OPEN MOUTH, INSERT FOOT: STREET GEAR'S CEO RESPONDS HARSHLY TO HOFFA (11/10) In a statement released early this morning, Street Gear's CEO Martin Wallington responded to Hoffa's anti-American allegations harshly. "As CEO of Street Gear....we feel that Nigeria is a well workable country. The employees of Nigeria are understandable workers. (Nigeria's) unemployment is much higher that the Americans. "Hoffa, if the workers of America could be workers, then they would be hired. Instead, lots want to be fired. The US should lower wages, then maybe we could have been thinking about the US. So now we've picked a better country. So I would appreciate if you could stop making false statements about our company. You're wrong Hoffa and you know it. So please, try not to make this happen again. It's like our shoe... "Nutin Big".
AFL-CIO, HOFFA DEMANDS COUNTRY-WIDE BOYCOTT OF STREET GEAR's UPCOMING SHOE (11/10) In a rapidly issued press statement, the leader of the AFL-CIO demanded a country-wide boycott of all of Street Gear's upcoming products. "Street Gear has show it's true colors." said Hoffa in a phone interview conducted Friday morning. "The AFL-CIO represents the American worker and their interests, protecting them when necessary. I see Mr. Wallington's statements as nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to insult America, her workers and their families. "I urge the 13 million men and women of the AFL-CIO workers to boycott Street Gear's products until this company corrects the many insults that Mr. Wallington has created."

RETAILERS JOIN BOYCOTT AS STREET GEAR DOES NOTHING TO MAKE AMENDS (11/19) Two major foot gear retailers joined the AFL-CIO's boycott of Street Gear's products this weekend. Foot Locker and Just For Feet, Inc. confirmed their support of the boycott called against Street Gear by James Hoffa Jr. just one week ago. The companies voiced their concerns in a joint statement released this weeked. "The comments Mr. Wallington has made about the American worker are completely inappropriate. As major shoe retailers, we find it impossible to sell a shoe made by a company who cannot see the value of an apology." The news comes at a particularly bad time for Street Gear. With less than four weeks until the company's wares are due to hit the remaining stores that will carry them, these announcements sound more and more like the death song of a new company.
