While I enjoy the entire show and all of the cast and characters I do have some favorite ones. My favorite characters are these:

You know it's funny, I didn't really like Zo'or in the beginning. However, when I found out he was Da'an's child I just started liking him for some reason. Before I knew that I didn't like him because he was mean to Da'an and tried to hurt him. But after that revelation, I started to look at him differently because I couldn't not like Da'an's child since I LOVED Da'an so much. You've got to love Leni Parker for making Da'an so totally endearing that when a connection is made to him you just like the other person anyway even if you didn't before. Did that make any sense to you because I'm not sure it did to me either? But hey what the heck.

As you may have gathered from above Da'an is my ABSOLUTE favorite on EFC. I loved the character the first time I saw him and have continued to even when he went a little bad in season 3 and betrayed Liam and the Resistance.

I have another reason for really liking Da'an also, and that is Leni Parker. I read in her bios that she is from New Brunswick originally. I live in Nova Scotia, which is the next province of Canada east of New Brunswick. I loved her anyway before I read that but after I read it I positively ADORED her. It's nice to know that we East Coast girls can score a big credit show like a Roddenberry series. I am VERY proud of Leni for all her determination and making Da'an so wonderful everyone loved him.

I found that I followed Da'an a lot when it came to how to pronounce things and follow the Taelon way. Da'an was always a very animated character. Leni told Da'an's story not only with the script but also with her body language, facial expressions, and even the way she inclined her head or the timing of when she blinked her eyes. Her movements were always subtle and graceful and he voice was soft. Even when Da'an was lying or concealing something her voice was always very calm.

I can also see that Leni must also be a perfectionist. Her movements and on screen presence were so noticeable without being in your face that she HAD to practice that. I read an interview where she said that if even one thing was out of place either in the set or with her costume she didn't feel right and it had to be fixed. Now that might seem extreme but it shows her dedication to making things looks the best they can for us the viewers. Having everything work well on show catches the audience because we know how crazy it can get during shooting sometimes.

My next favorite character is Liam Kincaid, played Robert Leeshock. I fell in love with his sweet green eyes, adorable smile and crisp deep voice right away. I don't believe I have to point out that he is INCREDIBLY good looking, but I will. hehehe But other then the obviously nice exterior it is also very clear he is a very talented actor. He brought the character of Liam alive in a very special way. He was always very careful with dialog to get names pronounced correctly and those expressions he could shot at the camera were great. He always seemed to be having a great time on the set with all his friends and his enthusiasm seem to spread to the other actors too.

And of course of the three people I mentioned Zo'or, played by Anita La Selva, is the only one left. I must admit I there was no love lost between this character and me when we first met, however, now I can't imagine the show without Zo'or. I didn't hate Zo'or but I just didn't like him either, which is good considering he is the bad guy on this show. I found the character a little two dimensional in the first season. It wasn't until we got some background on him that we started to understand why he was the way he was. We learned he was the last Taelon to be born in over a thousand years and that he can't have children. He had a huge responsibility being the youngest Taelon in their society but ends up becoming their Synod leader anyway. Either the older Taelons were setting him up for a fall or they had more faith in him then we did.

Then the revelation that he is Da'an's child hit me like a ton of bricks. I had to rewind and listen to that again. I always wondered WHY Da'an was so forgiving of someone who did the kinds of evils Zo'or did. Then in the Cloister episode when he actually tried to implicate himself in a murder case to protect Zo'or, I was really questioning. I mean how many times has Zo'or tried to kill Da'an, his own PARENT!

But there is something that I noticed. If you watch carefully Zo'or's plans always involved framing Da'an, or hiring someone else to kill him. Zo'or never attacked Da'an himself. Well ok, ONCE, but that was in a dream and he seemed VERY scared afterward. I think somewhere deep inside that evil outside that Zo'or does care about Da'an, but either won't admit it or doesn't realize it himself. Another time was when Zo'or was body hoping into Scott Pierce. He had a clear line of sight on the Embassy and swept by Liam and Da'an to shoot at the far wall and scare everyone. If he wanted Da'an dead he could have shot him right there. No one knew it was him in Scott's body so they never would have traced it back to Zo'or. Then at the end of that episode he was so wound up about how he felt that he SHARED the thrill of murder with Da'an. Did that seem like a child looking for their parents approval or was Zo'or just gloating? Of course there are MANY other situations that would point to the opposite that Zo'or really DOES hate Da'an, but what can I say I'm a romantic I want to see the good not the bad.

As you can see I get very into my favorite shows and characters and actors. I really enjoyed all three of those people and their performances on EFC. I can see them all getting along very well and the cast being like a BIG family. And families are close but they also like to pull pranks too. heheh

I can see Leni, Anita and Robert sitting together waiting for a scene to shot and scheming someones surprise birthday party or just something funny to make the cast and crew smile. Smiling is very important on a TV set as it can get very serious sometimes.
