I have a friend who travels a lot. After every trip, he selects what he calls a Magic Moment--a moment or event that defined the trip as a whole, or acted as prelude to all subsequent adventures on that trip. Welcome to Paul and Phil's Magic Moment.
I spent a very long time quietly debating between QUANTIC and VICAR. The two unseen L's become huge after VICAR, and volatility is not what I'm looking for when taking a 40 point lead. Ultimately, I passed on QUANTIC because even though the accompanying AIRS isn't terrible for it, retaining the V at this position felt like, as a chess player might put it, a loss of tempo. But I have to admit I also couldn't remember for sure if QUANTIC was a noun, and this lack of knowledge could become vital later in the game. Be acutely aware of your strengths and weaknesses as a player, and how they may affect the course of the game. But in the meantime, learn your goddamn hooks!
