Real Name: Kelly Mays Ring Name: Kelly Godless Associations: Sedition Rising (w/Ryley Wynters, Johnny Roman & Alexis Sykes) Hometown: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Height & Weight: 6'1" 225lbs. Alignment: Heel Entrance Music: "Rio Bravo" by CKY Ring Attire: Wrestling Style: Kelly is fast and deadly. His moves are calculated within an instant and he likes to surprise his opponents. He is more of a strong style wrestler with elements of lucha libre. Title History: Superstar History: When Kelly first signed his life away to Scott Palmer, head trainer at the Maple Factory, he wasn't quite sure what he was getting into. Scott Palmer had been known throughout Canada and the world for producing top tier talent, (such as Cody Clark) and then unleashing them on the independent scene. A former World Champion in his own right, Palmer was a very intimidating person. Kelly entered the training camp, and adopted a new surname. When asked why he wouldn't reveal his true last name by the MF administration, Kelly simply replied 'I'm not sure that name will properly describe me anymore.' And because he wouldn't give identification or any form of proof that he was a Canadian citizen, he was almost turned away. But Palmer was intrigued by Kelly's shady nature and decided to let him into the class on the condition that Kelly wouldn't make him regret his decision. Through the first six months of 2007, Kelly trained with Scott Palmer at the Maple Factory. Through this training he earned the names 'Phantom' and 'Kelly Precision' because of the way he moved in the ring, with ghost-like grace and assassin-like accuracy. Although many asked, Kelly never gave hist last name, he just responded to the nicknames given to him. In June 2007, Kelly graduated from the Maple Factory. From there, Scott recommended that Kelly go to Japan, and he offered to talk to some promoters he knew over there in order to get Kelly a contract. Kelly agreed to go, and although he was suffering from intense personal conflicts, he felt that competing in a new land could shed some light on his problems. At the time, no one knew of his intense inner turmoil, they all just thought he was quiet and dedicated to honing his craft. In Japan, Godless wrestled under the name Reikoku Maboroshi which roughly translates to Relentless Phantom in Japanese. He also wrestled under a mask, for fear of 'gaijin' persecution. He performed for a small time Japanese promotion, mainly in dark matches in the undercard, in which he was paid a small bit extra, to lose. And Kelly would oblige, essentially. The rage that was inside him needed to be vented, so he'd beat his opponent(s) within an inch of their life, before simply dropping to the mat, and draping their their arm over him. This made the bookers extremely un-happy, but he had a fairly long contract and could not be fired. So for the next six months, Reikoku Maboroshi ran rampant on the undercard, making a joke out of the promotion's talent. Many suggested that he be pushed up the card, out of dark matches to be taught a lesson by the top talent, but the officials didn't want to reward his behavior. Once his contract was up in January of 2008, Reikoku Maboroshi returned home. Once home in Toronto, Kelly retired the mantle of Reikoku Maboroshi and started looking for work. He was contacted by his trainer and mentor, Scott Palmer. Kelly wondered what Palmer's reaction would and surprisingly, he wasn't angry. He looked at Kelly's actions in Japan as a testament to how good of a training centre, the Maple Factory was. So Palmer offered to help Kelly get a contract in North America. He had heard that the legal matter between Cody Clark and Reno Drake would soon be resolved and eWo would re-open in March. Kelly said he'd love to work for the company, and told Palmer he'd be back in March. Kelly didn't tell Scott where he was going, because he already knew.
Where did Kelly go? He traveled to Cassadaga, Florida in search of answers about his past and mores specifically, his mother. When he was a child, his father moved him, his mother and his brother there, but Kelly has scarce memories about being there. Once back in Cassadaga, Kelly visited a mystic by the name of Priestess Moira. Through self exploration of regressed memories with the aid of memory tea, Kelly remembered where his mother was. She was in the Zephyrhills Correctional Facility, in Pasco County, Florida. Kelly refused to visit his mother in prison and he returned to Canada, signing his contract with eWo. By regressing his memories of the past even more, Kelly's mental health became more unstable.
In the weeks leading up to his debut, messages were sent to eWo fans randomly during Violence broadcasts. Each message preached about a world without rules and reason. With this, Godless set his sights on taking out eWo Champion, Kyle Cross. Unfortunately, Cross left eWo before Godless could get his hands on him. Instead, Kelly teamed up with a like minded individual in Ryley Wynters.
The two became known as Sedition Rising, eventually adding Johnny Roman to their group. The three of them ran rampant over eWo, looking to destroy the company itself. Godless & Wynters won two Tag-Team Championships and feuded with The Takeover. But Godless really began to show signs of sociopathic behavior when he answered the biggest challenge of his career.
The Legend was retiring and he wanted one last match. Godless answered the challenge, saying that he would be glad to usher Legend out of eWo forever. The two then engaged in a bitter feud that saw Godless break into Legend's home and steal his Hall of Fame plaque. Godless then burned the plaque in the middle of the ring. Legend retaliated by costing Godless and Wynters the Tag-Team titles in a match against The New Standard. Legend also visited Veronica Mays, (Godless' mother) in prison, something even Godless himself had never done. Legend proceeded to scare Mrs. Mays into a panic, as Kelly watched from Toronto.
Although he refused to see his mother, Godless was deeply angered by Legend's actions. This caused him to take the feud to a new level. Godless traveled to Paris, France and proceeded to attack Legend's sister, brutally. Legend nearly tore apart the lockeroom after this and vowed to kill Godless at License to Thrill. But six days before the event, Cody Clark traveled to Paris in order to deal with Godless personally. Clark and Godless were both absent from eWo for a time after that, causing Godless to miss his match with Legend.
When Godless reappeared in November of 2008, he was once again joined by Johnny Roman and Ryley Wynters as Sedition Rising. They also added a new member in Alexis Sykes. The quartet proceeded to blow up Cody Clark's limo at No Return and the following week, beat Clark to a bloody pulp, hospitalizing him. Sedition Rising explained that Clark was killing eWo, his ego and his pride got in the way of the company evolving naturally. When they attempted to set ablaze the World Championship, they were confronted by Reno Drake, Bobby and Bill Dynamite. They beat down the Dynamite's but Reno Drake was able to make the save. The match was made for End of Days; Godless, Wynters & Sykes against Clark and The Dynamites. But at the event, Bobby Dynamite turned on Bill and Clark. He then assisted Sedition Rising in hanging his brother in front of the entire world.
Sedition Rising had finally removed Cody Clark from eWo and from there, set out to destroy the company. With the addition of Quiksilver (Bobby Dynamite) to the group, they have become more powerful and threatening than ever before. Can eWo survive Sedition Rising? Or will they finally get their chaotic utopia?
