He recieved a phone call from Jen Blazenwing shortly after that, asking him if he'd be willing to join BWF in a tag team called the New School Marvels (NsM) with a fellow new comer, Chris McKnight.
Clark agreed and the two hit it off immediatly, joining BWF and impressing quickly. McKnight was sidelined with an injury two months into their BWF stint and Clark went into singles competition.
After a singles loss, Clark got himself motivated and felt that he needed to make an impact. The following month would be the perfect time for him to do so. He entered the heavily famed BWF Happenstance Tournament, defeating Ace to qualify, then defeating Josh McKlick in the quarter finals, Austin Pyromania in the semi-finals and the BWF International Champion, Mark McNasty in the finals to come out of nowhere and win the BWF Happenstance Crown for 2005.
He went from small success to the second biggest name in BWF in the matter of one month. With his Happenstance Crown win, Clark earned a shot at The Executioner and the BWF Championship (then Undisputed Championship). This was seen as a match of the year candidate and Clark had the Executioner pinned, but his shoulders were also down so the three count secured a draw for both men, with Executioner retaining the BWF Championship.
Clark was forced to take time off from BWF after a knee injury in the championship match but when he returned, his was in finer form than ever. When he returned Clark had great battles, all of which he won, and earned further respect of the fans. He was on the roll of his life and nothing was stopping that, not even a match where his partner, Toco didn't show up. But Clark was lucky, someone just happened to be in town and he was medically cleared to wrestle. In a match against Adriana Garcia and Rob Torborg, Clark called out Chris McKnight and that night, NsM was reborn! They defeated Garcia and Torborg but from there, they entered into a feud with BWF Hall of Famer, Ghost.
NsM pissed Ghost off and it lead to a casket match at Vertigo 2005 between Cody Clark and the Hall of Famer. The match ended when Chris McKnight popped out of the casket, dressed as former BWF star, and recently deceased, Dorian Black! This shocked Ghost and it allowed Clark the opportunity to dump Ghost into the casket to win the match. After the contest, the 'Dudes' painted the NsM logo on the casket and then set it ablaze, sending Ghost away from BWF forever.
Now that NsM was reunited and in full force, the duo once again set their sights on gold. But not tag-team gold, they both wanted their own singles belts. Two people who happened to hold singles gold were Eden Turner and Alejandro Diego. NsM challenged the duo to a match for both titles but it wasn't any ordinary match. NsM had a legendary TLC match against Alejandro Diego and Eden Turner which saw Clark capture his first major title, the BWF International Championship. McKnight wasn't able to grab the BWF X-Division Championship in time, and this left him somewhat bitter.
Clark defended the title for over two months and was Scott Palmer's Number One Draft Pick for his Crisis Brand of BWF. This brand split resulted in Chris McKnight being drafted to Havok, to chase the X-Division Championship and NsM was once again broken up. Clark was the main man on Crisis, defending the championship against all comers before losing it to Brian Cade in a Jail Cell Match. A match that many fans still believed was rigged so that Clark would drop the title. Stating that BWF was scared he'd never lose it, unless they screwed him out of the belt. After this match, Clark was sidelined with an injury and that resulted in some time off.
He returned to take on Rob Torborg, Captain Marticus and Toco in a Path To Glory match which saw Clark eliminate Torborg, but the match was ultimately won by Captain Marticus (with much controversy.) This match was to set a challenger for The Legend's World Heavyweight Championship and had Clark won, many believed that we may have seen one of the best Wrestlefest matches ever. Clark would meet Legend for the first time in a few months though...
Clark then proceeded to "quit" BWF before returning shortly after 2006 began, going on to defeat Phoenix in a bloody Parking Lot Brawl for the Primetime Championship on a January 30th, 2006 edition of Havok! Clark stated that he wanted to have a great birthday and he wanted to restore dignity to the title that his lineage dating back to the old eWo. Clark got his birthday present that night and still looks at it as one of his favorite matches.
Clark lost the title to David Blazenwing in February, then formed the New School Regime with Kyle Cross, Legend, Alex Wilkie and co. at Hearts on Fire 2006. The group was sick of being screwed by the BWF and through this faction, The Legend and Cody Clark became good friends.
While in the NsR, Clark decided to change his life. He quit drinking in order to be in better physical shape to chase the BWF Championship and on whim, he married Kimberly Jarvis, the wife of professional wrestler Lawrence Jarvis. At that time, Clark barely knew Jarvis. He was attacked by him after a cage match late in the year before but nothing came of it.
Through all this change, Clark captured the BWF Championship from Kirlia Gardevoir on the March 20th, 2006 edition of Havok in a Career vs. Title match set-up by David Blazenwing. Clark won with a top rope Deadicator and finally reached the top of the mountain in BWF.
He lost the championship in an Elimination Chamber match and then engaged in a bitter feud with former mentor, Scott Palmer. Palmer blamed Clark for the downfall of his marriage to Stacy Masters (Palmer) and wanted to deal Clark the same pain that he felt. Palmer sent Stryker Cloud to take out Clark but to no avail, Clark defeated him. Palmer and Clark squared off at BWF Danger Zone 2006 in a Stretcher Match. The match was brutal and Clark came out the winner, much to the delight of fans. During the weeks leading up to this match, fans on the internet were discussing rumors of Clark leaving BWF after that match. Those rumors turned out to be true, it was his last BWF appearence for six months.
Clark left BWF because he was offered a better contract from the new promotion, Project X: Wrestling. He came to px:w to work for Paul Reynolds and was happy to have some new surroundings. Clark was the first signing for the company and that attracted major talent like Lawrence Jarvis and Bill Dynamite. Clark defeated Chris Roman, Alex Wilkie, Shane Ellop and eWo Legend, Seth Dryden to make it to the finals of the px:w World Title tournament. All while he was engaged in a feud with his wife, Kimberly Jarvis' father Lawrence. The finals saw Cody Clark face Lawrence Jarvis in a Last Man Standing match, refereed by Bill Dynamite to determin the first px:w World Champion.
Clark won, and won the respect of his father in law. Over the next month Clark defended the championship in an awesome match against old NsR co-hort turned rival, The Legend. Clark successfully defended his championship and then went on to a triple threat, Hell in a Cell match at px:w Hell and Back 2006. Clark was pinned by Jarvis but to this date, it was the greatest match in px:w history. Clark and Jarvis clashed one month later at State of Revenge and with help from his Dynasty co-hort Reno Drake, Lawrence Jarvis retained the championship.
Clark hooked up with Gabe Reno and Simon King as The Iconoclast for a short time but after High Impact, Gabe Reno and Simon King left the company, dissolving the group. Within this time, Cody had a brief feud with Dylan Dunn which culminated with a match between the two at High Impact, that Clark lost.
After suffering three consecutive losses on pay per view, Cody seized an opportunity to break the losing streak on ppv. Clark went one on one with Reno Drake for the World Championship at No Return '06 when the title was vacated by Bill Dynamite. Clark hit the Deadicator and won his second px:w World Championship.
But shortly after, px:w closed and Cody Clark was left out of work. He and his wife Kimberly also started arguing more and more about money and after a night in Vegas, Clark filed for divorce. It was a quick divorce as they weren't married long enough for Kimberly to get any money.
Cody Clark then returned to his roots in the BWF, where he defeated his long time friend and now nemesis, Bill Dynamite at WrestleFest IV. Clark made 'The Idol' submit to the Canadian favored Sharpshooter in the center of the ring that night, and then viciously beat him with a steel chair. Dynamite suffered a severe concussion and was out of action for six months after that, leaving Clark a rejuvinated man.
From there, Clark set his sights on the BWF Championship. He won a qualifying match and entered the Elimination Chamber at Survival of the Sickest 2007. His opponents were Eden Turner, The Executioner, Chris Roman, Casey Campbell and the Legend. Clark had a career highlight moment when he knocked Eden Turner through a glass chamber with a pair of brass knuckles but in the end, it was the Legend who eliminated Clark last, to become the BWF Champion.
Clark and Legend faced off the following month and Clark lost again, but after that he was appointed as the BWF General Manager, running the federation for four months. But after repeated interference in his affairs from David Blazenwing and Jen Corlen, Clark decided it was time to leave BWF.
Clark, along with AJ Donavon, Reno Drake, The Legend, Chris Roman and many others left BWF when Clark purchased eWo! They restarted the federation and at BWF Danger Zone 2007, Clark handed Legend the eWo Championship after he defeated AJ Donavon. Legend laid down the BWF Championship and they left BWF.
eWo erupted in full swing and at the first eWo pay per view, Hell and Back, Cody Clark teamed with his good friend Erin Jacobs to take on the Brothers Jarvis; Bill Dynamite and Lawrence Jarvis. Jacobs abandoned Clark during the match, which allowed for the double team and Clark was pinned. After the match, Bill Dynamite got revenge and savagely beat him with Rowdy Roddy Pipe, his weapon of choice.
Clark was put out of action for a few months, but when he returned he teamed with his former partner, Kyle Cross as Drink & Destroy. They ran through a bunch of teams until Cross had to leave eWo. This lead to Clark being lost in his wrestling career but he was fully motivated with his career as an executive.
Until his parents needed some financial assistance, and the only way to save their house and their lives was to sign over eWo to them, for collateral. They turned right around and sold the company to Reno Drake and Clark was forced out of the company.
Clark then decided to get back out in the scene and signed a short term contract with World Wide Wrestling. There, he won their W3 World Championship and as the company began losing money, Clark stopped showing up for bookings. The company closed and Clark was left as the last W3 World Champion. He and Anna Eve then moved to Mexico for a short period.
They returned to eWo late in the fall of 2007, on a special stipulation that Clark would come back as a wrestler only. From there, he engaged in a feud with eWo Hall of Famer, Czecher, over the newly created Canadian Championship. As soon as he won the title, Clark brought his case concerning eWo to court. eWo was closed under court order.
Clark battled in Canadian court and eventually won the company back. In March of 2008, Cody Clark re-opened eWo and nearly right off the bat, Lawrence Jarvis returned, telling Clark to give him a staff job. Clark refused and was attacked by Jarvis. The two engaged in a feud that saw Jarvis kidnap Anna Eve, and take her to a warehouse. Clark rescued Eve, and Jarvis wasn't seen for months.
Clark then chased Kelly Godless to Paris, for his attack on The Legend's sister. Clark and Godless weren't seen for nearly two months, until Clark returned to eWo, took over the company from the Legend and swore to bring eWo back to it's golden age. But that turned out to be a hoax, as Clark formed the Dynasty with Legend, Lawrence Jarvis and Dylan Dunn. Four of the most influential men in wrestling became a group, and many wonder if this is where Clark lost his mind...
