I suppose I lucked out in that Ira accepted the gambit with all one-pointers, not just for minimum score but to provide me with better thru letters. He also must've broke up a decent rack of his own by shedding ELNT. But his willingness to shed these letters on a board-opening play may indicate that he's holding the other blank. So it worked, but again, I'm not positive that it's the optimal approach.
