Rain Splatters softly
Upon stones of unknown graves
An eerie peace penetrates the night
For the cries are silenced by the earth
...sucked out of the womb
Helplessly stored in a jar
Beings deprived of life
Never to see the light of day
Never to taste nature's gifts
Never to feel a mothers love
...A shoebox good enough for a crib
The only shelter from maggots and worms.
Rain splatters softly
Tears of those forced to die
Silent screams aching to be heard
Why? why?
