Phil Kretschman: g5 VET +15

    Ira 337 ?DEIOT
    Phil 335 ASTU

13b-d kills, but I can't take the spot else f2 VOmITED +12 is out, catching me with the V. VOmITED is Ira's only outplay, however, and it took me longer than I expected to find his threatened out. Sometimes the only way to win is to force the opposition to make a crucial mistake, so perhaps playing TEW (threatening VATUS) has merit? But after TEW, Ira needs to make at least three mistakes to lose; missing the now superior a8 TODIES +27, missing VOmITED, and making a play that fails to block my only outplay. These are not favorable odds. I chose to simply accept my fate.
