Right of the people to a clean and healthy environment is enshrined in various articles of the Constitution (Articles 21, 47, 48 & 51) and other relevant environmental legislations and policies of India. However the inadequate and distorted implementation and lack of awareness among the general public on the environment continue to remain hazardous ground reality across India.
