Hightower....you might want to go smoke a joint big man so you are ready for the physical and mental pain I am about to give you. [AJ lowers his sunglasses slightly, winking at the camera before walking out as the scene comes to an end. [The scene immediately switches to the locker room of Hightower. The fans see Hightower and give him a quick traditional pop, and along side him as well is I/W Reporter Anthony Edwards. Hightower is expressionless as his sunglasses are hiding his eyes, which makes his face hard to read as he continues to stare at the monitor which he had just been watching.] Anthony Edwards: Hightower we just heard the comments made by your opponent for your match "The Player" Andrew Johnston....and he had some rather inappropriate comments to make. What are your thoughts on your match tonight just about to take place. [Hightower takes off his sunglasses, but has his eyes closed, then suddenly he snaps his head to look at Edwards and opens his eyes, which are full of red hot anger. Hightower starts to breath heavily as he glares down at Anthony Edwards, who starts to cower back. Hightower continues to glare at Edwards for sometime... and finally he simply puts on his sunglasses and walks out of the room, with Anthony Edwards still cowering back as the scene comes to an end.] [The scene cuts back to ringside as both commentators look at each other with shocked expressions on their face.] Jim Robson: This is not going to be pretty! Jack Anderson: Damn you can say that again! _____ ___ ___ | ____( _ ) |_ _|-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 -=-=-=-=-=-=-= | _| / _ \/\| | SINGLES ACTION | |__| (_> <| | Hightower vs Andrew Johnston |_____\___/\/___|=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 =-=-=-=-=-=-=- ------------------------> WRITER: Chris Shannon <----------------------- [Suddenly Devil Without A Cause" By Kid Rock starts to play as the lights dim and the fans start to boo.] "You knew that I was coming 'cause you heard my name But you don't know my game and never felt my pain Can't read my brain but you read my lips And got scared when you heard that I was coming with hits Now don't even trip, be a man instead Give thanks I'm alive when I should be dead I'm in the red 'cause my mind's distortin? Introducing first, standing at 6 foot 5 and weighing in at 269 pounds, he hails from Los Angeles, California, here is..... "THE PLAYER" ANDREW JOHNSTON!!! [The fans boo even more furiously now as The Player walks out from behind the curtain, the sunglasses off now as he stands with his hands on his hips, a cocky arrogant stance as he has a cocky perma grin locked on his face. Finally he holds out arms out beside him, twirling around with his arms opened as if he's going to hug somebody. As The Player makes his way down to the ring he keeps strutting, very sure that he is about to obtain victory when the match has not even started yet.] Jim Robson: This young man is so full of himself! I mean he actually thinks that he is the future of wrestling! Jack Anderson: And he is Jim! And you will see that tonight when he rids us from Hightower forever... you're the man Player! [The Player finally enters the ring, standing in the middle of the ring he takes off his rope, showing a chiseled physique, and silver vinyl trunks (ala Jeff Jarrett) with "The Player" written across the butt in black lettering, and red stripes down the sides of the trunks. He holds his arms out in the air, once again giving that cocky smile as the fans booing is now drowning out his music. AJ goes and leans in the corner and waits as the fans booing and his music slowly dies down as the lights come back on.] FRANCINE: AND HIS OPPONENT..... ["Boom" by P.O.D. begins to play and the fans give a big pop.] FRANCINE: Standing at 6 foot 8 and weighing in at 271 pounds, he hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, here is..... . . . H I G H T O W E R !!! [The fans stand to their feet and cheer as Hightower walks out from behind the curtains, wearing black vinyl pants, wearing his trade mark silver football jersey with the Number 71 on the front in back and his name on the back in black lettering. His sunglasses are covering his eyes, but his face etched with anger as he glares down at The Player.] Jim Robson: He looks pissed! I think that Andrew Johnston may want to run while he still has the chance! Jack Anderson: Not a chance The Player isn't scared of this loser! [Finally Hightower thrusts one arm up in the air, with fireworks going off above him as the fans give a pop to this. Hightower then make his way down to the ring, not interacting with the fans as he normally does, but glaring straight at "The Player Andrew Johnston the whole way down to the ring. He gets up on the ring apron, and before entering through the ropes he wipes his feet on the mat, then enters the ring, taking off his sunglasses and handing them to Francine as she exits the ring, then he heads right for Andrew Johnston, and the two stand two to toe in the ring glaring at each other, Hightower with an angry expression on his face and The Player with a cocky smile on his face as he looks up into the face of Hightower. The music finally dies down as the referee signals for the opening bell.] DING! DING! DING! Jim Robson: The Player is so full of himself......look at him standing there in front of Hightower like he is untouchable! Jack Anderson: That's because he is Jim! Tonight history will repeat itself! [Both men stand in the middle of the ring as The Player continues to talk trash to Hightower, who in return just glares down with a harsh intensity at Andrew Johnston.] Jim Robson: Well folks the bell has sounded, but neither man has made an attempt to... [The crowd gasps in shock as The Player slaps Hightower across the face, for no apparent reason. Hightower keeps his head titled to the right, not moving a muscle as The Player flashes an arrogant smile. After a few moments Hightower looks right back at The Player and a snarl forms in his face as he thrusts forward with his hand and grabs the throat of The Player.] Jim Robson: And now the action is over and Hightower goes for The Fall From Grace... but no Andrew Johnston kicks out the left knee of Hightower who right away crumbles to the mat. [The fans boo The Player as he starts to kick away at the left knee of Hightower, not allowing his opponent a chance to get back to his feet.] Jack Anderson: That's a smart move there by The Player... not only is he keeping his opponent grounded... but he is also going for a weakness because as we all know Hightower has had a history with his left knee giving him problems, and after his match last year with The Player, that left knee got destroyed and had to have major reconstructive surgery on it... and I don't care what that druggie says there is no way that his knee is back at 100%, it never will be! And The Player also knows this and he's taking advantage of that fact right now! Jim Robson: I almost find it not being far but that's just me! The Player still taking advantage of that knee kicking madly away at it, he grabs the leg of Hightower now and starts kicking at the back of the knee. [The crowd continues to boo as Hightower yells in agony, holding his knee and trying to fend off the attack by Andrew Johnston.] Jim Robson: An Elbow Crusher now into the knee of Hightower... and another! Jack Anderson: I hope he rips that knee off... come on AJ make him sequel like a pig! Jim Robson: AJ bounces off the ropes... Sliding Dropkick to the kn... NO... Hightower moves out of the way in time! [Fans give a small pop as Hightower gets to his feet as quickly as possible, but he is favouring his left knee as The Player gets to his feet and charges at Hightower, who nails The Player with a right hand dropping him down on the mat.] Jim Robson: Hightower drags AJ to his feet... Irish Whip to the ropes... AND THE PLAYER OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A FLYING HEAD!!! [Heel pop from the crowd.] Jack Anderson: Very impressive considering that The Player is not a cruiserweight! It's because of his different styles and extreme skill that he can do a move like that with ease, which not many people his size can do! Jim Robson: Agreed! Hightower gets up and charges at The Player... but The Player counters with an impressive Belly-to-Belly Overhead Suplex! Jack Anderson: Nicely executed by Andrew Johnston! Jim Robson: The Player allows Hightower to slowly get to his feet... then nails him with a right to the jaw sending Hightower staggering back into the corner. The Player stalks Hightower and starts kicking away at that left knee! AJ hooks the legs through the ropes and starts wrenching on it now. You can see the pain on Hightower's face right now as he nails AJ with forearms to the back... The Player backs off and nails Hightower with a jab to the jaw, and another one, and another one... The Player winds up for a big right right... but no it's blocked by Hightower who retaliates with a big right-hand of his own sending Andrew Johnston staggering back... and another one... Hightower with an Irish Whip sending The Player to the ropes... and a HUGE Clothesline sends AJ to the mat. Hightower starts stomping away now on Andrew Johnston... he picks him up again another Irish Whip to the ropes... BIG BOOT TO THE FACE AND THE PLAYER GOES DOWN! [The fans give a big pop as Hightower takes a few steps back, holding his knee and then grimacing in pain.] Jack Anderson: See that bad knee has just become a big time factor in this match, and if it bothering Hightower this early in the match, then he can't last long! Jim Robson: Hightower goes to pick up The Player... but Andrew Johnston with a thumb to the eye... and a nice Dropkick by The Player now! He kneels over Hightower and starts drilling him with right hands like a madman possessed! He finally brings Hightower to his feet... NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX INTO A PIN... REF: One . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tw....... Jim Robson: No kickout by Hightower! [Fans pop as Hightower has his shoulder raised off of the mat.] Jack Anderson: Damnit that was a 3 ref... a 3!!! Jim Robson: No it wasn't Jack! The Player drags Hightower to his feet... sets him up... my gawd Powerbomb on Hightower... and wait now he lifts Hightower back up in that Powerbomb position, flips him onto his shoulders... DEATH VALLEY DRIVER BY THE PLAYER!!! Jack Anderson: Yes... yes... it's over right there folks... it's The Final Countdown and here's the cover... REF: One . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Two . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thr . . . . . . . . . . [Fans pop!] Jim Robson: NO HIGHTOWER ONCE AGAIN KICKSOUT FROM A PINNING SITUATION!!! Jack Anderson: How the hell did he manage to do that?!?!? Nobody and I mean nobody has ever kicked out of that move before ever! Jim Robson: Well there's a first for everything! [The Player looks stunned as he looks down at Hightower and the fans cheer in support of Hightower, "pushing" him to get to his feet. The Player slowly gets to his feet, and once again signals for The Final Countdown (Powerbomb/DVD).] Jim Robson: The Player has Hightower set up, here comes the Powerbomb... NO NO NO HIGHTOWER COUNTERS WITH A HURRICARANNA!?!?!?!?!?! [The fans give a huge pop as they haven't seen Hightower do that move since when he first entered the I/W.] Jack Anderson: HOW THE HELL... HOW THE HELL DID HE DO THAT!!!!! Jim Robson: Hightower pulling out an old school move that I haven't seen in 4 years! Andrew Johnston is shocked as he staggers to his feet... Hightower with a boot the gut... Gut Wrench Suplex by Hightower!! Hightower immediately back to his feet and he sets The Player up... and he holds him up in the air in a Vertical Suplex... Jack Anderson: One one-thousand, two one-thousand, three one-thousand, four one-thousand, five one-thousand... holy s**t how long is he gonna hold him up there for!! Jim Robson: ...and finally he drops him down to the canvas!!! Hightower is not done yet... he exits the ring and climbs the turnbuckle and waits for The Player to get back up to his feet... FLYING CLOTHESLINE FROM THE TOP ROPE BY HIGHTOWER!!! [The fans pop.] Jack Anderson: Damn when did Hightower get all these skills! Jim Robson: Hightower is on fire right now... Irish Whip to the ropes... SPINNING SIDEWALK SLAM BY HIGHTOWER!!! Jack Anderson: why is he not pinning him!! Jim Robson: Because Jack he's trying to teach his former student a lesson!! Irish Whip to the corner now... Hightower with a Stinger Splash in the corner!!! He goes for the cover... REF: One . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Two . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thre.......... Jack Anderson: No thank god The Player kicks out!!!! Jim Robson: Hightower not stopping as he is highly aggressive right now... he sends The Player to the corner again for another Stinger Splash, but no The Player moves out of the way and Hightower goes crashing chest first into the turnbuckle... and The Player with a Dropkick from behind sending Hightower into the turnbuckle again as he slumps over it, the breath taken out of him... AJ slides out of the ring....grabs the legs of Hightower and trips him up... and he rams the knee of Hightower right into that ring post! [The crowd boo's as The Player continues to ram Hightower's knee into the ring post over and over and over again, at least five times, and then taunts the crowd as they heavily boo him, and Hightower yells in pain as he holds his knee. Then The Player drags Hightower out of the ring and kicks away at the knee of Hightower once again. Then he walks away and looks under the ring, and comes out with a trash can.] Jim Robson: No he's not going to... Jack Anderson: Yes he is Jim and remember anything and I mean anything here is legal! Jim Robson: my gawd the player nails Hightower on the head with that trash can... but Hightower is still standing... AND ANOTHER SHOT WITH THE TRASH CAN AND HIGHTOWER IS STILL ON HIS FEET!!! [Pop from the fans as The Player looks surprised as Hightower staggers, a glazed looked in his eyes.] Jack Anderson: Yes but he's wobbly... he can't keep this up forever! Jim Robson: Andrew drops the trash can and grabs the lid... and nails Hightower across the head... but still he doesn't go down... AND AGAIN BUT STILL HIGHTOWER DOES NOT GO DOWN... HE'S STILL ON HIS FEET!!! Jack Anderson: HOW THE HELL IS HE STILL STANDING!?!?!? Jim Robson: The Player in frustration grabs the chair from the time keeper and charges at Hightower... AND A FLYING CHAIR SHOT FINALLY TAKES HIGHTOWER DOWN!!!! [The fans give a heel pop as The Player kneels on the ground wiping sweat from his forehead, the look of surprise still on his face as he can't believe Hightower took so many shots to the head before falling. The camera zooms into Hightower's face, and it is bloodied up from the chair shot.] Jim Robson: Hightower's busted open!!! Jack Anderson: Great AJ you made him bleed like a stuck pig... NOW MAKE HIM SQUEAL LIKE A PIG! HA! [The Player gets to his feet and grabs the chair, putting Hightower's knee into the chair, and then The Player slides into the ring and climbs to the top ropes.] Jack Anderson: Yes yes do it... DO IT!!! [The fans give a shock pop and start to loudly boo The Player and he jumps down onto the chair, causing it to smash Hightower's knee, who starts screaming in pain and flopping around on the ground in utter pain as he holds his knee. The referee gets The Player to back off as he goes to see if Hightower is able to continue.] Jim Robson: That was just sick, how could The Player even think of doing that to another human being!!!! He is too full of himself he's standing there smiling damnit!!! Jack Anderson: Well for starters he did this because anything goes, and he is out to make sure that Hightower is never able to walk again! And second of all... of course The Player is smiling I am too and I'm not the one who is getting to kick the s**t out of Hightower! [The Player seems to once again embrace the boo's of the crowd and bows to them all, which prompts even more booing from the crowd. Then The Player goes over to the announcers table and clears it of everything except for one monitor. Then he advances forward, tossing the referee out of the way and grabbing Hightower by the hair and dragging him over to the announcers table and throws Hightower onto it, giving him a few hard right hands to the head where Hightower is bleeding. Then he proceeds to climb up onto the table with Hightower.] Jim Robson: The Player is up here on the table in front of us....he grabs the legs of Hightower... [The fans boo like mad now.] JIM ROBSON: THE PLAYER IS PUTTING HIGHTOWER IN THE CANADIAN CLASSIC!!!!!! Jack Anderson: THIS IS GREAT... THIS IS JUST GREAT!!! The Player is using Hightower's own move against him... and this is legal too no countouts or nothing... talk about adding insult to injury! [Hightower screams in complete agony but does not tap as The Player looks back down at him and yells "Tap Bitch tap!", and the crowd is still booing The Player.] Jim Robson: Andrew Johnston is not letting go... he's determined to make Hightower suffer, and he is doing a damn good job of it right now!!!! Jack Anderson: This is great, the end of Hightower and the killing blow is that Canadian Classic... man I am loving every minute of this!!! [The Player continues to arch back on the hold, wrenching on Hightower's knee. After a while The Player finally releases the hold, satisfied with the damage he has done. The he picks Hightower up once again, setting him up for a Pedigree with Hightower's head right above the monitor.] Jim Robson: The Player with a Pedigree on Hightower... AND THE TABLE BREAKS UNDERNEATH THEM AT THE SAME TIME!!! [The fans give a big heel pop as both men lay on the ground, but The Player gets up rather quickly, a bit stunned that the table broke, as he looks at Hightower out is out cold, and busted up even more from having his head smashed into the monitor. Andrew flashes a grin as he sees the damage he has done.] Jack Anderson: That's it... it's over right then and there!!! Finish him off AJ it's time to get rid of this scum!!! [Instead of trying to pin Hightower, The Player reaches under the ring and pulls out a table and slides it in the ring, which receives a heel pop from the crowd. He starts to get back in the ring but stops and looks back at Hightower who is being checked on by the ref, and The Players starts to grin and he reaches under the ring and grabs a second table, sliding it into the ring as well and finally getting back in the ring.] Jim Robson: Why is The Player doing this... I mean if he pins Hightower right now he's got the match won, but instead he's wasting time by setting up tables?!?!?! Jack Anderson: Easy it's simple math Jim... he wants to punish Hightower as well, besides look at Hightower, his knee is gone... he just got put through a table, he's received multiple chair shots, I say this match is just about over! [The Player positions one table in perfect position to the turnbuckle, and he slides out of the ring and grabs Hightower, who is still out cold, and throws him into the ring, proceeding to se him up on the table and then exits the ring and climbs to the top turnbuckle, standing there with impressive balance with his hands on his hips as he gloats to the fans, still knowing they hate him but not caring as he has an overly cocky smile on his face. Finally he changes his foot and leaps.] Jim Robson: Frog Splash by The Player... NO HIGHTOWER MOVES OUT OF THE WAY AND THE PLAYER GOES RIGHT THROUGH THE TABLE!!!!! Jack Anderson: NNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! [The fans give a huge pop for Hightower as both men lay motionless on the mat.] Jim Robson: Hightower dug down deep and found the strength and move out of the way to avoid that Frog Splash as The Player is down on the mat right now! Jack Anderson: Yes Jim but so is Hightower and he's taken more punishment than AJ has! [After 15 seconds both men start to stir and slowly, very slowly get back to their feet, staggering toward each other like they are 90 years old. The Player finally swings and connects with a right hand which staggers Hightower, but he retaliates with a punch of his own which in turn staggers The Player. They continue to trade punches as the fans go nuts.] Jim Robson: These two men are going toe-to-toe now trading blows back and forth and they don't look like they are stopping anytime soon!!! Jack Anderson: Come on AJ drop him and end this thing! [Finally Hightower gets the upper hand, drilling The Player with one final punch dropping him to the mat. Hightower staggers slightly, but regains his balance and slowly limps over to The Player and lifts him up to his feet, then drags him over to the other table that is set up. The fans go nuts as Hightower grabs The Player by the throat.] JIM ROBSON: FALL FROM GRACE CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE!!!!! [The fans go absolutely nuts now. Both men once again lay motionless as they have both had a lot taken out of them.] Jack Anderson: The Player is down... Hightower is down, how can both of these men go on?!?!?! Jim Robson: I don't know... it will be a miracle if they can continue! [The fans cheer as both men remain still, leaving the referee standing between the two unsure of what to do. Finally the men start to stir, but once again very slowly. As Hightower tries to put weight on his knee, he collapses as he puts too much weight on his leg. He tries to get up again, but The Player staggers over and nails him with a few right hands, rocking the big man.] Jim Robson: The Player bounces off the ropes and charges at Hightower... SPINNING SPINEBUSTER SLAM!!!! [The crowd gives a pop as Hightower stands up, grabbing the legs of The Player and quickly looking around the arena for approval from the fans, which they give him. Jim Robson: CANADIAN CLASSIC... HIGHTOWER HAS THE CANADIAN CLASSIC SHARPSHOOTER LOCKED IN TIGHT!!! Jack Anderson: Come on AJ you can do it... hold on you can beat this guy!!! Jim Robson: The Player is screaming but he's not giving up yet... NO HE TAPS, HE TAPS... IT'S OVER!!!!! Jack Anderson: NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! DING! DING! DING! FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen the winner of the match......... . . . H I G H T O W E R ! ! ! ["Boom" by P.O.D. plays and the fans go nuts as the referee raises Hightower arm, as he slowly tries to get up to his feet.] Jim Robson: HE DID IT... HIGHTOWER BEAT THE PLAYER AND GETS TO STAY IN THE I/W!!! Jack Anderson: No this is my worst nightmare come true no no no no! Jim Robson: HEY JACK DON'T FORGET THAT THE PLAYER CAN NEVER EVER COMEBACK TO THE I/W NOW!!! Jack Anderson: No why does this always have to happen to the good ones?!?! WHY?!?!?! [Hightower finally is able to get on his feet, and is dazed as he looks around the arena slowly at all the fans, his face caked in blood. He does a full 360, and then suddenly raises both arms in the air, getting another big pop from the fans, and slowly exits the ring with help from the referee, leaving The Player lying motionless in the middle of the ring.] Jim Robson: What a match, and even though he is getting help Hightower IS walking away from the ring, not being confined to a stretcher as The Player called for! Jack Anderson: This is the worst moment of my life! Jim Robson: Folks... Infinite Justice are backstage. They're getting ready for their World Tag Team title shot which is coming up next... lets go to then. [Fade in to a locker room at the United Center in Washington, DC. Seated on a bench and looking incredibly irate is none other than "Dixie" Davis Washington. He is tapping his foot impatiently and clenching and unclenching his fist. The scowl on his face says more than words ever could. He doesn't look like a guy who just won the chance to fight in a match for the IWF/WOW World Tag Team Championships. Conspicuously absent from the scene is Washington's tag team partner, Johnny Revere.] [Dixie begins to speak in his Virginia drawl.] DAVIS WASHINGTON: I ain't waiting for Johnny this time. I gotta say my piece while it is still fresh in my mind. I gotta say it while I can still feel the bruises that I received battling THREE of the top tag teams in the world building up under my skin. I gotta say it while the sound of THE TRIFECTA screwing us over is still ringing in my ears." [Dixie stands up, and, turning, kicks over the bench behind him.] DAVIS WASHINGTON: If I was pissed off before, I must be about ready to burst now. I see it wasn't good enough for us to be stuck in a match with three other teams. Certain people whose names I need not mention thought that would be good enough to hold Infinite Justice down. But we proved them wrong. We kept it together and took on six other men, and we beat them all. The Ewiaks were good enough-- [Did Davis Washington just roll his eyes?] DAVIS WASHINGTON: --to take out Intent to Injure, and then I dealt with the rest myself. Oh, sure, Allen got the pin, but I was the one who saved the day on that play, make no mistake. And then, finally, I put Morlock in his place to end it all. When that happened, I know that TRAVERS AND THOMPSON realized the jig was up. [Washington drags his hand down the front of his face.] DAVIS WASHINGTON: But they are smart men. I'll give them that much. They realized they couldn't beat us. So they took the coward's way. They turned tail and ran. They dropped the belts like bad habits. I'll bet you'll hear them next week crowing about how they never got beat for the titles. [Washington begins to pace.] DAVIS WASHINGTON: But I am okay with that. I know people like that, and I know they don't stand and fight. They talk big, but when it comes time to leave the words to the poets they hightail it on outta there. What gets my goat is that they stick us in a match against A TEAM WE ALREADY BEAT. A team that I already pinned for the one, two, and three. By all rights, I should be polishing my first piece of I/W gold right now. But instead, two jackasses thought they'd have a bit of fun with us. Oh, they're smart guys. Not only do they not have to fight us in a tag match, but we'll be all tuckered out for the big main event of the evening. They're killing two birds with one stone. [Dixie moves in close to the camera, pointing.] DAVIS WASHINGTON: But it ain't going to work this time, you scalawags. We're gonna throw this one right back in your face. We're going to win those tag team titles. I beat the Down South Connection once before, and lord if I ain't going to do it again. And then I'm going to make it my personal goal to see that both TRAVERS and THOMPSON are sitting in the locker room licking their wounds when the new I/W champion is crowned. It ain't about winning anymore. It's about a southern man's honour. And trust me, T and T... That ain't something you mess with. [Dixie pushes past the camera man and heads out the door. Only seconds later, Johnny Revere enters.] JOHNNY REVERE: Dixie? [Johnny looks in, and sees the camera but no Davis Washington.] JOHNNY REVERE: I haven't seen him since our match. Must be out cooling off. [Johnny regards the camera for a moment, then speaks again.] JOHNNY REVERE: But I may as well make use of you, since you came all this way. I had a few things I wanted to get off my chest. First of all, I wanted to congratulate all the other teams. Everyone did their best, and Infinite Justice just happened to be the team that got the big break. If we manage to capture the belts on July 4, you can be sure that we'll be fighting champions, and you'll all get your shot. [Johnny grins for a moment, and looks up briefly before returning his gaze to the camera.] JOHNNY REVERE: But I have to admit, it seems kind of like fate. July the Fourth. The birthday of the greatest nation in the world, and it happens to coincide with Infinite Justice's first ever chance at the gold. It is too perfect. The birthday of the land of opportunity and the beginning of what will hopefully be a great championship run. [But, Johnny's grin fades as quickly as it appeared.] JOHNNY REVERE: I also wanted to say something else, though. I wish I could say I was proud of the way we won tonight. But I am not. I was the legal man. In fact, I just got back from talking to the head referee about that. However, the general consensus is that we'll sort it out on Independence Day. Since TRAVERS and THOMPSON were gracious enough to step aside and let some new blood fight for the belts, it is kind of a moot point. Travers, Thompson, I completely understand and appreciate your decision. In fact, you've saved me a lot of guilt. [Johnny slowly grins again.] JOHNNY REVERE: I suppose that America is also the land of second chances. And, on Independence Day, Infinite Justice will be getting a second chance to prove we're the best in the world. We may have one here at Egos and Icons, but we sure didn't look like the best. On July Fourth, we will. [Johnny thanks the cameraman and marches out of the locker room as the scene fades out. We go back to ringside.] ============================================================ EGOS & ICONS: Independence Day Rumble continues in part 4... Jim Robson: You ready for tag team action, Jack? More importantly, are you ready to crown new tag team champions!? Jack Anderson: I'd rather have a beer. Jim Robson: Come on. These titles have survived trying times. There was a time when they weren't even around! But ever since they were brought back they've proven to be the most difficult championship in I/W to keep track of. They're very slippery! Jack Anderson: Well I have no doubt in my mind that Travers and Thompson would've held them _forever_ if it weren't for their commendable world title aspirations. Jim Robson: Alright, Jack. Whatever you say. Tonight though, it'll be the Down South Connection, who fell victim three days ago to their opponents _tonight_, the number one contenders ... Inifinite Justice. Can they do it again, Jack? Jack Anderson: Absolutely not. Morlock and Allen despise the taste of defeat, so don't be surprised to see them spit it right back in Revere and Washington's faces tonight. Jim Robson: Francine's standing by with the introductions. _____ ___ ___ | ____( _ ) |_ _|-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 -=-=-=-=-=-=-= | _| / _ \/\| | WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH | |__| (_> <| | Infinite Justice vs Down South Connection |_____\___/\/___|=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 =-=-=-=-=-=-=- ---------------------------> WRITER: Brian <---------------------------- FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen ... the following tag team contest is for the _vacant_ IWF/WOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!!! [POP!!] FRANCINE: Introducing first ... [All of the sudden "Points of Authority" by Linkin Park begins to blare over the PA system in the arena as the fans begin to let out a nice sized heel pop. The lights in the arena now begin to flash from there normal bright white to an almost cold, dark blue.] #Forfeit the game Before somebody else Takes you out of the frame# #Puts your name to shame Cover up your face You can't run the race# #The pace is too fast You just can't last# [The entrance ramp itself suddenly becomes taken over by a large cloud of smoke. As the smoke begins to clear after a few moments the crowd lets out a HUGE HEEL POP as none other than both members of Down South Connection, Matt Allen and Kenneth Morlock, are standing there. Both men stand atop the entrance ramp for a few moments soaking in the boo's from the fans. Both men are wearing there normal wrestling attire. Allen with black wrestling tights that read "Expert" down the left and the right leg. He also wears a pair of black boots that read DSC on both boots. Morlock with dark blue leg tights that read "NEW" down the right leg, and "NEW" down the left leg both in white letters. Across the butt of the tights read "LEGEND" in white letters. Morlock and Allen walk right past the fans almost throwing themselves over the railing to get a touch of them, as they both chuckle to themselves and point and smirk. Both men make it to the ring apron as Kenneth Morlock quickly slides into the ring and bounces to his feet and Allen takes a huge step right to the apron and a huge step over the top turnbuckle and into the ring.] #You love the things I say I'll do-# #The way I'll hurt myself again just to get back at you# #You take away when I give in# #My life My pride is broken# [Kenneth Morlock and Matt Allen stand in the middle of the ring. Morlock stands right in front of Allen and holds his arms out to the side as Allen throws both of his arms high into the air drawing an even greater HEEL POP that before.] #You like to think you're never wrong# #You want to act like you're someone# #You want someone to hurt like you# #You want to share what you've been through# #You live what you learn# FRANCINE: And their opponents ... When he gets to the ring side area, he slaps hands with a few fans before throwing his hat into the crowd, revealing his long blonde hair. He then jumps up onto the apron and shouts out a rebel yell before stepping into the ring.] FRANCINE: Together they are ... ... ... I N F I N I T E J U S T I C E ! ! ! Jim Robson: Allen's gonna start for the Down South Connection. Looks like they're going to try and take the upper hand through some raw power. Jack Anderson: And it's going to be "Dixie" Davis for Infinite Justice. DING DING DING Jim Robson: Wow. Look at the difference in height here. At six-foot-one, Washington's no slouch. Jack Anderson: Don't sell him short, Robson. He's a _tremendous_ slouch. Jim Robson: I ... ugh. Look at Allen. He's a beast. Six-eleven, three hundred and ten pounds of raw power. He was never on the high school wrestling team. He doesn't know an armbar from a singles bar. But man, he's a _bully_. He'll just beat you to death. Jack Anderson: Jim ... are you sprung? Jim Robson: STOP! [POP!] [Allen and Washington lock up in the center of the ring.] Jim Robson: Here we go! This has the potential to be one of the most exciting tag team title matches in quite a while. Allen gives Washington a hard shove off that rolls him backward across the canvas! [Washington rolls onto his knees in his team's corner. Johnny Revere leans in with some encouragement. Allen remains in place, beating his chest with his fist and snarling.] Jim Robson: Washington, giving up ninety-five pounds here, gives it another go. You know today is both Washington _and_ Revere's birthday, Jack? Jack Anderson: Yep. It's official. They're a couple of yankin' doodles. Jim Robson: Oh, come on, Jack. What a celebration for them it would be if they were able to capture the tag team titles, and on the birthday of the country they hold so dear. Washington dives into another collar-and-elbow tie up. No! He fakes his way into a go-behind waistlock! German sup--Nuh uh! He can't lift Allen off the mat! [Allen reaches back and cups Washington under his thighs. He hoists him up into a piggyback position and jogs backwards.] [CLANG!] Jim Robson: He squashes Washington! [He turns and holds Washington against the turnbuckle by the neck.] Jim Robson: Allen clubs him across the chest with a crushing forearm smash! That'll take the steam out of anybody! Oh! Another one! He wraps his arms around Washington's rib cage and hoists him up. [CLANG!] Jim Robson: He absolutely creams him into the turnbuckles! Maintaining that bear hug, Allen slowly turns. [BOOM!] Jim Robson: Sidewalk slam! Wow. It's pretty much academic in there for Allen. He brings Washington into a fireman's carry. Into an airplane spin! Jack Anderson: Round n' round n' round he goes ... [BOOM!] Jim Robson: _OH MAN_! What was _that_!? [Allen let Washington's torso slide down his back, then wrapped his arm around his neck and brought him down.] Jim Robson: A fireman's carry into an emerald fusion? That's what it looked like. My word. Allen tags Morlock in for reason's I just cannot fathom. He could've won the tag team titles right there! Allen picks up Washington as Morlock strikes up the band in the corner for some chin music. Morlock gallops out! [Allen drops down with a leg sweep while Morlock throws a superkick.] Jim Robson: SOUTHERN ELIMINATION! But Washington put up a defense! He grabbed Morlock's foot and blocked the kick, but Allen still caught him with the sweep! Allen's being escorted out of the ring as Morlock throws a tantrum over being cut off. He fires Washington into the ropes ... Washington ducks as Morlock leapfrogs ... Washington comes right back ... and he legdrops Morlock in the knee! The New Legend goes down a leg and Washington kicks him upside the head! Now's his chance to catch a breather if he wants it. [Washington scurries toward his corner and tags in Johnny Revere.] Jim Robson: He's using his head. And _now_ we have the grapplers in there. Both of these men were high school standouts on the mats, and Revere went on to become an All-American on college. Morlock, as usual, fed his ego by learning the ropes straight out of high school. Go to _school_, kids, even if you want to be a professional wrestler! Revere has a degree in American History to fall back on. Morlock's got an old green recliner to fall back on if all this ends tomorrow. Jack Anderson: I'd like to see one of these guys tackle Justin Arcola. What an exhibition that'd be. Jim Robson: That'd be something else. Revere immediately drapes himself over Morlock's back in an amateur style maneuver. Oh, he puts Morlock on his back! He's holding him down! 1 . . . 2 . . . [Not this early.] Jim Robson: Morlock bridges up! Revere shoves him back down! 1 . . . 2 . . . [Thanks for trying.] Jim Robson: Morlock bridges again! Revere clasps both his hands with Morlock's now. And Morlock kips up! Now that's power! He must've been hitting the weights with Allen recently. Morlock has risen to both feet! It's a test of strength! Oh! Morlock kicks Revere in the bread basket! He jerks his hands back and spins around! [UUUHH!!] Jim Robson: He catches Revere upside the head with a roundhouse elbow! [Revere stumbles to the side, but Morlock grabs him by the arm and jerks him back into a front face lock.] Jim Robson: Morlock cradles the the leg. [BOOM!] Jim Robson: CRADLE BRIDGE SUPLEX! THIS SHOULD DO IT! 1 . . . 2 . . . [Kickout!] Jim Robson: No! Morlock _immediately_ scoops Revere up at his side. Pendelum back breaker! And now Morlock tags in the Expert! Jack Anderson: Man, did you ever see the Experts with John Travolta? Jim Robson: What? Jack Anderson: I'm telling you ... if there were comedy gold, that movie would've been Fort Knox. Jim Robson: Christ almi--nevermind. Morlock locks Revere's legs beneath his arms. He slingshots him back to Allen! [UUUHH!!] Jim Robson: BIG LARIAT! That's the Soldier's Misfortune! Allen makes the cover! 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . [So close!] Jim Robson: Davis Washington runs through the ring to break it up! Revere may not be happy to find out about that. He's the kind of guy who'd rather lose cleanly than use any outside assistance. Jack Anderson: Then why does he have a tag team partner? Jim Robson: I hear it started in high school. Long story. Jack Anderson: Aaahh, the experimentation years. Jim Robson: You are _so_ weird. Allen picks up Revere and surely intends to make him pay for Washington's sin. [Allen hooks him in a reverse facelock. He grabs Revere's tights and jerks him into the air. Instead of falling backward, he lets Revere fall back the way he came, only Allen drops to one knee and curves Revere's body so that his back lands across it.] Jim Robson: Inverted face lock back breaker drop! He could've broken him in half! Revere's in some serious discomfort. Allen picks him up. He turns him completely upside down. Cups Revere beneath the thighs. Stump piledriver! Revere is giving up a lot less physically than Washington did, but he still looks like a rag doll in there with Allen. Allen shoots him into the corner! But Washington is right there. He reaches in and tags Revere, but I don't think Allen noticed! ALLEN STORMS IN ... [CLANG!] [POP!] Jim Robson: Washington jerked Revere out of harm's way at the last second! Allen's dazed! Washington dropkicks him into the corner from behind! [Washington grabs the top rop and leaps up, tucking his legs beneath Allen's armpits and pulling him toward the ropes.] Jim Robson: Tarantula! Tarantula! Allen's caught in Washington's web! [Referee Michael Hall applies the count.] 1 . . 2 . . 3 . . 4 . . Jim Robson: Washington releases the hold. He rolls into the ring from the apron as Allen hits his knees. Washington grabs a handful of his hair and drives him face first into the canvas! Washington scurries up to the top turnbuckle. . . . [BOOM!] Jim Robson: FROG SPLASH across the back of Allen! He rolls him over and hooks the leg! He just may have taken the wind out of the Expert's sails! 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . [No!] Jim Robson: And there came Morlock, with a boot to the head, to return the favor for Washington's interference earlier! Washington's up, and he's going right after Morlock! He grabs his tights before he can get through the ropes! OH DEAR! x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x Jack Anderson: PARENTS, PUT THE KIDS TO BED! Jim Robson: Washington exposed Morlock! Washington exposed Morlock! [The New Legend hops around the ring with one hand cupping his crotch. The other tugging at his tights from behind. Wait a second ... _one hand_? Hah!] Jack Anderson: Someone give him a hand! Jim Robson: Looks like he's got that covered! Hah hah! And finally he gets those tights back up, averting disaster _and_ our eyes at the same time. Morlock turns around, and just in time to get slugged by Washington! He backs Morlock into a corner with right hands! [As Morlock is stunned, Washington cups his own crotch with _both_ hands and talks some garbage. Then ... ] Jim Robson: Washington uppercuts Morlock right over the top rope! Morlock hits the apron and then the floor! Watch out, Dixie! Behind you! [It's Allen!] Jim Robson: Washington ducks a clothesline! He turns and shoves Allen back into the corner! MONKEY FLIP! Allen sails to the center of the ring! Washington climbs to the top turnbuckle! [Washington lifts his hand to his tightened face and fiercely salutes the crowd.] Jim Robson: HE'S GOING FOR THE "STARS AND BARS" SHOOTING STAR PRESS! IF HE HITS IT, IT'LL BE ALL SHE WROTE! . . . x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x . . . [BOOM!!] Jim Robson: MORLOCK SHOVED HIM OFF! WASHINGTON PLUMMETED FACE FIRST INTO THE CANVAS! [Morlock climbs out of the ring, grabs Washington's feet, and tugs him toward the ring post. He keeps the right leg straight, while bending the left leg across the knee.] [GASP!] Jim Robson: FIGURE FOUR! FIGURE FOUR! MORLOCK'S HANGING UPSIDE DOWN, TEARING WASHINGTON'S LEGS APART! WASHINGTON'S SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER! HE'S IN AGONY! Jack Anderson: Here comes Matt Allen with his contribution! Jim Robson: He stomps Washington in the head! Repeatedly, as Morlock applies more pressure! BUT HERE COMES JOHNNY REVERE! [He dashes around the ring and cuts a path straight for Morlock.] [POP!] Jim Robson: Revere stomps Morlock across the head! One more time breaks the hold! Matt Allen drags Washington back into the center of the ring. Revere parts ways with Morlock and heads back to his own corner. He doesn't want to bend the rules anymore than he has to. Allen lashes Washington out toward the ropes ... but Washgton can't make it! His leg buckles and he crumbles to the mat! Allen's certainly going to captialize on this. He reaches down for--HOLD ON! 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!! [Kickout!] 3!!! 3!!! Jim Robson: WASHINGTON GOT HIM! HE GOT HIM WITH AN INSIDE CRADLE! WE HAVE NEW ... WE HAVE ... what? No? [Hall raises two fingers high into the air to clear up any confusion.] Jim Robson: You're kidding me! That was _three_! Jack Anderson: Hah hah! You are _sorely_ mistaken, my friend. Jim Robson: That's so bogus! I saw three! I clearly saw three! Jack Anderson: Oh you're blind as a bat, Robson. You don't see _anything_ clearly. Aren't you, like, eighty or something? Jim Robson: I'm a spry sixty-one, Jack! And I could still see a flea on a dog's head from five hundred yards, and that three count might as well have been one! Allen drops an elbow across his chest! He is certainly not happy about coming so close to being defeated by Infinite Justice twice in four days. He whips Washington across the-no! He yanks him back! BUT WASHINGTON SLIDES BETWEEN HIS LEGS! [POP!] Jim Robson: Allen turns around and finds a wheel kick waiting for him! Washington hobbles toward his partner! HE DIVES! . . . [HOT TAG POP!!!] Jim Robson: AND HERE COMES JOHNNY REVERE! Allen takes a running start at him! [BOOM!] Jim Robson: REVERE SNARES HIM WITH A POWERSLAM! He yanks Allen to his feet and takes him to the corner. He sits him on the top turnbuckle, facing the crowd. Revere climbs up behind him and locks his arms behind his head. REVERE JERKS HIM UP WITH ALL HE'S GOT! [BA-BOOM!!!] [POP!!!] Jim Robson: SUPER FULL NELSON SLAM!! REVERE CAME TO _FIGHT_! [Fans] JOH-NNY!!! JOH-NNY!!! JOH-NNY!!! JOH-NNY!!! JOH-NNY!!! JOH-NNY!!! Jim Robson: These fans are behind him, and he seems to be feeding right off of it! He whips Allen into the ropes! THESZ PRESS! He takes him down and dumps a set of right hands all over his face! He jumps up and--WHOA! REVERE DECKED MORLOCK RIGHT OFF THE APRON! That's _very_ uncharacteristic of the proud American! It just goes to show what those tag titles mean to these two teams! He comes back to grab the dazed Matt Allen from behind. Side Russian legsweep! He goes to the second rope ... [BOOM!] Jim Robson: Knee-drop across the skull! And now Revere's heading toward the corner! He may be ready to finish Allen off! [BOOOOOOOO!!!] Jim Robson: He's not gonna get the chance! Kenneth Morlock reached in and pulled him out of the ring! He's pummeling Revere on the outside now! Morlock wants some payback! Chad Allen's up, and he's climbing out to help! Jack Anderson: Wait! Here comes Washington! Jim Robson: That's as far as he's going to let Allen get! He pulls him back in and drills him! Ooh! Allen kicks him right in the gut, lifting Dixie's feet right off the mat! But Washington won't back down! He shoulderblocks Allen in the abdomen, taking him into the turnbuckles! [CLANG!] Jack Anderson: Morlock fired Revere into the railing on the outside! Jim Robson: All hell has broken loose here! Allen's clubbing Washington across the back, but the much smaller man is firing back into Allen's ribs! He's not backing down for one second! Jack Anderson: Morlock's got a chair! [CLING-ING!] Jack Anderson: He _narrowly_ missed taking Revere's head off! He got a piece of the railing instead, and it stung the bejeezus out of his hands! Revere grabs Morlock and throws him back into the ring. What is _up_ with that kid? Jim Robson: He likes to win by the rules, Jack! Jack Anderson: If you're not gonna cheat ... what's the point? Jim Robson: It figures that would be your philosophy. Revere fires Morlock into a corner! He looks over his shoulder and finds Washington with the upper hand, aftering tiring Allen out! He used the old Rope-A-Dope tactic! Washington sends Allen toward the center! Revere lets Morlock fly! THEY'RE GONNA COLLIDE! [UUUHH!] Jim Robson: _Nasty_! Morlock's forehead connected with Allen's jaw! The Down South Connection are in a state of shock! Jack Anderson: Who are the legal men here!? Jim Robson: Umm ... Allen and uh ... whoa! Washington dropkicks Allen from behind, and into his own partner! Morlock falls back into-- [GASP!] Jim Robson: MICHAEL HALL! He inadvertantly took out the referee! This whole thing is just falling to shambles! Washington's trying to get his partner to help him out with Allen, but Revere seems more interested in the condition of Michael Hall! Jack Anderson: That Washington has _got_ to ge ta new partner. Revere is costing them some huge opportunities with his "my crap don't stink" act! Jim Robson: Washington with a right hand! BLOCKED BY ALLEN! [SLAP!] Jim Robson: Allen clamps a hand around Washington's throat! HE BRINGS HIM UP! . . . [BOOM!] Jim Robson: And _DOWN_ with a violent chokeslam! Allen turns his attention to Revere! He wraps his arm around his neck from behind and jerks him away from Hall! [The crowd buzzes and looks toward the aisle.] Jim Robson: It's Geoff Cartwright! This is the second time he's had to cover for another referee at Egos & Icons! Once in War Games, and now this! Allen whips Revere into the ropes ... they spit him right back ... Revere stops and grabs Allen's leg off a big boot attempt! ... Dragonscrew legwhip! ALLEN GOES TUMBLING OUT OF THE RING! Revere returns to check on Michael Hall! Jack Anderson: What is _wrong_ with that kid!? Jim Robson: Hold on! Morlock grabs Revere from behind! He spins him around! He throws a right! REVERE BLOCKS IT! [BOOM!] Jim Robson: SIT-DOWN FACEBUSTER! Revere dashes to the top rope! [Revere places his hand over his heart briefly.] . . . x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x [FINISHER POP!!!!] Jim Robson: "OLD GLORY" FROG SPLASH!!! REVERE HOOKS THE LEG!! CARTWRIGHT COUNTS IT OFF!! 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3!!! 3!!! 3!!! DING DING DING Jim Robson: THERE'S NO MISTAKING _THAT_! WE HAVE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! INFINITE JUSTICE ARE THE NEW IWF/WOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!! FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen ... the winners of this match ... and _NEW_ IWF/WOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ... ["Battle Hymn of the Republic" begins ... ] [ ... but suddenly stops.] Jim Robson: What the ... what's going on here? [Michael Hall has recovered, and he's debating something with Geoff Cartwright.] Jim Robson: The two referees are having a discussion here, and Johnny Revere looks very interested in what it's about. I think we have a problem here. Jack Anderson: I know what the problem is. Jim Robson: Hold on, Jack. Geoff Cartwright is nodding and Michael Hall is giving Francine some information. She has an announcement. FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen, I have just been informed by referee Michael Hall that the man who was pinned ... Kenneth Morlock ... was _not_ the legal man in the ring! This match ... ... WILL _CONTINUE_!! [BOOOOOOOOOO!!!] Jim Robson: A _very_ unpopular decision! These fans were more than happy to go home knowing Infinite Justice were the new tag team champions! Jack Anderson: I could've told you Morlock wasn't legal. Jim Robson: Revere is questioning this decision. He is _really_ upset! [Matt Allen folds up a chair outside and slides it in under the bottom rope.] Jim Robson: Allen's got something up his sleeve! He climbs into the ring and grabs Revere from behind! He's going to piledrive him onto the chair! He's gonna ... [BANG!] Jim Robson: REVERE BACK BODY DROPPED ALLEN ONTO THE CHAIR! NOW WE'VE GOT A LEGAL MAN! REVERE GOES FOR THE P--No! No wait! He sees what happened! He's backing off! He doesn't want to pin him after inaverdently using the chair! It wasn't your fault, Revere! Just pin him! He brought it on himself! [Morlock recovers, spins Revere around, and kicks him in the stomach.] Jim Robson: __THE LOCK DOWN__!! MORLOCK PULLS ALLEN ON TOP OF REVERE!! 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3!!! DING DING DING Jack Anderson: Now _that_ is official! Jim Robson: That's a bunch of _crap_ is what it is! FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen ... the winners of this match ... and _NEW_ IWF/WOW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD ... [Points of Authority by Linkin Park begins ... ] ... and continues.] ... T H E D O W N S O U T H C O N N E C T I O N ! ! ! ! ! [BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!] Jack Anderson: The _two time_ IWF/WOW World Tag Team Champions! The belts are back where they belong! Jim Robson: They're surrounded in controversy, Jack! Infinite Justice deserve a rematch! This is a travesty! This is no better than Travers and Thompson holding the gold! Jack Anderson: Well _I'm_ going home happy. Now all I need to see is Nate McMannis win the heavyweight championship and I'll be a pig in slop! Jim Robson: Well you're halfway there. More action ahead, folks! [Morlock and Allen grabs their tag team titles and walk smugly, yet exhaustedly, up the aisle.] ============================================================ EGOS & ICONS: Independence Day Rumble continues in part 5... Jim Robson: There are your new World Tag Team Champions. Jack Anderson: Oh yeah. Jim Robson: Well Jack, you were just saying how you wanted McMannis win... well, lets hear from him now! [The camera cuts to the backstage area. Anthony Edwards is standing in front of the camera, wearing a tux.] Anthony Edwards: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my... pleasure, I suppose... to interview this man. [The camera pans out, and we see "Suicidal" Nate McMannis. McMannis is staring at Edwards, not paying any mind to the camera in front of him. He has no expression on his face... only the cold, blank stare. The crowd inside of MAYHEM Arena jeers wildly at the sight of the Commissioner.] Anthony Edwards: The IWF/WOW Commissioner, "Suicidal" Nate McMannis. [Edwards turns to McMannis.] Anthony Edwards: Mr. McMannis, on Monday night, EGOS & ICONS Day 1, Maverick was your mystery partner. He turned his back on his fans and his friend Billy Rock, just like you did, and joined your team. My question for you tonight is... is Maverick an official member of the Trifecta? [McMannis stares at Edwards, still not changing his facial expression. Edwards extends the microphone for an answer, but McMannis cocks his head to the right and looks awkwardly at Edwards.] Nate McMannis: What did you ask me? Anthony Edwards: I asked if Maverick was -- [McMannis jets his hand onto the microphone and presses Edwards's hand down. He reaches down, grabbing Edwards's wrist, and slowly moves the microphone up, back to his mouth.] Nate McMannis: Tony... it doesn't matter whether Maverick is a member of the Trifecta or not. That will be answered soon enough. It doesn't matter who he turned on, and it doesn't matter what happened during that match. There are only two things that matter tonight. [He holds his index finger in the air.] Nate McMannis: One is the Independence Day Rumble. [He extends the middle finger.] Nate McMannis: And two is that I made Billy Rock tap in the center of the ring. [He releases the interviewer's hand.] Nate McMannis: It's my time, Edwards. Justin Arcola said he knew everything that was in my mind, but he lost on Monday. Billy Rock said that I could never stop him, but I made the bitch _tap_ on Monday night. The Trifecta is unstoppable, but, more importantly... Nate McMannis is unstoppable. When I broke into this business, they said I was too small to make it... but I turned out to be a firecracker, Tony. I'm capable of taking a hand, or a foot, or any part of you I can _get_... and there's 29 other men in the ring waiting to be the man. There's 29 other guys that want to be the best in the I/W, and 29 other men that think that they're going to walk away tonight with the IWF/WOW World Title strapped around their waist. [He shakes his head, maintaining his serious expression.] Nate McMannis: There are 29 men that are _wrong_. Tonight, we bring EGOS & ICONS to a close... and we do it the right way. We're gonna pass the torch. I assure you... if Billy Rock can muster up the energy to even make it to the ring... and if he can by the miracle of God make it through whatever number in the top four he has until I come down to the ring in the last four... I _will_ beat him again. And I'll do it to everyone else, too. I proved to the world that I'm the man now... and I'm gonna go make it official, Anthony. [He grabs Anthony by the biceps and pulls him in close. The interview is nose to nose with the crazy grappler.] Nate McMannis: _That_ is what you should be asking about, Edwards. Take it to the bank... 'cause it's time to get the fuck up. [McMannis shoves Edwards back and walks off camera. Fade back into the arena.] Jack Anderson: I like his chances. Jim Robson: You do, do you? Jack Anderson: Oh yeah! Jim Robson: What about the Angel of Death? You mentioned him earlier. Jack Anderson: Well, yeah... him too! Jim Robson: Make up your mind Jack, you can only make one pick! Jack Anderson: Well who do you predict? Jim Robson: Me? I don't know... I think I'd have to go with last years winner, Justin Arcola. Jack Anderson: Arcola? But he's coming out at the start! Jim Robson: But still... Jack Anderson: You idiot. Here's another favourite of mine, Eric Travers... he's backstage with Anthony Edwards! [The camera switches to the backstage area, where Anthony Edwards stands in front of the dressing room door of Eric Travers. Travers’ name is on the door inside a large star, with Oakley, Nike, and Mountain Dew stickers scattered around the outside. Travers is standing beside Edwards, looking slightly down at him, with a bit of a scowl on his face. Travers looks ready to wrestle and doesn’t appear to have any visible effects from the rib injury he appeared to sustain in War Games. Edwards stands in an I/W golf shirt with a mic in hand.] Anthony Edwards: Eric Travers, we’re three days removed from War Games, and with The Trifecta and Maverick’s victory in War Games, you and your partners will get the final four entries into the Rumble. You must be happy with that after the beating you ALL took in that brutal match in Ottawa. [Edwards extends the mic to Travers, who simply continues to look down at Edwards with a scowl. After a few seconds, Travers finally speaks.] Eric Travers: You’re damn right I’m happy!! But it’s not just the fact that we’re getting the last four entries into the Rumble, oh no… I’m happy because the four fools who dared to challenge The Trifecta… The four complete idiots who thought they had what it took to bring down the greatest collection of wrestlers in this company’s illustrious history… Those four men have to begin tonight’s Rumble… Billy Rock, the bad imitation of a true three time World Champion, will have to accomplish nearly seventy five percent of what The AoD did in 1997 to retain his title. What a wonderful sight! If Billy Rock lasts HALF as long in this rumble as The AoD did in 1997, he’ll have accomplished a feat not many men can claim to have accomplished. Eric Travers: I’m happy because the self proclaimed franchise of the IWF/WOW RRJ will have to haul his fat ass through 29 men… Through an hour of ring time to win the title!! The same goes for Kiljoy and Arcola… The only shame is that it’s unlikely that any of those 4 goofs will still be around by the time I get into the ring tonight, because I’d like nothing more than to get my hands on one or all of those guys again, and give a little more payback for the cheap shots they took in War Games!! Anthony Edwards: You’re not only in a good position to win tonight Eric, but along with that comes the great opportunity you have of becoming the first and only FOUR time IWF/WOW World Champion! What are your thoughts concerning that? Eric Travers: My thoughts? I think it’s exactly the way things should be!! Is anyone in this organization a better poster child for the I/W than me? Is there anyone in a better position to make this company profitable than me? I have endorsement deals coming out of my ass, and more and more knocking on my door each and every day! On top of that, I’m the most talented wrestler in this company!! No one puts people in the seats like Eric Travers, and let me tell you… Chris Jurkschat’s company will be much more valuable once this night is over, because when the final bell sounds tonight… Eric Travers will be your new IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion!! [Travers turns and walks away from Edwards as the camera switches back to the arena.] Jim Robson: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT'S TIME...FOR THE ID4 RUMBLE!!! Jack Anderson: And this year's rumble is something special! The IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Title will be on the line, and let's face it, Jim. With Billy Rock drawing one of the first four numbers, we're pretty much _guaranteed_ a new champion will be crowned here tonight! Jim Robson: It certainly is a daunting task! As seemingly unstoppable as Rock has been during the past year, War Games showed us that he was, indeed, human. How he's going to outlast 29 other men is simply beyond comprehension! Jack Anderson: And what do you think the reaction of Rock's teammates will be when they get into the ring with him? You hate to be the man that loses a match for your team, but then when you have to face them in a match with your title on the line? I think we can safely assume all bets are off tonight! Jim Robson: And what about the Trifecta and the new Intercontinental Champion, Maverick? Jack Anderson: Maverick was unquestionably the impact player at War Games! He's the new IC Champ, and he's coming in at the end! Mark my words; he may walk away with it all tonight! Jim Robson: Maverick is certainly an odds-on favorite, as are all the members of the Trifecta! But with everything riding on the line tonight...with the richest prize in the industry up for grabs...you have to believe that all 30 men in this Rumble are hungrier than they've ever been in their careers! This Rumble will be one for the ages! _____ ___ ___ | ____( _ ) |_ _|-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 -=-=-=-=-=-=-= | _| / _ \/\| | INDEPENDENCE DAY RUMBLE! | |__| (_> <| | 30 IWF/WOW superstars |_____\___/\/___|=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2002 =-=-=-=-=-=-=- -------------------> WRITER: Matt Weeks & Chris J. <-------------------- [The camera comes down to the ring.] FRANCINE: Ladies and gentlemen... Every two minutes thereafter, another competitor will enter the ring, according to the number they drew. There are no pinfalls. No submissions. No count-outs. No disqualifications. The tendrals of hair slithering down his face, to his upper lip, sway back and forth as they're caught in his deep, heavy breaths. Then, in unision with the first spool of lyrics, the "Serial Thriller" Billy Rock snaps his head backward, whipping the damp chords of light caramel hair from his face. His hair is thick and wavy, riddled with slight curls, ranging in length from his earlobes to the lower back of his neck. He ominously twists his neck, rotating his face toward the aisle, lashing out with that vulgar trademark crook in his upper lip. A trim patch of light brown fur spans his flesh from ear to ear. He calmly swings one foot out in front and visually inhales his surroundings, then walks the aisle. Billy's chest swells chillingly as the camera spirals around him. His hands are taped heavily from his knuckles to about three inches above his wrists. The light ricochets off the gleaming material of his steel gray, thigh length tights. The back of these tights carry the emblem of a confederate flag with it's edges tattered and torn, and Billy's own twist. An orange canvas behind a pair of blue crossbones. The white stars rallying across each bone lead to a white skull in the center wearing a sinfully immoral grin. You'll find an exact replica on the front sans the orange backdrop. There's _unmitigated_ respect between Rock and Arcola, but in the name of the I/W World Title, each will do whatever it takes -- pardon the pun -- to be the very best in the business! [The crowd cheers rise in intensity as Rock and Arcola exchange a few words, then pound fists and begin to circle one another.] Jim Robson: A nice show of respect there...something we don't see often enough these days. Jack Anderson: We all know what it took for these two guys to _earn_ that respect from each other. Jim Robson: HERE'S THE TIE-UP! Rock with a side headlock! [Rock and Arcola both get to their feet and pause for a moment. The crowd gives the exchange a nice ovation.] Jim Robson: These men know each other so well...they know the counters to each other's counters! Jack Anderson: And it's almost a shame that they had to come in at numbers one and two. They're taking a lot out of each other in the early going, and I can't see either one of them lasting an hour! Jim Robson: HERE THEY GO AGAIN! Arcola goes low with a fireman's carry...shoots the half-nelson into an armbar...there is no one in this federation who has the technical expertise and experience of Justin Arcola! Jack Anderson: I can't stress it enough, Jim! You're not trying to take a guy down here; you're trying to get him over the top rope. Unless Arcola and Rock are just killing time until the next entrant comes in, this is just a waste of energy! Jim Robson: On the contrary...I think they're just warming themselves up! Rock and Arcola may very well want this Rumble to themselves...at least until the Trifecta enters. It was these two men who declared the war on that stable to begin with. They were unsuccessful at War Games, but now they are fighting to keep the World Title within their grasp! If the Trifecta manages to gain control over that belt, you can bet neither Rock nor Arcola will get a shot at it for as long as possible! Jack Anderson: Well, they're unquestionably warmed up at the moment. Now they should just step through the ropes now, sit at ringside, and let everyone else in there battle it out. [Kiljoy makes his way to the ring in a slow jog, slapping the hands of some fans in the aisle. He slides into the ring and gazes at both Rock and Arcola.] Jim Robson: Kiljoy is the North American Champion, but it's a well-known fact that he lusts after the all the championship gold, including the World Title! Jack Anderson: What kind of a man actually _lusts_ over a championship? I mean, yeah, competive spirit is all good, but to actually get an orgasmic thrill over holding a belt...that's just weird. Jim Robson: KILJOY'S GOING FOR ROCK! KILJOY IS TRYING TO TAKE OUT THE WORLD CHAMPION EARLY ON! Jack Anderson: Not a bad move on Kiljoy's part! Rock and Kiljoy stare down to RRJ, who remains outside the ring.] RRJ: War Games has come and gone. The four of us placed our bodies on the line Monday night - we did absolutely everything we could to win that match. Up until that point we were glaring at each other all along until lo and behold, Mister Mystery Man turned out to be my old "buddy"...Maverick. [BOO THAT NAME!!] RRJ: It was McMannis and Maverick that duped us all...and here we are in the first 4 draws of the Rumble because of that. They got us and they got us good. Now Arcola, Kiljoy, Mr. Bills...don't you wanna just get them in the ring _one more time_? Now that this cloud of mystery has been crushed by 350 pounds of Maverick's ass, can we still be a team? Jim Robson: RRJ standing on the ring apron now... RRJ: As of right now, Maverick and the Trifecta are a long ways away from us. Draws 27 through 30. Let's face the facts: We're not getting there by ourselves - not with these odds. It's something we need to look ahead to together, because we can't do anything about War Games. Kiljoy, who cares that Billy tapped? Lay off him. It's not his fault, it's _our_ fault. We rise as a team, and we fall as a team. And tonight... [He slides the chairs into the ring.] RRJ: We're a team once again. [He steps through the ring.] Jim Robson: RRJ is in the ring and the 2 minutes have started, but nobody has moved in on him. I think he's making some good sense. To get their hands on the Trifecta, they need to work together. RRJ: Meanwhile let's take a load off. We've got about a minute and a half of peacetime. (tosses Kiljoy the popcorn, and Rock & Arcola the other candy). Just pretend you're at a bar for a minute and all these cute girls are hanging onto your shoulders. Sit down a couple seconds and relax at the imaginary USO show, because before you know it, number 5 will be on his way down here...and we're back to war. [He sticks his left hand out, face down.] RRJ: Are you guys in? [Arcola looks at Rock. Rock turns toward Arcola. Arcola places his hand in the center.] RRJ: How 'bout you Billy? [Pause. Then Rock's hand goes in the center.] RRJ: C'mon Kiljoy. Get over War Games. You got a whole bag of popcorn to yourself... [The three look at Kiljoy, who eats a handful of popcorn...and places his hand in the center.] Jim Robson: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! RRJ: Now let's party! Save me some Reeses... [POP!] Jim Robson: Razor Ron Jeremy has resurrected this fallen team! They're all living it up in the ring, waiting for the fifth man! Jack Anderson: Hey Ron, you're about 3 days too late. You already LOST! I'm just gonna sit back and wait for them to get tossed. Jim Robson: This party will get broken up very soon...only 20 seconds until number 5! Jim Robson: Well...Razor Ron Jeremy is urging cooperation among his teammates. And all of them want a piece of the Trifecta, but can any of these guys really trust one another in this kind of an environment? Jack Anderson: RRJ -- the well-traveled veteran -- may be the most naive one of all the guys in the ring. Does he really think he can keep the peace with personalities as volatile as Kiljoy, Rock, and Arcola? They _all_ want this Rumble to themselves! Jim Robson: RRJ trying to settle down the tempers in the ring. They all want the Trifecta, but they're going to have to last the entire Rumble to get a piece of them. And RRJ is right; the best way for them to do that is to cooperate and eliminate everyone as they come in. Jack Anderson: But this is like some sick, twisted version of "Survivor". Cooperation won't be easy when everyone's watching their backs for everyone else. Now they really _do_ have to worry about who's going to stab who in the back! Are they ... are they having a _moment_? Jim Robson: A little class, huh, Jack? That's the most cherished prize in our business. It's been a staple in Billy Rock's life for the better part of eight months, and now he has to let it go. He must be as stunned as we are. [RRJ stops dead in his tracks. Billy climbs back into the ring, holding a microphone, and points at the new champion.] BILLY ROCK: Yuh wait just a Godd*mn minute! [An uneasy hush overcomes the arena. Billy breathes heavily and wipes the blood from his face, only to succeed in smearing it. RRJ watches him with a sharp eye.] BILLY ROCK: I don't mean to spit on your parade, but yuh see ... I knew this day would come. Awkward thing is, no matter how long I expected it to happen, I never braced for it. I never prepared to look across this ring and see you hamming it up with my gold. And everything that happened here tonight says yuh have the right to. There's no debate. You _are_ the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion! And you're gonna make a fine example of one. [POP!!] BILLY ROCK: You're gonna raise it to a level none of these people have seen yet. [RRJ nods in appreciation of the sentiment and respondes with a "Thank you".] BILLY ROCK: Forgive me again for the interruption, 'cause I know this is your moment. Yuh deserve every second of carelessness and celebration you can afford, because tomorrow yuh wake up to what that belt truly wants with yuh these days. I bet somewhere in that fusion of leather and gold is a laundry list of challenges already being processed. But when yuh rub your eyes up and down that very list, Ron, I want yuh to take your pen to the very top ... find my name ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... and _cross it off_. Jim Robson: Say _what_!? [You could hear a pin drop. RRJ looks just as confused as the thousands of people in attendance.] BILLY ROCK: I went through twenty-eight men to get to yuh, Ron. _Twenty-eight men_ formed a wall in front of me! ... ... ... Twenty-eight men, by God, are lying face down in a stream of my blood and sweat that dries up at your feet. [Billy smirks and shakes his head.] BILLY ROCK: I can't top that. [He points to RRJ.] BILLY ROCK: And I can't top _that_. Jim Robson: What is he implying? Jack Anderson: Jim ... is he-- Jim Robson: Wait, Jack. Let him finish before we make any drastic assumptions. Jack Anderson: Sure. BILLY ROCK: It's alright, though. I'm okay with that. My entire career has hinged on being the best at what I do. Taking one more step than the guy behind me. Standing closer to the edge than anyone else. Going that extra mile. But what I've come to realize, even before tonight, is that I've gone as far as I can, yet further than I ever expected. The screen splits to show a locker room full of wrestlers watching closely. Standing front and center is Matthew Reason watching a moniter with a sour look on his face. He shakes his head slowly.] MATTHEW REASON: No ... you ... you can't do this. [He picks up the moniter and ... [KSSSHHH!!!] ... sends it into the wall. Wrestlers scatter as he now paces, squeezing both ears.] MATTHEW REASON: NO!! NO!! NO!! [CRACK!!] [Reason puts his foot through a small wooden coffee table.] MATTHEW REASON: YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! YOU SAID YOU'D BE HERE! YOU CAN'T F*CKIN' LEAVE ME! [He falls to his knees, gasping for air, and holding his fists over his eyes. The screen slides away, giving us a full view of the arena again.] Jack Anderson: This is unbelievable. And Reason certainly doesn't look happy about it! Jim Robson: I can't believe what I'm hearing, Jack! Billy Rock ... it's only been a little over a year. He's only twenty-four years old. Jack Anderson: And he'll go down as one of, if not _the_ best in I/W history. Dammit, I know I've said some pretty nasty things about him, but is he _sure_ about this?
