Jeff & Margarita Sandvig
Hello Everyone... The wizard informs us that all things are good.
Most recent MRI is essentially unchanged.
The 4th ventricle remains clear and the brain
stem tumor seems stable.
No significant neurological changes.
I'm to return
for MRI and F/U in August unless new or different symptoms arise.
HURRAH....
Everyone's prayers and kind notes are so appreciated.
Now the roller
coaster starts going up. You guys got me through the roller coaster going
down.
Thank you all for your support

Grandson Austin Update-Good news
Thank you all for your prayers and loving concern about our
treasured little one. The MRI from 3/7/05 demonstrates a loss of white
matter on the R frontal lobe. This may represent a developmental
defect, a prenatal focal infarct with no evidence of tumor. Possibly a
neuroepithelial cyst and does not enhance with contrast. It seems to be
just a "blip", an inadvertent finding while looking at his mandibular
sinuses which are quite inflamed and swollen and will be treated with
antibiotics for a month. Another MRI in 6 months to again document this
"birth defect", and make sure it's not changing. His headaches are
likely related to the sinusitis and will be re-evaluated if the
intermittent headaches do not resolve. All the rest of the study was
completely normal and he did well with the anesthesia.
We are all so relieved about this news and feel so blessed to have such
wonderful friends and solid support from everyone. Thank you all again,
from the bottom of my heart. I shall keep you posted about him in the
future.
