Scary Movie 2 - Review
Unless you like to waste your freedom
on bird-diarrhea jokes and chronic cracks,
then taking in this sequel to the Wayans
bros'popular Scary Movie will prove pretty
frightening indeed. It's like In Living
Color: The Halloween Edition, and the fragmented,
skit-styled jokes are just more of the same--and
not as good--as the original. And the plot?
That's just an apparition. Mixing parodies of
recent flicks like Dude, Where's My Car? and
Charlie's Angels with spoofs on classic
supernatural cinema like The Exorcist and
Poltergeist makes for an uneven ride. In fact,
you'd have to see as many movies as Roger Ebert,
bone up on current events and pay attention to
TV commercials to just pick up on the would-be jokes.
And that's too much work for this not-so-killer time.
