Japanese Words (Honorifics)

If you read manga or watch anime you're likely to come across the Japanese honorifics at some point. I sometimes use the honorifics in my stories when it's appropriate. This is a list of the honorifics I use and what they mean. If you have any comments, corrections, or words you think I should add please email me.

-sama - sama is very polite, used with a boss or someone who ranks higher than you do.

-kun - kun is used for a friend most commonly used refering to boys

-chan - chan is an affectionate ending, often used with children or for girls

-dono - dono is old polite, very slightly less polite than sama (even Japanese get confused about this one.)
