John was introduced to the RR&R by Dennis Looney and became a member of Lair No. 1 of the RR&R on March 4, 1995. He donated the Bitter Cup as the trophy for the Rascal o' the Year runner-up. John introduced the RR&R to Lisa Kotchey, the Pittsburgh jeweler, who produces the Jon Z. Landgraf medals. John died on June 5, 2015 at the age of 89.
