We see several signs, including "WHO? ME?", "ST. CLAIR FOR PRIME MINISTER", "US SUCKS", and even a sign asking for a million dollars. Eventually, the camera pans to ringside where Jim Robson and Jack Anderson are sitting at their usual desk.] Jim Robson: Folks, welcome to what is sure to be an amazing event... after the shocking events of day one, I wouldn't expect anything less here tonight. There is a new IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion and a new Intercontinental Champion, but of course not without a little bit of controversy. Jack Anderson: Well, the word was forced to watch a horrible injustice on day one! Figures it'd happen in Canada. I still cannot believe that Shane St. Clair was able to walk out with the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Championship belt!! Travers is _da_ mann! Jim Robson: Correct, it was the man. St. Clair is the new man. But speaking of new champions, how about "Serial Thriller" Billy Rock winning the Intercontinental Championship from Justin Arcola? Jack Anderson: Oh, don't even get me started on that one!! Even with Johnny Spades making a special one night only return, Arcola was not able to retain the title... Jim Robson: It certainly was an amazing night on day one, but tonight could get even more interested. Tonight we have the twenty man Independence Day Rumble, where legends are made. Tonight, someone will earn a shot at the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight title by winning this rumble. Jack Anderson: It could be anyone... Jim Robson: Up first, we've got some pre-recorded comments from "Coach Potato" Carl Lumski and company. These were made after Lumski watched MAYHEM last week... Lets take a look. [Fade in. The scene opens with a close-up of a big screen television set. On the TV, we see a clip from the last MAYHEM playing. More specifically, we see John "Hellraiser" Grenchen making his return to the IWF/WOW. The camera zooms out away from the television slowly, revealing that we're actually in the living room of "Couch Potato" Carl Lumski's apartment. The TV is, in fact, new but nothing else in the room appears to be. We see Carl and his beloved girlfriend/brand new tag team partner Fleur Gardyn sitting on the sofa, watching TV. Well, Fleur is watching the television. Carl's too busy laughing hysterically to pay any attention to the TV. He's laughing so hard that he's almost on the verge of tears. Finally, he calms down a bit and looks at Fleur. He points to the television, still chuckling slightly...] CL: Can you believe that guy, hon? What a goof! He acts like a freakin' reject from a Z grade horror film. I half-expected special commentary during his speech... not from Jim Robson and Jack Anderson, mind you. I expected play-by-play from the Satellite of Love crew from "Mystery Science Theater 3000". I'm sure Mike and the bots would've had a field day with that load of... of... ummm... what's that word that you use? [Fleur cocks her head to the side and smirks at Carl...] FG: Bollocks? CL: Yes! [The crowd begins to boo as the serene feel of the opening riffs of Metallica's "Little Boy You're Going to Hell" begin to slowly pick up momentum.] # Little boy at peace # # What is this place beyond the stars? # # Open up your eyes # # What are these things you're moving toward? # # Head so full of wonder # # Worries in the past # # Could it be that you are free at last? # [Bright white lights flash in the entranceway.] HELLRAISER: NO!!! [The trashing drums and speed metal guitars break the serenity. "The Hellraiser" John Grenchen steps out from behind the curtain, walks out a few feet, and raises his arms in the air. On cue, Pain and Suffering step out and march like soldiers to his side. They walk to the ring at a slow and methodical pace, with Grenchen leading the way and Pain and Suffering at his flank.] Jim Robson: John Grenchen has assumed the mantle of Mistress Sonia, who was eliminated - possibly for good - at the hands of her former charges Pain and Suffering. Jack Anderson: Well, all I can say is that we are all suffering at not being able to have Mistress Sonia out here. [Suddenly, the trippy instrumental opening theme of the "The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" television series begins to blare throughout the packed MAYHEM Arena. The crowd pops!] FRANCINE: And their opponents... at a total combined weight of four hundred and thirty-three pounds... "COUCH POTATO" CARL LUMSKI... FLEUR GARDYN... AND "THE TOMORROW GIRL" NATALIE ROSE ROGAN! [The crowd's cheers intensify as Carl, Fleur, and Natalie Rose emerge from behind the entrance curtain. Dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans, a tattered, old pair of Adidas sneakers, and a #42 HGTTG University football jersey, Carl makes his way down the aisle, high-fiving a few fans along the way. Clad in a white baby tee that has the words "Don't Panic!" across the front in red letters, a tight pair of Daisy dukes, and a pair of black boots, Fleur tags along behind her man, smiling and giggling like a giddy school girl. Decked out in a black cutoff T-shirt that has the words "Perfection Personified" across the chest in glittery lettering, a pair of long (and quite tight) pink spandex tights that has her initials "N.R.R." running down each leg, and a pair of white boots, Natalie Rose brings up the rear, strutting down the aisle slowly as if she was modeling on a catwalk. Finally, they make it to the ring...] Jack Anderson: Even though Fleur and Rogan are both accomplished wrestlers, I'd think you'd have to agree with me, Jim, that this team is the underdog tonight. Jim Robson: Well, time will tell on that one. This is the first time we've seen The Tommorrow Girl in an IWF/WOW match, but her reputation certainly precedes her. We've seen firsthand that Fleur is no pushover - in fact, she's proved quite frequently in the last few weeks that she's a force to be reckoned with. And of course, Carl Lumski, the former North American Champion, makes a living out of defying people's expectatons of him. DING! DING! DING! Jim Robson: There's the bell. It looks like it's going to be Suffering starting the match for Grenchen's team, and for Team Lumski... Jack Anderson: Natalie Rose Rogan? Jim Robson: Well, now we're going to get a chance to see firsthand exactly what Carl and Fleur's new manager can do inside the squared circle. Jack Anderson: Ha, check out Suffering. He's not showing any respect to The Tommorrow Girl. Jim Robson: Suffering...he almost looks amused by the prospect of wrestling Rogan. That's the first time I've seen Suffering smile. [Suffering goes down on all fours in the classic wrestling mount position. He dares Rogan to come over.] Jim Robson: Suffering is challenging the technician Rogan in freestyle wreslting. Jack Anderson: I love it! [Rogan shrugs and calmly walks across the ring. She prepares to put on a waistlock, but then surprises everyone, including Suffering, by jumping on Suffering's back and rolling over with a three-quater nelson pin. Suffering kicks out at one and immediately gets to his feet, infuriated. Rogan smirks and calls Suffering in.] Jim Robson: Rogan almost got the quick pin there with a beautiful rollup...and HERE WE GO! Rogan dodges a clothesline from Suffering and fires back with forearm shots! Side headlock by Rogan...she's wrenching it in...Suffering counters into a hammerlock...Rogan can't get the leverage to reverse it...DROP TOE-HOLD by Rogan! That surprised the big man...Suffering up again...ARM-DRAG! Rogan's on all cylinders in this exchange...JAPANESE ARM DRAG TAKEDOWN! Suffering's a bit dazed...Suffering with a kick...no...blocked by Rogan...DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP!!! [The crowd pops big for this offensive series.] Jack Anderson: Oh shut up, people! Rogan might have surprised Suffering, but there's no way this can last. Jim Robson: The Tommorrow Girl just put on a techinical clinic against the high-flyer Suffering. And Rogan tags in Fleur! Fleur to the top rope...and Suffering is still a bit stunned...RUNNING BULLDOG BY ROGAN! Here comes Fleur off the top...ELBOW DROP TO THE HEAD!!! Fleur goes for the cover...Suffering kicks out at two! Jack Anderson: Come on, Suffering! She's a hundred and ten pounds; assert yourself! Jim Robson: What a move! Suffering is really in trouble now, as Lumski rolls him under the bottom rope. Lumksi steps through the ropes and makes the tag to Fleur. [As Lumski, Fleur, and Rogan celebrate in the corner, Pain and Grechen enter the ring and lay waste to the trio. Pain hits Lumski and Fleur with a double clothesline and Grechen knocks Rogan off the apron with a running elbow to the face. Pain picks up Fleur and tosses her to Grechen.] Jim Robson: The Hellraiser has Fleur Gardyn hooked...and lifts her into a stalling suplex...what's he going to do? OH NO! BRAINBUSTER DDT!!! Come on now! She's 110 pounds; that could have broken her spine! Jack Anderson: What do you expect, Jim? She's a legal entrant in this match, and you've said over and over that she can hang with the boys' club. Now you want her to be offered special consideration because she's a member of the fairer sex? Jim Robson: Well, no... Jack Anderson: HA! My point exactly. Get her, Pain! [Pain takes Fleur to the corner and pummels her with a dozen or so punches to the side of the face, driving her down into a sitting position. He places his foot along her throat and cranks back on the ropes, choking her. The crowd responds with MASSIVE heat.] Jim Robson: Enough is enough! This is hideous! Jack Anderson: Hey, try and be impartial for one, Jim. This is how wrestling is, and for a rookie like Fleur Gardyn, it was only a matter of time before the School of Hard Knocks called her name. [Pain dumps Fleur out of the ring and Lumski takes objection to it. He tries to get in the ring and the referee holds him back. Pain gets in Lumski's face and a stray shot knocks the referee down. Lumksi starts to enter the ring, but is met with a viscous knee to the face from Pain follwed up by a piledriver.] Jim Robson: Well, Fleur is down on the outside and Lumski is down in the ring...WAIT! RIGHT BEHIND US! IT'S ERIC TRAVERS!!! [Travers jumps over the security railing and goes right For Fleur. He grabs her and positions her in front of the Japanese announce table.] Jim Robson: No...NO! DON'T DO IT!!! *** SMASH *** Jim Robson: GERMAN SUPLEX THROUGH THE TABLE!!! ERIC TRAVERS DROVE FLEUR THROUGH THE TABLE WITH THE DAMNDEST GERMAN SUPLEX I'VE EVER SEEN!!! [Rogan immediately charges down the apron and nails Travers square in the chest with a missile dropkick. Travers goes down, and Rogan pounces. Travers kicks her off and gets up. Rogan takes a swing, which Travers ducks and follows up with a Chicken Wing/Rear Chinlock combo. Travers has Rogan locked up tight, and is near Robson and Anderson. Travers' mouth is on the right side of Rogan's head and Travers' comments are audible over the camera microphone.] Eric Travers: Rogan, I respect your abilities as a manager, and as a wrestler as well, and I expect that you'll pass my message on to your team. [Travers tightens his grip as Rogan grimaces, her eyes moving back and forth looking for an escape.] Eric Travers: You know as well as I do that as long as those two clowns continue to stick their noses in my business, especially when it physically involves Tricia, they're in a no win situation. And as a well respected manager, and wrestler, I would think that you would have the sense to advise them to focus on their tag team goals, and avoid the best wrestler the IWF/WOW has ever seen, at all costs. [Travers cracks an arrogant smirk as Rogan struggles to free herself, and Travers tightens his grip some more.] Eric Travers: Fiesty. You know what Rogan, I like that, so here's what I'm gonna do. Since I've returned the favour on that chair shot Tricia received on Monday, I'm gonna call us all even. So if you can keep the reins on Lumski and Fleur, and keep them out of my hair, we'll have no more problems. Got it? Good. And by the way... Good luck with the rest of your match. [Travers then shoves Rogan away from him, and to the floor. Rogan picks herself up and shakes her left arm, watching Travers walks around the ring with a look of anger on her face. Rogan then goes to check on Fleur, who is still down.] Jim Robson: Eric Travers exerting revenge for what happened to Tricia Lane last week on MAYHEM. Lumski is still down and the referee is just now starting to get up. Rogan climbs to the apron. WAIT! The Hellraiser just clotheslined Rogan backwards over the top rope into the ring. He's got Rogan set up...CROSS POWERBOMB!!! Grechen makes the cover...that's gotta be all. 1 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 3!!! DING! DING! DING! Jack Anderson: HA HA! See you later, Tommorrow Girl! Jim Robson: Take nothing away from Rogan, she proved a great deal to a lot of people tonight. But that Cross Powerbomb can put away anybody. Jack Anderson: And things don't look too good for that embarassment Lumski now, do they? His manager has been eliminated and Fleur...well, she's been eliminated by default. Jim Robson: This will be a great test for the Couch Potato, who's still shaking off the effects of being dropped on his head a minute ago by Pain. It's essentially two-on-one. Jack Anderson: And you've gotta be impressed with the performance of The Hellraiser. Jim Robson: Well, he's been picking his spots, hitting big moves out of nowhere throughout this whole match. But right now, it's Pain taking over on Carl Lumski. Pain whips Lumski into the ropes...POWERSLAM!!! Pain goes for the cover 1 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . NO! Lumski kicks out! Jim Robson: And Pain is eliminated! Jack Anderson: No way! Where did that move come from?!? [John Grechen immediately enters the ring and pounces on Lumski.] Jim Robson: There's no rest period here. Lumski is still shaken from his own offense and the beating he's been taking. Grechen boots Lumski in the midsection...gives the signal for the scissors kick! Jack Anderson: That'll take Lumski's head off! DO IT!!! [Grechen measures Lumski, preparing for the kick. He backs up into the ropes and prepares to charge, when suddenly...] Jim Robson: OH MY GOD! IT'S FLEUR! SHE HAS THE TESTICULAR CLAW ON THE HELLRAISER!!! Jack Anderson: Referee! Do something! That's illegal! Jim Robson: Can you imagine the amount of pain John Grechen must be in? Jim Robson: What an incredible display of fortitude by Fleur Gardyn, to recover from that heinous assault by the Epic one! [Lumski and Fleur hug in the middle of the ring, and Fleur turns to the ropes to take in the thunderous applause from the fans. Lumski looks at her, at the fans, and then at her again...and drops down to one knee! He reaches into his pocket while Fleur's back is still turned, but is interrputed when Nataile Rose Rogan suddenly runs down to the ring and yanks him up to hug him in celebration. Fleur turns around and joins the group hug while Lumski simply shakes his head and shrugs.] Jack Anderson: HA, shot out of the saddle again, huh Carl? What a loser! Jim Robson: Whew. What an opening match, and it's obvious Eric Travers is really upset from his loss on day one against Shane St. Clair. Jack Anderson: Of course he is! He lost the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Championship... wouldn't _you_ be upset!? Jim Robson: Well, yes I would. Jim Robson: Either way, what a night New Era was, and if our first match is any indication, tonight could well be even better... [Robson is interrupted by "Epic" by Faith No More blasting through the sound system of the MCI Center.] Jim Robson: What is Travers doing out here once again? Jack Anderson: Obviously he has something on his mind, and he's coming out here to say it. Jim Robson: Yeah, but President Jurkschat has a rule prohibiting In ring interview segments on pay per view. Jack Anderson: Too bad, Travers is coming out. [The crowd begin to boo, and taunt Travers as he walks out from behind the curtain. Travers looks angry, and oblivious to the jeers of the capacity crowd as he makes his way down the aisle. Travers is wearing black Nike warmup pants, and an Eric Travers "Black and Gold" t-shirt. As he walks down the aisle, we can see that he has a manilla envelope in his right hand. Travers climbs into the ring and goes over to get a microphone from Francine. She hesitates, with the camera picking up part of a comment that had something to do with Jurkschat and a rule. Travers yells for her to "just give me the damn microphone", which Francine reluctantly does. Travers walks beack to center ring and waits as the commotion dies down.] ERIC TRAVERS: 3 nights ago at IWF/WOW Egos and Icons: New Era, a gross injustice occured. Shane St Clair became the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion. [The crowd pops, causing Travers to lower the microphone and look around. Travers waits again for the noise to die down and then begins to speak again.] ERIC TRAVERS: I'm glad you're all so happy. [The crowd pop again, and a "Travers sucks" chant picks up.] ERIC TRAVERS: You won't be so damn happy for long, because you see... Here in my right hand is an envelope, and inside this envelope is something that will bring the IWF/WOW World Heavyeight Title back to where it belongs, AROUND MY WAIST!! [The crowd boo the thought] ERIC TRAVERS: Now, I know co-President Jurkschat, Vice-President Thompson, Vice President Bell and Commissioner McMannis are all backstage... And I know they all want to come out here right now, because I'm breaking one of Jurkschat's pay per view rules. So gentlemen, c'mon down because I have something to show you. [There is a buzz in the crowd as they watch and wait. Soon there is a pop as Jurkschat, Thompson, Bell, and McMannis all come walking out from the backstage area. McMannis looks ready to wrestle, while the three executives are all in suits. The four men make their way down the aisle, and climb into the ring. Jurkschat gets a microphone from Francine.] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: What's this all about Travers? You know our rule for pay per views, NO IN RING INTERVIEW TIME!! [Travers smirks and walks over and stands right in Jurkschat's face] ERIC TRAVERS: Well Chris, you know me, always one to find a way to be in the spotlight... But that's not what this is about. CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: What's it about then? ERIC TRAVERS: Well, three nights ago, I was robbed. Three nights ago, Shane St Clair and his drug enhanced body STOLE the IWF/WOW World Championship from me, and I want it back!! CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: You're entitled to get a rematch, and you will. That's no reason for you to be out here... ERIC TRAVERS: I'm not talking about a rematch... I want the decision REVERSED!!! [The crowd reacts negatively as the four men look at Travers quizically. McMannis asks Jurkschat for the microphone, which Chris hands over to him.] NATE MCMANNIS: And why the hell would we want to do that. You LOST, get over it!! [Travers smirks at McMannis and gets in HIS face] ERIC TRAVERS: If I didn't have bigger fish to fry right now, I'd take your ass out!! But, instead, I'll answer your question. You want to know why the hell you would want to reverse the decision?... [Travers holds up the manilla envelope in his right hand] ERIC TRAVERS: In this envelope is something that you all claim not to have. Something that will finally force you clowns into making a decision. For weeks it has been clear to everyone and their grandmothers that Shane St Clair is on some kind of steroid, and in my hands... I HAVE PROOF!!!!!! [There is a collective gasp followed by a loud murmer from the crowd.] Jim Robson: He has what? Proof? Jack Anderson: That's what that vile was for the other night... Travers took a blood sample and had it tested!! An insurance policy!! Jim Robson: Oh my gawd. [The four executives begin to look visibly uncomfortable. Thompson takes the microphone from McMannis.] VP THOMPSON: Eric, you all go through testing, and St. Clair has never tested positive before... ERIC TRAVERS: Yeah, that happened on my test too, until I remembered something. I'm sure everyone in the building remembers the ladder match final for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleFest. Well, you may also remember Shane St Clair doing a segment when he was leaving the hospital. AND, you may also remember the now infamous footage of him talking to his doctor and receiving something called Androcromite. A drug that the doctor claimed to be experimental, and undetectable. [Travers pauses and looks at the four men, who are all looking on intently.] ERIC TRAVERS: Well, after the first test came up negative, like all the tests that you guys have done did, I decided to pay a certain doctor a visit. And you know, it's amazing what a man will tell you when his career, and also his well being are out on the line. To make a long story short, the good doctor provided me with a copy of the developmental file on Androcromite. And, after I gave that to the lab guys, they then knew exactly what to look for!! And they FOUND IT!!! [The crowd has gone almost completely silent, still trying to grasp what they are hearing.] ERIC TRAVERS: In this envelope, are the files on Androcromite. The files that lay out, what it is, and what it does. Also in this envelope is a copy of the test results, that clearly show the presence of this drug in Shane St Clair's system!! VP THOMPSON: Can I see that? [Travers hands Thompson the envelope, which he opens. Thompson pulls out some paper work, and starts looking through it. As he finishes a page, he hands it to President Jurkschat, who reads it before passing it to McMannis, who then passes it to Bell. There is an awkward silence in the arena as the four men read the documentation. Thompson finsishes first, and looks at Travers, then at Jurkschat. Thompson's face, as well as Jurkschat's looks serious. The two converse, and are joined by McMannis and Bell soon after. Travers stands, waiting patiently for them to finish speaking.] Jim Robson: I don't believe this. Jack Anderson: Why? You yourself have said before that St. Clair is on something. Why is this a surprise? Jim Robson: That's not the surprise. I've never seen a wrestling championship fought over in this manner before. [The four men continue to speak to each other, trying to figure out what they want to do. Finally Thompson turns back to Travers.] VP THOMPSON: Eric, what is it that you expect us to do? ERIC TRAVERS: WHAT DO I EXPECT YOU TO DO!?!?!? I expect you to reverse the god damn decision, and fire his ass from the IWF/WOW FOR GOOD!!! [The crowd finally make some noise, buit the reaction is mixed. Thompson looks at Jurkschat who asks for the microphone.] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: I can't do that Travers... One, because there is no set policy for dealing with these matters, and two because, despite your evidence, we need to look into this much further... ERIC TRAVERS: FURTHER!?!? How much more do you need? Is this the man you want representing the IWF/WOW? Is this the man you want the kids to look up to? You're going to do NOTHING? What kind of message is that sending to our fans? "Oh, it's okay to take drugs and stuff to get to the top. Do whatever you have to". That's a load of crap Jurkschat!! We both know that's not the right thing to do, and we both know you're doing nothing because YOU'RE SCARED TO!!! This is a pretty tense little situation I've out you in isn't it? I'm making you address something you'd just as soon rather not address. Well now is the time to address it Jurkschat! Now is the time to show the people who work for you, and the people who pay to see us in the ring, what kind of a man you are. Are you content to make your money, no matter what the moral situation is? Or are you ready to do the right thing and punish Shane St. Clair for breaking the rules!? [Jurkschat looks at Travers, and then turns back to his Vice presidents and Commissioner. As they all talk, Thompson and McMannis seem to get a little more animated than the other two, though we can't make out what it is they are saying.] Jack Anderson: They have to reverse the decision, I don't see any other way of handling this. Jim Robson: You might be right Jack. For once you might be right. [The four men continue to talk as the crowd murmer, waiting for the decision to be made. Finally Jurkschat turns around.] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: Travers, we can't do what you want us to do, right here, right now. [There is another LOUD mixed reaction from the crowd, and Travers looks exremely angered.] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: We need to verify these results, and exactly what they mean as far as this Androcromite is concerned... [Travers is pacing like a caged animal] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: However... [Travers stops pacing and turns towards Jurkschat.] CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: However, in light of what you have shown us, and what we [motions to the three men behind him] have discussed, we are going to give you "a bone" as some may say. Jim Robson: What on Earth could that possibly be? ERIC TRAVERS: And what might THAT be? CO-PRESIDENT JURKSCHAT: You will get your rematch... Right here tonight at EGOS & ICONS: Independance Day Rumble! [There is a LOUD pop from the crowd. Travers looks at Jurkschat, and a small smile starts to show on his face, but he quickly puts an end to it and speaks again.] ERIC TRAVERS: I'll take the rematch tonight Jurkschat, but don't think that if I do, you're all off the hook in regards to dealing with that information I just provided you with. Shane St. Clair will fall tonight, as the shortest reigning World Champion of all time, but he sure as hell better be out the door soon after!! [Travers then throws down the microphone and exits the ring as "Epic" by Faith No More blasts through the sound system. The four men in the ring, begin talking again, as they too begin to leave the ring. and walk to the back.] Jim Robson: Wow!! What a turn of events. Jack Anderson: Eric Travers gets his rematch tonight! Alright!! Jim Robson: This is going to be interesting. Jack Anderson: That's right, because tonight Travers will set two records. He'll be the first IWF/WOW superstar to win the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Championship _three_ times, and he'll make Shane St. Clair the shortest reigning champion ever! Jim Robson: Should be good. [A hush settles over the crowd as the arena lights dim slightly, then abruptly ends a few seconds later when the first few chords of "Seasons In The Abyss" by Slayer ring throughout the arena, sending the audience to their feet as the crowd responds heavily, although they are mixed between the cheers from the diehard Thranton marks and the boos from those who dislike his current associates and attitude. The jumbo-tron screen lights up, displaying a simple black background over which 'The Equalizer Jeremy Thranton' is displayed in dark crimson lettering. "THE EQUALIZER" JEREMY THRANTON!! [After a few seconds of blaring music, Thranton casually steps through the curtain, wearing an altogether unconcerned look on his face, although it still betrays a sense of menace as well as a slight smirk. He pauses for a minute and then rotates his head in a circular motion, cracking his neck and then begins moving forward at a medium pace, his eyes seemingly set at a spot over the horizon.] Jim Robson: Folks, this is gonna be a great match... three legends of the I/W are going to get into the ring and go toe-to-toe. Jack Anderson: Robson, I think it's pretty obvious... this guy is a loose cannon, and he can't be trusted by anyone. The guy has broken up the Franchise Players, started shit with the Prophet, and gotten in problems with the Desert Scorpion, all since the lay pay per view. [Thranton is a large, muscular/bulky, well-built man, although he does not have a bodybuilder's physique. His ancestry is part African-American and part Irish, which gives him a somewhat unique color of skin, but his features are that of a black man. All visible skin, but especially his face, is dotted with deep scars from past conflicts, including a prominent burn on his left cheek. In contrast to his previous long main of black hair, his head is now cleanly shaved, and he sports a goatee. He wears a plain black sleeveless T-shirt underneath a black leather jacket, of which the back is adorned with the symbol of barbed wire wrapped around a bleeding arm. This symbol is also present hanging around his neck, attached to a white necklace. He also wears black fingerless gloves, a pair of worn denim blue jeans and black Doc Martens.] Jack Anderson: You know, denim used to be pretty bad-ass when I was using snap bracelets. [Thranton continues to walk down to the ring at a casual pace, seemingly apathetic to the reactions of the crowd or anything else going on around him. He removes his leather jacket and necklace as he reaches the ring, handing them to a ring attendant, and then climbs into the ring, stepping over the top rope. He then acknowledges the crowd with a mere nod of the head, then leans back into the turnbuckle. He throws his hair out of his eyes again as he waits for either the arrival of his opponent or the beginning of the match as his music dies out.] Jim Robson: I am convinced that this is going be a sleeper match on this show... quite frankly, not many people are looking at this one as "match of the night," but that's only because it hasn't built up recently... this will be a _great_ match, Jack. Jack Anderson: Only if Thranton is maimed. [The lights in the arena dim.] FRANCINE: About to enter the ring, from Phoenix, Arizona, standing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 237 pounds, here is... THE DESERT SCORPION!!! #Don't fear your last step# #From the theatre of pain# #And the children will love your singing# #From the sea, the sea is calling# ["Theatre of Pain" by Blind Guardian begins to play on the loudspeakers, as The Desert Scorpion begins his walk to ringside at a steady pace. For the most part, there is a pop from the crowd, although the arena doesn't explode with cheers that shake the rafters. The Scorpion's shoulder-length, sandy-brown hair hair hangs loose, and he is wearing a pair of tan, loose-fitting leggings and a dark brown vest, and his expression is typically emotionless. As he enters the ring, he removes his vest, revealing his well-tanned body. He gives a curt nod of acknowledgement and a sardonicsmile to the crowd, and returns his steely gaze to the ring.] Jim Robson: You know, Jack, when the Scorpion made his return, he was almost immediately attacked by the Franchise Players... and since Thranton was one of them, I'm sure that there's no love lost between them. Jack Anderson: Scorp and the Prophet are going to tear Thranton to shreads, mark my words. [The Scorpion walks into the ring. He stands across the ring from Thraton, eyeing him up.] Jack: Things are going to get violent, quickly. [Suddenly, The Alleluia Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" plays over the arena PA. The crowd EXPLODES in a massive volley of boos and jeers as the arena lights go out and a series of multicoloured crosses appear on the entranceway ramp. The music reaches a crescendo when a white-hot spotlight hits the entranceway and the Prophet appears, with the Choir-Master at his side. His blonde hair is worn down, past his shoulders and he wears a brightly coloured robe with "Prophet" written across the back in rhinestones. The Prophet has his classic grin on his face as he makes his way to the ring, trying to glad-hand with the fans, but the fans will have none of it. As he reaches the ring, The Choir-Master holds the ropes open for the Prophet. The Prophet climbs on the second turnbuckle and raises his arms, holding them out and fully acknowledging the boos and catcalls from the hostile crowd. He makes his way to the opposite corner and repeats the pose, to more boos and flash photography. He climbs down and removes his robe, to reveal a pair of long tights, their colour matching the robe he just removed, with "Prophet" written across the back and the legs and boots both sport crosses in black. His physique is well toned, not overly muscular but there is almost no body fat. The Prophet is a high-flyer but has a good technical background.] FRANCINE: About to enter the ring, from The Bible Belt, standing 6 feet and 3 inches and weighing 240 pounds, here is... THE PROPHET!!! [Heel pop!] Jack Anderson: Here comes the only man that could ever reach me. Jim Robson: Huh? Jack Anderson: The song? The only man that could ever reach me... et cetera. Jim Robson: Huh? Jack Anderson: Forget it. [The Prophet smiles as the crowd continues jeering at him. The lights return to normal in the arena, and the music cuts down. The referee calls for the bell, and this match is underway.] DING! DING! DING! Jack Anderson: This match is underway, as the Scorpion and the Prophet both blindside Thranton! [Prophet and Scorpion both begin swinging rights and lefts at Thranton... they set him up for an Irish whip, and come at him with a double dropkick!] Jim Robson: The Scorpion and Prophet, for all their hatred of each other, are working well together here! Jack Anderson: Prophet lifts up Thranton... _high_ kneelift takes down the Equalizer! Jim Robson: Desert Scorpion off the ropes... he drops a legdrop across the throat! [Scorpion rolls on top of Thranton, but Prophet pulls him off. The two heels (at least for this match) get in a shoving fight, and finally the Scorpion rears back and decks Prophet right in the side of head! The Prophet hits the ground to a huge pop!] Jack Anderson: What is the matter with these people?! The Prophet is just trying to convert you to the proper ways of society, and they're cheering his pain! Jim Robson: Maybe it's because he's a complete hypocrite, Jack! [The Prophet is back up on his feet, and he gets a knee to the gut from the Desert Scorpion, followed by an Irish whip... the Scorpion hurls the Messiah over his shoulder with a Japanese armdrag, and the Prophet lands right on top of Thranton with a Senton bomb-like fall! The Scorpion is quick to jump on top of the pile as if he were gay and the pile of men was a pile of NAKED men, and the referee counts... 1... 2... but both men kick out and send Scorpion flying between the bottom and middle ropes and to the outside!] Jim Robson: The Desert Scorpion flies to the outside! Jack Anderson: Thranton and the Prophet are back up, but they might've put the Scorpion out of this match! Jim Robson: Prophet with a stiff right hand to Thranton! Thranton responds with a left of his own! The Equalizer with a boot to the stomach... DDT! [Pop!] Jack Anderson: Thranton is going for the pin! 1... 2... Prophet gets a shoulder up! [Big pop!] Jim Robson: This match almost got put away early! The Scorpion's back in the ring, and he runs at Thranton... tilt-a-whirl slam by Jeremy! DS goes down! Thranton goes for the cover! 1... 2... Prophet breaks the cover! [The Prophet, now the only man in full composure, goes to the outside and climbs the turnbuckles.] Jim Robson: The Prophet is about to take flight, Jack! Jack Anderson: What a two day pay per view this has been, and it's about to move on, because this match is about to end! [The Prophet flies through the air drops a _vicious_ elbowdrop right in the heart of the Desert Scorpion! He gets up to his feet, but is met by a lariat by Thranton! Thranton hoists Prophet up and hoists him for a suplex... and falls into a floatover slam! He hooks the leg... 1... 2... But DS breaks the pin with a double axehandle! Scorp makes an effort to get back to his feet, and manages to rake Thranton's eyes on his way up. He whips Thranton across the ring, and hops onto the middle rope, flying off and landing a big rope-spring back elbowsmash right in Thranton's nose! As Thranton gets to his feet, it is apparent that his nose is bleeding, possibly broken, from the impact!] Jack Anderson: Now _this_ is entertainment! Jim Robson: Jeremy Thranton may have a broken nose, and the Desert Scorpion is right back on him! Fists of fury to the nose of Thranton by the man from Phoenix! Scorpion with an Irish whip, leap frog by Thranton, but -- [Pop!] Jack Anderson: -- The Prophet was there and he drilled Thranton with a dropkick! Scorpion clotheslines the Prophet over the top-rope and to the floor! Scorpion covers Thranton! 1... 2... the Equalizer kicks out! [The Scorpion puts the Equalizer in a headlock, apparently trying to wear down the larger Thranton. The Prophet is on the cement, holding onto his right knee gingerly.] Jack Anderson: It looks like the Prophet hurt his knee, Jim... the folks back in the Bible Belt have to be worried! Jim Robson: In the ring, Scorp is wearing down Thranton with that rear chinlock, he's really trying to cut off the former World Champ's oxygen supply... all of these men are former I/W Champions, and this match is delivering on the accolades of these three! Jack Anderson: It seems like the Prophet might be done, though, Jim! Jim Robson: Don't forget, later tonight, the Independence Day Rumble, right here on pay per view! You don't want to miss that, or this match, fans! [Thranton is using the audience's momentum to get back up... he reaches his feet, and delivers an elbow to the gut! Another one, and the hold is broken! He runs across the ring towards the ropes -- [[[ WWWHHHAAAMMM!!! ]]] -- but the Prophet nails him right in the back with a chair! _HUGE_ heel pop!] Jack Anderson: The referee didn't see that! Ha! Great strategy by the Prophet! Jim Robson: He should be disqualified! [Thranton goes down, and the Scorpion capitalizes by putting him in his infamous Scorpion Deathlock!] Jack Anderson: Scorpion Deathlock! Deathlock! Thranton is going to have to tap! Jim Robson: The Prophet is in the ring! He's on the top-rope! [The Prophet _flies_ and nails the Scorpion right in the kisser with a missle dropkick! Scorpion breaks the hold but manages to stay up... the Prophet comes behind him and _nails_ him with a German suplex! He brings him back up and hits a second one! He brings him up a third time and... _drives_ him into the canvas with a third German suplex!] Jim Robson: The Holy Trinity! The Holy Trinity! The Prophet makes the cover! 1... 2... The Scorpion _barely_ gets his shoulder up! Jack Anderson: That was three! I saw the ref's hand go down! Jim Robson: He's holding two fingers in the air! What a match! [The Prophet brings the Scorpion up, frustrated, and places him on the top-rope, possibly attempting to hit him with the Saving Grace, his finishing maneuver superplex. Thranton is up on his feet, and he comes from behind the Prophet, brings him up in the air, and _drives_ him into the canvas with California Love! POP! He sits into the cover... 1... 2... But the Scorpion flies from the top-rope, flips _over_ Thranton and nails him with a blockbuster maneuver, meanwhile landing with a vertical splash right onto the Prophet's chest! Thranton rolls out of the cover, and the Scorpion reaches behind him and hooks both of Prophet's legs for the pin! 1... 2... The man formerly known as Big Dick sports a purple mohawk, and wears no shirt, which accentuates his muscular upper-torso. He has a tattoo of a fiery skull on his left shoulder. He wears black tights and black boots. He acknowledges the IWFWOW fans with a flash of the 3:B signal as he makes his way to ringside. Something must have happened between New Era and right now, because they're entering separately and not making much communication between each other. Hopefully these men have been able to put aside their differences for the task at hand, and be able to work as a team in order to secure those IWF/WOW Tag Team Titles. The IWF/WOW fans look towards the entrance for the duo that has taken the fed by storm.. needless to say they don't really like them with the response.] FRANCINE: And introducing at this time your IWF/WOW Tag Team Champions of the World! Here is the team of... A D A M V A N S T E E L E!!! and... K J S L O A N!!!! [The duo makes their way through the Entrance way. The boos come from the crowd as the duo come out wearing their tag team title belts. Van Steele has his title belt around his waist, while his partner Sloan has the title slung over his shoulder. However, this time they are being followed by a group of IWF/WOW security guards.. about eight in total, who follow the two down towards the ring. Sloan is decked out in long tights. His trunks are solid black except a gold stripe running down the inside and outside of each leg and the "K.J." airbrushed across his rear in gold. His boots are black with a gold stripe running down the center of the boot where the laces cross. He also sports black wrist tape and a black elbow supporter on his right elbow only. Adam is wearing long black tights, on both legs there are dark blue stylish looking "AVS"'s written down.. it almost looks like a web pattern in which they are written. His boots are black and the same blue color that is on his legs. The two take their time getting into the ring. Steele gets up on the outside of the turnbuckle and holds his fist high into the air as his partner climbs into the ring completely focused. Their music dies down as they talk over some last minute strategy. Most of the security guards stay towards the entrance ramp, but some flank the guardrailing around the ring.] Jim Robson: Look at this, Jack. Sloan and Van Steele are accompanied to the ring by security guards! Jack Anderson: Hey, that's what I call playing it smart. Should there be any unnecessary behavior on the part of The Ewiaks or The Boston Bad Boys, the guards will intervene to make sure the match proceeds fairly. Jim Robson: I hardly think that's what they're for. I've heard nothing of this nature sanctioned by either of the co-Presidents, or Vice-president Wade Thompson, or even Commissioner McMannis. [Referee Geoff Cartwright holds the Tag Team titles in the air, signifying that they are on the line.] DING DING DING!! Jim Robson: Adam Van Steele and Frank Ewiak will be starting off. They're circling the ring right now, and they tie up...Frank Ewiak gains the advantage and wraps Van Steele into a headlock...Van Steele picks up Ewiak! And he drops him right on his back! Van Steele pops right back up and grabs Ewiak by the leg...and he drops an elbow right on the inside of Frank Ewiak's leg! Jack Anderson: That took a lot out of Frank Ewiak...I don't think there's gonna be any little Ewiaks running around anymore. Jim Robson: Van Steele picks up Ewiak and grabs him by the head...SNAP SUPLEX!! The swiftness of the move makes you slightly dizzy afterwards. Van Steele goes to tag his partner Kevin Sloan...my goodness, this is quite a mismatch here. Sloan is half a foot taller than Frank Ewiak! Richard James rolls to the outside of the ring, he's surely taken a beating tonight. Jack Anderson: Kelly James is just sitting there with her arms crossed watching him get up and walk back to the B:3 corner on his own. She wants out, Jim. Jim Robson: It's really too soon to jump to conclusions, Jack. Jack Anderson: You're hearing aid must be broken, those are really boos and hisses. Jim Robson: Then how come I just heard what you said? Jack Anderson: I speak loud and I carry a big stick. Jim Robson: That's not the expre...whatever. Cooper picks up Jesse Ewiak, and Jesse Ewiak fights back with a right hand...so does Coop! Ewiak swings one more time and Cooper ducks...he grabs him from behind...BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX ON JESSE EWIAK!! And look, Cooper's not wasting any time...He's going for the Boston Back Breaker! He's got the legs of Jesse Ewiak locked in, and Ewiak is refusing to submit! Jack Anderson: He's obviously in a lot of pain though. I can tell by the way he's screaming right in my face. Jim Robson: FRANK EWIAK COMES TO THE RESCUE!! He dropkicks Cooper Concrete in the back of the head! He drops the legs of Jesse Ewiak and the former World Champion is stumbling. Geoff Cartwright attempts to send Frank Ewiak back to the apron, but now Adam Van Steele and Kevin Sloan and they double team Cooper Concrete!! Geoff Cartwright has lost all control of this match!! Adam Van Steele sends Cooper Concrete into Kevin Sloan...MY GOD, KEVIN SLOAN SCOOPS UP COOPER CONCRETE AND DROPS HIM WITH AN IRON CITY SPIKE!! What a move; Cooper Concrete is motionless! Jim Robson: He landed right by Jesse Ewiak who still hasn't moved after being released from the Boston Back Breaker. Jack Anderson: Does this mean that Kelly James still cares about the tag team? Jim Robson: We'll find out soon enough...One member of each team is knocked out in the middle of the ring, and now Kevin Sloan looks in the direction of Kelly James and he yells some colourful language at her...AND RICHARD JAMES APPROACHES SLOAN FROM BEHIND!!...THE HUMILIATOR ON KEVIN SLOAN!! THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ARE DOWN!! Jack Anderson: And here comes Frank Ewiak...he jumps on the back of Richard James and he punches him right in the head! He looks like a gnat on the back of an elephant. Jim Robson: Richard James is about to topple over, and Frank Ewiak is gonna fall with him if he's not careful. Van Steele and Sloan follow them to the back. Meanwhile, Cooper Concrete, Richard James, and Kelly James are engaged in a triangle stare outside the ring.] Jack Anderson: Aww c'mon! Somebody throw some punches!! Cooper clotheslined his partner, someone punch HIM! Jim Robson: I have a feeling each one of them blames another for losing tonight, but that's really not the case...Wait Jack, Cooper is just walking away! And the James siblings are following slowly behind him. I think he wants to clear his head of this tag match so he can concentrate on the Independence Day Rumble later this evening. [Referee Cartwright hands Jesse and Frank Ewiak a tag team title belt and they hoist them in the air for an enormous pop from the crowd.] Jack Anderson:...Now the stupid Ewiaks are the Tag Team champions?!?! What a night it's been. What a week it's been even. Jack Anderson: Oh, shut up!! Jim Robson: Right now lets go backstage to Anthony Edwards, who is standing by with one of the men who will be taking part in the Independence Day Rumble in just a few short moments. [The camera cuts to the backstage area. Anthony Edwards is standing in front of a blue backdrop, with "IWF/WOW" in red-lettering behind him. Underneath the fed name is a large "E & I" logo, in black lettering. Standing next to him is a man, with his naked back turned to the camera. Edwards is wearing a suit, and it is not apparent what the other man is wearing. His head is heavily bandaged, and his back seems to be a bit scarred.] Anthony Edwards: Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with the IWF/WOW's North American Champion, the IWF/WOW's own Aggressive Commissioner, "Suicidal" Nate McMannis. Nate, congratulations on your successful defense of the North American Title three nights ago at the first day of this pay per view. [Edwards looks at Nate, and holds the microphone up, but Nate does not flinch, nor turn to the camera. Edwards seems confused, then drags the mic back and speaks again.] Anthony Edwards: Mr. McMannis, as we can see, your head is heavily bandaged. While you were holding Billy Rock's towel, you were attacked by Matthew Reason, powerbombed on the cement, and then piledriven right onto the same concrete floor. How, may I ask, are you still _walking_ here at EGOS & ICONS? [He holds the microphone up again. This time, Nate slowly, very slowly, begins pivoting towards the camera. He turns, and exposes his face. Both of his eyes are bloodshot, and his forehead seems to be extremely swollen. The look in his eyes can only be described by one word: anger.] Nate McMannis: Matthew Reason... Matthew... fucking... Reason. Who the _fuck_ do you think you are? I mean, really... Matt... just _who_... the _fuck_... do you think you are? [He reaches up and holds his head, wincing.] Nate McMannis: I retained my title at the pay per view. I managed to make sure that my best friend, Billy Rock, won the Intercontinental Title. But I didn't walk out of the Corel Centre Sunday night, I was wheeled out of there. I was unconscious, and barely fucking breathing, when I was strapped to a stretcher and taken to a God damned hospital... they did CAT scans, they did MRI's, and they decided that I didn't have any brain damage... but I did have a really fucking severe concussion, second degree. They said I shouldn't wrestle for the next four months. [He turns his head to Anthony Edwards, who seems a bit taken aback by the severity of tone that Nate has been speaking with.] Nate McMannis: FOUR FUCKING MONTHS, EDWARDS! [Edwards leaps backwards, almost falling over. The audience laughs in the United Center.] Nate McMannis: Do you know how much time that is, Edwards? [Edwards nods his head.] Anthony Edwards: Yeah, I -- Nate McMannis: -- shut up! [Pop! He turns back to the camera.] Nate McMannis: Reason, you don't even know the world of pain you've gotten yourself into. I _could_ take the doctor's advice, sit at home, collect my worker's comp, and watch Billy Rock tear your head off and take a big, steamy shit down your esophagus. I _could_ stay away from the ring and make the Commissionerly decisions that I've been making the last few months, but not wrestle until I've got medical clearance. I _could_... [He grabs the microphone out of Edwards's hand.] Nate McMannis: ... WRAP YOU AROUND MY FUCKING FOOT! I think I'll take option number three, you stupid fucker. When you thought you were fucking around with Billy Rock, what you wound up doing was dropping me on my God damned head, Matt. Your stupid sense of logic might have thought that you were ruining Billy Rock's day, but all you did was piss off the Commissioner of this place... Christ, Reason, I sign your matches! Do you realize the power that I have over you, you stupid _BITCH_? [Pop! Nate turns to Edwards and shoves him away. Another big pop! The camera pans closer to Nate, now, since there's only one person to focus on.] Nate McMannis: So no, I won't be staying out of the ring for four months... instead, I'll put some gauze around my skull and hope it doesn't cave in while I'm kicking the shit out of nineteen other men. Tonight, I was signed to wrestle in the Independence Day Rumble, and by God, I _will_ compete. I don't think that George Washington gave up when his horse kicked him in the head during the Revolution... and I'll be damned if I'm about to let him down on the day that he worked so hard for. [Another big pop!] Nate McMannis: Today, the birthday of my fucking country, I swear to God that I will bleed, sweat, and hurt in the center of the ring, concussion or no concussion, because I'll be _damned_ if these fans are going home without seeing what they got on their programs. Today, of all days, I will _not_ be quitting! The founders of this country didn't quit until they won their freedom, and I will not quit tonight unless I achieve my goals! [He reaches up and holds his head again, wincing. He shakes it off and looks back into the camera.] Nate McMannis: Number one, I am going to put my foot so far up Matthew Reason's ass that people are gonna mistake him for the left leg of my pants. [Pop!] Nate McMannis: Number two, I will _win_... the Independence Day Rumble. I don't have my North American Title with me... and I don't have my gavel, the gavel, I may add, that I used to drill a hole in the Idol's head... because tonight isn't about me being the N.A. Champ, and it definitely isn't about me being the I/W Commissioner. [He coughs, turns away, and coughs a bit more. The silence from the crowd is telling of their concern for one of the I/W's most galiant fighters.] Nate McMannis: It's about me proving that I deserve the moniker "Suicidal." They say that I shouldn't be wrestling tonight. They say that I should sit on my ass for _four_ months... but the day that I take four months off is the day that you can put a bullet in my head, because I will _fight_ until the day that I _die_. [The crowd applauds.] Nate McMannis: If that means that I have to go through my best friend, Billy Rock, then so be it. If that means that I have to go through the man that I defeated three nights ago, the Idol, then so be it. If it means I gotta go through the man that I beat for my title, Carl Lumski, then so be it. If it means that I have to go through the guy that wants to take my Commissionership away from me, the Prophet, then so be it. If it means that I have to go through the guy that tried to end my career, Matthew Reason, then so fucking be it. Twenty men are going into the ring, and one man will walk out a winner. _One_ man will walk out with a shot at the IWF/WOW World Title. _One_ man will walk out as the guy that beat nineteen other guys... the guy that won the Independence Day Rumble... the guy that will _be_ the toughest mother fucker in the I/W. [The crowd begins an "EYE-DUB!" chant. Nate waits for them to settle down, and then continues.] Nate McMannis: I don't think there's a question in anyone's mind that that title... the toughest mother fucker here... belongs... to Nate McMannis. I'm gonna prove it tonight, second degree concussion and all. [He squints, as if in pain.] Nate McMannis: Tonight... the _entire_ IWF/WOW is gonna get _addressed_. [He drops the microphone and walks off camera as the scene fades back to ringside.] Jim Robson: Ladies and Gentlemen, in just a few short moments the match you all have been waiting for will begin. Jack Anderson: That's right Jim, by order of co-President Jurkschat. Twenty of the I/W's finest will step into the ring to find out who will be the next challenger for the World Heavyweight title. Jim Robson: That's right Jack, it has become a tradition here in the IWF/WOW the winner of this match goes on to face the champ whoever it may be for the most prestigious prize in the sport. There are no friends, and only foes. This should be interesting. Jack Anderson: Any predictions Jim? Jim Robson: I could go with the obvious choices Billy Rock, The Prophet, and Justin Arcola but something tells me that there might be a surprise tonight. Jack Anderson: Well obviously, Jim! All three of the men you just named were involved in all out wars in the past couple of days. Could we see a new comer walk out to challenge the winner of Travers and St. Clair? Jim lets face it, this is anyone's ball game. Jim Robson: For once Jack, I have to completely agree with you. This one is up for grabs, and I am at the edge of my seat awaiting a surprise. Jack Anderson: Well, enough banter. [...Pyro flares up at the entrance and the crowd lets out a roar of applause...] FRANCINE: Introducing the man who drew NUMBER ONE....... PA: WHO'S YOUR IDOL?!? [As "Let's Face it" by Mighty Mighty Bosstones continues to play, former IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion, the Idol, walks out. He's wearing black ring trunks, and has a serious look on his face. As he walks to the ring, the fans in the arena boo him loudly.] FRANCINE: From Charlotte, North Carolina, standing 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing in at 235 pounds... THE IDOL!!! [Idol walks down to the ring all-business. He hops up to the apron, casts a glance back at the entranceway, and then walks over to the opposite corner with the pole.] Jack Anderson: IT'S IDOL!!! The former champ! Jim, if there is anyone in this federation that can run the gauntlet this evening it is the man that is standing in the ring right now. The man has a better resume then ninety-nine percent of this roster. I feel a thrilling performance upon us this evening. Jim Robson: Don't get to excited Jack, the fact still remains he has drawn number one. The devils number. He does not get the luxury of fatigue. With this draw he has painted a bulls eye across his chest. Jack Anderson: BUT JIM!!! He's the Idol.... Jim Robson: *sigh* Well, he has been number one before, and almost won it. Now it appears that Idol is in the ring and ready for whoever the unlucky person to draw number two is. FRANCINE: AND HIS OPPONENT...THE MAN WHO DREW NUMBER TWO!!! [Suddenly, The Alleluia Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" plays over the arena PA. The crowd EXPLODES in a massive volley of boos and jeers as the arena lights go out and a series of multicolored crosses appear on the entranceway ramp. The music reaches a crescendo when a white-hot spotlight hits the entranceway and the Prophet appears, with the Choir-Master at his side. His blonde hair is worn down, past his shoulders and he wears a brightly colored robe with "Prophet" written across the back in rhinestones. The Prophet has his classic grin on his face as he makes his way to the ring, trying to glad-hand with the fans, but the fans will have none of it. As he reaches the ring, The Choir-Master holds the ropes open for the Prophet. The Prophet climbs on the second turnbuckle and raises his arms, holding them out and fully acknowledging the boos and catcalls from the hostile crowd. He makes his way to the opposite corner and repeats the pose, to more boos and flash photography. He climbs down and removes his robe, to reveal a pair of long tights, their color matching the robe he just removed, with "Prophet" written across the back and the legs and boots both sport crosses in black. His physique is well toned, not overly muscular but there is almost no body fat. The Prophet is a high-flyer but has a good technical background.] FRANCINE: About to enter the ring, from The Bible Belt, standing 6 feet and 3 inches and weighing 240 pounds, here is ... THE PROPHET!!!!! Jack Anderson: HA HA HA HA! TWO MEMBERS OF THE TRIFECTA!!!! Jim Robson: Look at Idol's face! He couldn't be any happier. I smell a rat! Jack Anderson: Well take a bath from time to time Jim, you won't have that problem. Jim Robson: This does not fair well for the person who drew number three. If these two guys play their cards right they could ride this momentum to the end. Leaving the title in the possession of the Trifecta for another three months. Jack Anderson: Another three months of paradise! Hoo-ray!!! Jim Robson: Hooray? We are supposed to be impartial here Jack. Jack Anderson: It was an impartial hooray, thank you very much! Jim Robson: Both men are in the ring and we are about to kick off the ID4 rumble. All the clocks are set. The referee gives the signal. DING! DING! DING! Jack Anderson: AND WE ARE OFF!!!! Jim Robson: The Prophet looks over at Idol, and Idol returns the glance. Both men begin to move to the center of the ring and start the match with a........HANDSHAKE??? Jack Anderson: Hand shake, that just shows the respect these two former champions have for each other. Calm down Jim, they are just getting warmed up. Jim Robson: They sure are taking their time about it. Well, it appears that all the formalities are out of the way and both men are set to begin. Collar and Elbow tie up, that's more like it. Jack Anderson: The Prophet, the bigger of the two, backs Idol into a corner. The Prophet is really showing his strength here. Jim Robson: Wait a minute, they are breaking the hold. I don't under....OH GIVE ME A BREAK! Apparently the Idol has a leg cramp. Come on and fight! Jack Anderson: What kind of sportsman are you? Take a note from the Prophet, that's class defined right there my friend. Letting his opponent recuperate from a vicious leg cramp. You know, I have heard of some leg cramps being career ending Jim. I would hate to see a former champion go down because of some silly match. Jim Robson: Career ending leg cramps?? Where do you come up with this stuff Jack? Wait a minute, it looks like the ref has had about enough of this nonsense. He is ordering the two to fight. Jack Anderson: IT'S A LEG CRAMP! DAMN IT JIM, IT'S A LEG CRAMP! Jim Robson: And probably a career ending one at that. I guess the referee used some kind of new heeling method because Idol appears to be up and ready to go now. Amazing what the threat of removal can do to a person's healing powers. Jack Anderson: Damn it Jim your an announcer, not a doctor! Jim Robson: Another collar and elbow tie up, this time Prophet pulls Idol into a standing side headlock. Idol quickly escapes and pushes Prophet into the ropes. Prophet rebounds, and Idol takes him down with a vicious shoulder block. Prophet quickly to his feet, and backs into his corner. Idol stays in the center of the ring waiting for Prophet to return to the match. Prophet quickly obliges and meets him in the center of the ring. Prophet grabs Idol and locks on a standing side arm bar. Prophet wrenches up, but Idol quickly makes it to the ropes. Jack Anderson: One minute until the next competitor comes into the ring. Jim Robson: Prophet breaks the hold, but quickly locks up with Idol once again. Irish whip into the corner, and Idol slams into the turnbuckle with a terrific thud. Prophet, follows up with a running elbow to the chin. Idol slumps in the corner with a dazed look in his eyes. Prophet raises Idol up by the chin, KNIFE EDGE CHOP.....KNIFE EDGE CHOP.....AND A THIRD ONE TO GROW ON. Jack Anderson: Satisfied now, Jim! Look at poor Idol's chest, its cherry red from those vicious chops. These are two friends in the ring, and they are fighting like bitter enemies. I can't watch... Jim Robson: Prophet looks to be going for an early out on Idol and grabs him by the leg. Idol counters with a thumb to the eye and puts a quick end to his early exit. Idol takes advantage of Prophet's temporary blindness and sends him down hard to the mat with a running clothesline. Idol bounces off the ring ropes and delivers a knee drop square across the Prophets forehead. Prophet clutches his face, that might have broken something Jack. Jack Anderson: PLEASE FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM DON'T FIGHT LIKE THIS! Jim Robson: Idol, grabs a handful of the Prophets scalp and brings him to his feet. Idol points to the ring ropes. I think the Idol is going to send Prophet on an early flight out of here. Jack Anderson: Wait....the clock is ticking down. Its only ten seconds left. Crowd: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... ***BUZZER*** Jim Robson: The Idol has stopped his onslaught and turns his attention to the aisle way. Prophet begins to shake off the effects of the knee drop. [Scott Richards slowly makes his way to the ring, and reluctantly slides into the ring through the bottom rope. Before he has a chance to get to his feet The Prophet and The Idol jump on him and start pounding away...] Jim Robson: This is the exact thing I was fearful of. Two minutes ago these two were about to cut each others throats, but now they are on poor Scott Richards like a couple pitbulls on a T-bone steak. Richards exit was signed before he even walked through the curtain. Jack Anderson: He he he, I knew the Trifecta would come through for me. That's why they are the best group of guys the IWF/WOW has ever seen. Jim Robson: Well, apparently these two sportsman as you put it earlier are showing little sympathy here as they continue to stomp Scott Richards into oblivion. The question is not how, but when. The Prophet pulls the beaten Scott Richards to his feet and slaps him across the jaw. Richards spins from the impact of the blow, but only to catch a fist in the side of the head from Idol. Richards falls back into the waiting arms of Prophet, who drops him promptly hits him with a reverse DDT. [Idol and Prophet give each other a high five over the fallen body of Richards. The Idol lifts Richards to his feet. The Prophet stands directly behind the Idol his back to the ring ropes. The Idol grabs the hand of Richards and Irish whips him into the waiting shoulder of The Prophet...] Jack Anderson: BACK BODY DROP OVER THE DROP ROPE!!!! Jim Robson: And Richards is gone. Jack Anderson: See ya, good-bye, ciao, bon voyage. You know I thought he would put up more of a fight then that. Jim Robson: Well Jack, when you are in the ring with two former IWF/WOW champions there really isn't much you can do. Crowd: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... ***BUZZER*** [Carl Lumski charges out to the ring as the fans give a good pop.] Jim Robson: IT'S LUMSKI!!!! IT'S LUMSKI!!! Jack Anderson: Oh great....its Lumpski. Sorry if I snore to loud. Jim Robson: He has his equalizer with him too! Lumski is wasting no time. He slides under the bottom ring rope, goes right between the legs of The Prophet. Fluer grabs the leg of Idol slowing him down. Jack Anderson: SHE HAS NO PLACE HERE! NONE AT ALL!! Here comes Choir Master, thank goodness he is going to put a stop to this. He grabs Fluer and spins her around. Jim Robson: Choir Master better be careful who is preaching that religion too. Jack Anderson: Give her HEAVEN CM! SHE NEEDS SOME RELIGION! Shameless hussy. Jim Robson: What are you like ninety? Shameless Hussy? Jack Anderson: No! It's just that Fluer has no place here in the IWF/WOW. She is a woman, and needs to be at home cooking and cleaning. If Lumpski had any kind of balls whatsoever he would put her in the kitchen where she belongs. Baking brownies and cookies, not doing body slams and monkey flips. Jim Robson: Please mark all complaints care of, JACK ANDERSON IS AN IDIOT, TORONTO, CANADA. Jack Anderson: MCPENIS!!!! Jim Robson: Huh? Jack Anderson: Nothing.... Jim Robson: Anyway! Choir Master continues to back Fluer up with his Religion. Lumski and Prophet are exchanging punches. If Lumski can last two more minutes maybe he will get lucky and get someone who will help him fight off the jackals! Jack Anderson: The Trifecta is completely in control - cruise control all the way. Jim Robson: Lumski with a block and delivers a judo thrust into the throat of Idol. Not exactly fancy but it gets the job done. Idol drops back and Lumski follows with a knife edge chop. Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right. Lumpski is going to town on Idol. Scoop Slam!!! And Idol hits the mat hard. Jack Anderson: Looks like TP is going to the top rope now. I wonder what he is going to pull out of his arsenal on this one? Jim Robson: I don't know, but it doesn't look good for Lumski who has his back turned. The Prophet looks down from high up above.......FLYING DROP KICK HITS LUMSKI! The Crowd: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... ***BUZZER*** [Maverick comes down to the ring to a fairly mixed reaction.] Jim Robson: OH NELLIE! THE ODDS JUST GOT A LITTLE BIT BETTER! HERE COMES THE BIG MAN! Jack Anderson: If he was smart he would help the Trifecta take out Lumpski! He's hurt and will be of no use to Mav when the time comes to but heads with the Trifecta. Jim Robson: Maverick is wasting no time getting to the ring. Maverick slides in quickly and The Prophet meets him halfway. AND THE FIGHT IS ON! Idol jumps to his feet leaving Lumski. Look at the size difference between the three men standing right now, Maverick the big man towers over The Prophet and The Idol. Jack, this man right here might be the dark horse in this match. He's big, he's strong, and he is fresh. Out of the three in the ring, Mav is the only one that hasn't been involved in the card thus far. He clobbers The Prophet with a thunderous punch, and headbutts The Idol. Maverick is on fire here folks. Jack Anderson: But it's still early in the rumble, and Maverick has a while to go in there. Jim Robson: Maverick grabs the Prophet, Irish whip into the ropes from the big man. SNAP POWERSLAM! The Prophet grabs his back in pain. Maverick, drops a lateral based leg drop across the throat of Prophet. Lumski, has locked in a camel clutch on The Idol and wrenches back hard on his neck. Jack Anderson: That show's how stupid Lumski is, trying to get the guy to submit in an over the top Rumble. Jim Robson: The how do you explain that arm bar that Idol used earlier? Or can you? Jack Anderson: Strategy Jim, Strategy. Jim Robson: Lumski has released the hold and gets to his feet. The Idol begins to push himself to a lateral but catches a sharp elbow into his spine. Lumski, walks to the top of The Idol's head and locks in a front chancery. SNAP SUPLEX!! The Idol landed hard. Lumski is not letting up, he wants this match as much as anyone in the ring right now. Lumski grabs The Idol and drags him over to the ropes. Looks like we are going to have our first elimination attempt on a member of The Trifecta. Lumski calls over to Maverick. Maverick makes his way across the ring and both men grab The Idol. Jack Anderson: HANG ON IDOL! HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE! Jim Robson: I don't think that he has much of a choice in the matter. He is teetering on that rope like a cat on a hot tin roof. Lumpski with a couple hard shots to the head. The Prophet still suffering the effects of that huge leg drop by Maverick hasn't moved. The Prophet, is almost over. AND HERE COMES THE CHOIR MASTER! Jack Anderson: YEAH! ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS! Jim Robson: I can't believe this, he is holding The Idol in the air with everything he has. I don't think that Lumski and Maverick even realize it! The Idol continues to hang on for dear life. The Crowd: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... ***BUZZER*** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IWF/WOW EGOS & ICONS 2001 CONTINUES... [The fans begin booing as Fusion slowly makes his way out to the ring.] Jim Robson: Here comes Fusion, he's drawn number six. Jack Anderson: You know, there are three men in the ring right now who have previous experience in the Independence Day Rumble. The Prophet, the Idol and Fusion have all fought before, and I am sure they will use this to their advantage. Jim Robson: I'm sure they will. Idol had made his way back inside the ring to avoid the elimination. Fusion jumps in the ring now, he's going after Carl Lumski. Jack Anderson: These two have had kind of an off and on feud. If you ask me, Lumski is just avoiding Fusion. Jim Robson: Lumski has the upper hand on him right now though as Lumski whips him into the ropes. NO!! Reversal by Fusion... Fursion catches "Coach Potato" Carl Lumski... SPINEBUSTER SLAM!! Jack Anderson: Ohh... come on now Fusion, throw him out! Jim Robson: Well Fusion is picking Lumski up and bringing him over to the side of the ring... he picks him up... AND LUMSKI HANGS ONTO THE RING ROPES TO STOP HIMSELF FROM GOING OVER!! Jack Anderson: Ohh! Come on, get rid of that punk. Jim Robson: Fusion doesn't get a chance to try again as the Prophet comes over... he comes from behind... CLOTHESLINE BY THE PROPHET SENDS FUSION OVER THE TOP!! Jack Anderson: BUT FUSION HANGS ON!! Jim Robson: Just barely. Lumski gets to his feet now and he's trading blows with the Prophet... these two IWF/WOW superstars are going back and forth, back and forth. Jack Anderson: You know what would be a smart strategy right now? To find a spot, keep quiet, sit back and relax. If you're going to win it, and you're in this early, you've got at least thirty more mintes to go. Jim Robson: I don't know how anyone could survive that long in an environment like this. Jack Anderson: May I remind you of the Angel of Death at the original Independence Day Rumble? Jim Robson: Good point. He raises up looking at all the fans, then steps through the top and middle rope. St. Clair walks to his corner and crosses his arms awaiting the bell...] Jim Robson: Folks, the tension is sky high here tonight... the fans here are pumped, and so are Travers and St. Clair. Jim Robson: Right now he's just watching as all three men are down in the ring, not moving at all. [Suddenly, two very large men dressed in black jeans, black masks, and D.A.R.E. t-shirts come out through the crowd.] Jack Anderson: Oh my... [The screen changes cameras and shows Vice President Thompson walking down the aisle, with a stern look on his face.] Jim Robson: Vice President Thompson is coming down to put a stop to this nonsense... if co-President Jurkschat won't, maybe he will... Wait... What's he doing? [The camera once again shows Thompson, this time motioning for one of the men to go to the top rope, and then motioning for them to remove their masks. The two men remove their masks, and a loud pop echoes throughout the MCI Center as long time IWF/WOW fans recognize the two men in the ring.] Jim Robson: OH MY GAWD!! Jack Anderson: BODY COUNT!?!? Jim Robson: ANTHONY THOMAS AND AL BARBER ARE STANDING IN THE RING OF THE MCI CENTER!! THE TWO TIME FORMER AND FIRST IWF/WOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ARE ATTACKING SHANE ST CLAIR!!! AND VICE PRESIDENT THOMPSON IS NOT DOING A DAMN THING TO STOP THIS!!! [The crowd pops and a camera shows Commissioner McMannis coming down the aisle. Thompson sees him and turns towards him putting his hand up to stop him. A camera moves in close.] Nate McMannis: Why the hell are you letting them do this!?!? VP Thompson: I found your "punishment" of Shane St Clair for throwing my sister-in-law off the second deck of the MAYHEM Arena to be insufficient. Nate McMannis: I'm stopping this... VP Thompson: YOU'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING MCMANNIS!!! Remember what happened to Kenneth Halston? You may have control over some of the wrestling in the I/W, but ultimately, you still report to ME!! Nate McMannis: This is WRONG!! VP Thompson: No... I'm RIGHTING a wrong, and doing something I should have done in the first place. So DON'T MOVE!! [The glare in Thompson's eyes is stern, and McMannis, against his will, backs away but stays close. Suddenly, co-President Jurkschat, who has been watching what has been going on, walks over to Thompson looking furious.] co-President Jurkschat: What the hell are you doing Wade? [VP Thompson starts to walk away, but Jurkschat grabs his shoulder and stops him.] VP Thompson: Sorry Chris, but I have to do this. [With that, VP Thompson winds up and takes a swing at co-President Jurkschat, knocking him to the floor and out cold.] Jim Robson: I can't believe VP Thompson just hit his boss! Jack Anderson: Somehow, I don't think he really wanted too. [Thompson turns away from Jurkschat and McMannis, and the camera picks up Body Count continuing to beat on St Clair. Barber, the larger of the two lifts St Clair to his feet, and then lifts him up on his shoulders, and goes into the corner.] Jim Robson: Al Barber has St Clair seated on his shoulders, and Anthony Thomas is on the top rope. They used to call this move Lights Out... TOP ROPE BULLDOG!!! ST CLAIR IS OUT COLD!!! Jack Anderson: Talk about justice!! I didn't think Thompson still had it in him!! Jim Robson: Barber and Thomas are exiting the ring, and walking to over to where Thompson and McMannis are standing in the aisle. [Thompson looks back into the ring and catches the eye of a surprised Eric Travers who has pulled himself up to his knees and is leaning on the ropes. Thompson turns back to McMannis and points to the back. McMannis stands firm, but then grudgingly begins to move as the two 300 plus pound members of Body Count move towards him. McMannis looks extremely angered as he turns and walks to the back.] Jim Robson: McMannis is making his way to the back, and he looks none too happy with what has gone down. Thompson, with Thomas on one side, and Barber on the other is walking back... [Crowd pops again] Jim Robson: Thompson's wife, and former manager Heather has just appeared in the entranceway, along with her sister Tricia Lane!!! Jack Anderson: I'm glad she's up and moving again after that shot Fleur Gardyn gave her!! [Thompson stops in front of the two women. The camera shows a close view of the five people in the entrance. You can clearly see Heather look at Thompson and say "Thank you". VP Thompson, looks at her and takes her hand in his, gives it a squeeze, and then walks behind the curtain as his wife looks on.] Jim Robson: VP Thompson doesn't look very happy. I don't think he wanted to do some of the things he did, like take out Jurkschat. Jack Anderson: Who cares, I'm thrilled!! [Heather looks back at Body Count and thanks them as well, hugging both of them and then walks behind the curtain. Body Count each get a hug from Lane as well before they too disappear behind the curtain. Lane, who is dressed in a pair of Nike tear-aways and an Eric Travers "Black and Gold" t-shirt runs down the aisle and over to Travers who is just getting to his feet.] Jim Robson: Travers just has to pin St. Clair now!! Travers lifts St Clair, and drags him over to the ropes. OH MY WORD!!!! Jack Anderson: THAT HAD TO HURT!! Jim Robson: Tricia Lane just slapped St. Clair as hard as I've EVER seen a woman slap a man!!
