OBERON F308
SEMI-SYNTHETIC DIESEL ENGINE OIL
OBERON F308
SEMI-SYNTHETIC DIESEL ENGINE OIL

DESCRIPTION
Oberon F308 is a
semi-synthetic SHPD (Super High-Performance Diesel) engine oil recommended for all four-stroke turbo-charged and normally aspirated diesel engines. Oberon F308, which is manufactured with synthetic and " heart stock " hydrocarbon base oils, provides extended drain interval capacity. Also gives improved fuel economy, superior high temperature engine protection, quick engine start-ups at very low temperature and ensures protection against rust, varnish and sludge formation. The ability of Oberon F308 to reduce oil consumption is due to the very low volatility of the synthetic components. Oberon F308, meets all international and OEM specifications, meets API service classifications CH-4/SJ and is completely compatible with conventional engine oil.

CHARACTERISTICS
DIESEL DETERGENCY
Oberon F308, minimizes the formation of top land and ring deposit tendencies in the extremely high temperature zone of the modern tight top piston circumferal areas. These high temperature effective detergents and dispersants, coupled with the ashless synthetics, inhibit the formation of piston and valve deposits, ring sticking and overcome sludge development under high and low load service conditions.

BORE POLISH DEFEATED
Because top land and ring deposits are minimized by Oberon F308, the polishing action of the carbonized material is eliminated. If left uncontrolled, however, bore polish progressively occurs leading to high oil consumption rates and premature shortened engine life.

ANTI-WEAR CHARACTERISTICS
Oberon F308, ensures long service life to valve train, rings and all moving parts requiring lubrication. A special balance of calcium and low phosphorous containing anti-wear components maximize catalytic afterburner converter life when fitted to gasoline engine vehicles. Phosphate gazing of the catalyst is minimized so that exhaust gas emissiond are controlled well within the specified limits. The anti-wear characteristics are further enhanced by the low anti-friction synthetic components.

GEL FORMATION AVOIDED
High levels of dispersed fuel soot contaminants scavenged into the engine oil may lead to engine seizure due to viscosity thickening effect because vital engine parts may be starved of lubricant. Modern highly turbo-charged diesel engines when operating at sustained high load conditions or low load conditions, tend to scavenge some of the fuel soot laden combustion products past the rings to be dispersed in the engine oil. The accumulative result is firstly thicken and finally to tend to gel the oil which on engine start-up is not pump to the parts requiring lubrication. Under these conditions,
special balance combinations of ashless dispersant in Oberon F308 minimizes this tendency to gel formation, thereby avoiding costly engine failure.
