Hi everyone, Here are some of the poll comments/results from the CM6 poll. Overall, looks like everyone thought it was a decent card, some thinking it was better than others. Anyways, on with the results... [1] On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and 1 horrible, rate Christmas Madness 6. "9. Would be a ten, if not for the botched opening, but hey... :)" "Man the PPV was awesome. I'll throw out a 9. I was impressed, and I was in it! WOOO!" "started off REALLY slow....everything before Travers/Reason was awful. Would even be bad by Mayhem standards. However, if the PPV had just been from Travers/Reason on, it would've been a 9 or 10. Unfortunately, I can't go higher than a 7 because of the bad taste from the opening matches" "9. With the exception of Davis/Sanders.. which while funny, just didn't hold my interest.. it was a very solid card." "I'd say an eight or nine. Excellent all-around card." "7 - The top matches were great... undercard, OK" "It was an average PPV, I'd say around a 6 or 7." MY COMMENTS: Overall, I thought it was a good. As many others said, and I do agree, the upper card was stronger, IMO. Although I thought every match had a good feud behind it, and was written well... the upper card matches just all had a ton of heat behind them to make them stronger. [2] With that being said, was this p-p-v better, worse, or on par with our last p-p-v, Summer Explosion VI? What about the fed as a whole? "SE was more of a complete card. (However,) the fed as a whole is much better, with the emergence of more top-tier players (Storm, ALW, etc.)" "I think it was about the same as SE6, and defniitely more evenly balanced as far as angles and the distribution of RP-ing goes" "Summer Explosion seemed more balanced to me. Christmas Madness was a good show, and had some great matches, but Explosion was more balanced as an event." "On Par - The anticipation of the Main Event carried both cards really well, and the undercard was sturdy. I'm glad to say that as a whole the fed is on par with how it was 4 months ago because the participation is still here, and I think most of us are used to seeing activity dwindles in the fall." "I think the PPV was better then Summer Explosion. More heated rivals, and some bad ass fueds that transpired." "I think SE was a much better card. But it had a different feel, i.e. UWC. I think with the influx of new talent, it might be time to start ranking guys in tiers, i.e. World Contenders, IC contenders, NA contenders" "I think both pay-per-views were great in their own way. IMHO, the fed is going great guns, as always." "Better. Great card for pure wrestling. Went a long way to show that there doesn't need to be a surprise around every corner to make it a great show." "Angle wise I loved reason vs Travers and It was okay but I thought it could of been a bit better The angle with storm and all turning heel......but it was still solid...I did rank the ppv a 9 remember =)........writing wise...I loved main event and reason vs travers" "Best Writing - Arcola/Rock. Good ol' fashioned wrestling was the key to making the main event really strong, and the suspense made me wet myself multiple times :). Best Angle - The Towel match turned out better than I expected. I enjoyed McMannis' search for a buddy and I like where that angle is going ("Godd*mmit, Nate! If I wanted to deal with this kind of garbage I'd get married!") lol. Worst Writing - I guess the Davis/Sanders match. I know that was done last minute, and there were some really funny parts ("maybe these two should have come into tonight with some STRATEGIES!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"). But even considering the pressure to get the card out, the kayfabe stuff shouldn't have been done on a PPV. Worst Angle - Maverick vs. Malcolm/Prophet. Sorry but the appearance of Jaime Malcolm was just lame :), and if Maverick is already up against this huge stable, then throwing in another guy from outta nowhere doesn't make any difference." "Best writing: I absolutely loved the McMannis/d'Artois match....everything about it was well done. Close second was RRJ/SSC, which was very fun to read. Best angle: Travers vs. Reason....loved every bit of the angle :)" "The best match would have to be Arcola/Rock. I've always liked their feud. The main event was the big payoff of months and months of hard work by Brian and Matt. Kudos to the both of them!" "I loved the build up to the Rock/ Arcola match. I expected Arcola to win, but having Rock take the title made it a total surprise." "Angle wise, the best had to be Travers/Reason thanks to the whole Tricia Lane swerve and D'ARtois/McMannis for the turn by Trevor Storm." "I wrote the IC title match, so I can't really give an opinion, but I really liked Storm's heel turn at the end. I loved the Rock - Arcola match. A great pure wrestling match with the world title contested for and decided cleanly like it should be. The RRJ - SSC match was great for the "sport entertainment" aspect. VP Thompson played a great, and key, role like it should be done. There really wasn't a dull match on the whole card. All the writers did a helluva job." "What was great about this card was that almost every match was solid with angle buildup. We had 4 marquee matches and the undercard wasn't half bad either. Arcola/Rock, SSC/RRJ, McMannis/d'Artois, and Travers/Reason were all solid." [4] Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? "Actually, I thought Maverick should have won, and that DSC should have won the Tag Team Turmoil. Both put in a little more energy and depth into their characters than their competition." "SSC - RRJ was neck and neck, and I wouldn't envy having to decide it, but after looking at the big picture I think I would've chosen to put over St. Clair. And don't get me started on Maverick losing to Damien Malcom and Prophet." [5] What was the biggest shocker, if any, of the event? "The mummification of d'Artois was shocking in its coolness. Thumbs up to Ameet." "Biggest shocker? Trevor Storm's turn, though it close." "Billy Rock winning the World Title. I was starting to wonder if ANYONE could ever take that title off of Arcola!" "No shocker, as far as I was concerned." "The Tricia Lane turn/re-turn was a good strat, I enjoyed that. " "The swerve by Tricia Lane. Her speech "dumping" Eric Travers had me so jonesing so the upcoming cycle with Travers as the stunned lonely heart. Not to mention the possibility a turned Tricia Lane created for a women's division. And then at the end, Tricia seasons Reason with the old salt in the eye trick. Totally flawless execution." "tie between the Storm turn, the Tricia double-turn, and the Dubois non-turn which was very very well-written!!! That whole McMannis/d'Artois match included some new innovative ways to write a towel match, which used to be very stale, overdone, and cliche. I'm now liking them more because of the way the writer did the match. McMannis is now ready for a World title run against Rock. d'Artois also has something fresh to work with." Least? What storys would you like to see in the next couple of months? "Malcolm's stuff has improved greatly since he first came to the fed. Arcola/Rock has always been a joy for me to read. Mitchell Davis is also an interesting character that never fails to entertain me." "I was really getting to like the direction of the Travers/Reason feud, and was disappointed the activity dropped there. Same goes for Shane Sanders in his feud w/ Davis. Oh well. Around post-WrestleFest time, a lot of characters were working with each other and angles were crossing over. I'd like to see a lot of feuds get mashed with other feuds again and see how they take off, rather than just having the final match that unofficially ends the feud." "Travers/Reason (anything with Reason is awesome, and Travers more than held up his part of the feud), Rock/Arcola is done for now, McMannis/d'Artois was surprisingly strong. " "the tags are still dead....RRJ & SSC injected a wonderful breath of fresh air into it....but once they broke up, it was back to the way it was. The Jayson/Dagger team has potential, but you know what you're getting with ALW. The skateboarder team may also prove to be decent....but those three teams definitely need a hot storyline to save the tags. " "I was really lured into the Reason - Travers feud at first, but man, don't tease me like that. If you're gonna get my attention like that then keep it. An RP a week, the minimum you can do, is all it takes and it doesn't consume much time. Follow through. The RRJ - SSC break-up/feud was just AWESOME. From St. Clair's labeling and "proof" of RRJ being retarded to RRJ's "Fleur Treatment" of St. Clair, to the VP Thompson ref swerve. All the makings of a classic feud. Maverick and Damien Malcom did very well too of providing some great mid-card title action. Some good, old school feuding there. And all of a sudden I'm wondering what the hell has gotten into Mickey Charmer/Mitchell Davis. Christian's spinning out some really good stuff since the character tweak. McMannis and d'Artois did NOT impress me. McMannis's return was well done, but after that, and walking into a nice sunny spot with the IC title, there was just nothing behind it. No follow up. Just here and there on Mayhem. Don't think the match should've gotten second billing on the PPV, even if it was an IC title match. I'm really looking forward to Trevor Storm as a heel, and his feud with McMannis. Wanna see where Arcola goes from here. Have a special interest in seeing how Billy does as top dog. And hoping to see RRJ and SSC continue their feud. Also looking forward to maybe a Devonshire - Malcom NA Title feud." "Havn't been in the fed for the last couple months, but of what I've seen.. Reason/Rock was damn good, Jeremy/St. Clair was excellent.. I liked Reason/Travers, as well, though the first two beat that one out. Arcola/Rock was a rollercoaster." "I've loved the Billy Rock and Arcola story. I've liked Reason's insanity angles but now that he's gone nevermind. Nate McMannis and d'Artois was good, but over now I guess." " Rock/Arcola was great, as always. SSC/RRJ had the depth of a great rivalry; it went from serious to funny to plain surreal. I must say I'm not a fan of this United Aristocracy though, no offense to anyone involved, but a collection of half a dozen people that all band together for collective strength just makes the individuals look weaker by comparison. " [8] What do you currently like and dislike about the IWF/WOW? "I love the variety of characters here. And as always it's great that everyone one of them is so active and willing to strut their stuff. It's pretty easy for newcomers to get involved; they rarely get lost in the shuffle. The IRC chats are good because we can meet who else is around and build onto angles." "flow of cards, well written matches, angle and card work in general... and nuttin i dislike man....solid fed" "Likes: Great OOC folks, Diverse IC characters, active roster, great card.. hell, great fed overall. Dislikes: Ah.. actually, havn't found any yet. As long as I like the fed, I'm a happy handler. :)" "Too many of the "veterans" wishing for the gold old days. Not willing to work with the newer guys on angles or pointers. I have tried numerous times to work with others, but with the exception of Brian and Kenny I've had no response. " "I love how everyone's stepping up and contributing lately. It's not just one or two angles that are at the top, we had a great even distribution of stuff this cycle. Hell, even the tag division had heat." "The biggest upside I would say are the people in this league. I've found everyone quite agreeable and very easy to work with. This was a great title reign, and I'm sorry to see it end :)" "Well, besides the fact that I haven't won a match since Summer Explosion (not even a jobber bout!), everything's cool...
