An inspiring story about a man's struggle with his dark past. Oliver Campion has
a secret that he's keeping from everyone—his best friend, his fiance, her father,
and even himself. Twenty years ago, something indescribably horrible happened to
the sleepy town of Riverdale. No one who remembers it wants to talk, and everyone
who tries to find out is killed.
Oliver Campion is caught on the bridge between the horrifying truth and the safety
of his own ignorance. Like the rest of the citizens, he has no desire to associate
with the town's past (what little he knows of it) or the strange hermit who is rumoured
to have once been a doctor at the local hospital where Oliver began work two years
ago.
It is apparent to everyone but himself that Oliver knows more than he lets on about
the hermit and the swamp, but what could the 26 year old doctor possibly have to
do with the Wagner Housing Development Massacre?
Oliver's ignorant safety net is ripped out from under him as his fiance dares to
seek the swamp's secrets, and he is drawn into the town's horrifying history of bloodshed
that will challenge his sanity and his love for her.
Pre-production Journal
11 January, 2002 – Jamie Klueck
The pushback of "Vengeance" has severly cramped the time I have to complete
the screenplay. Fortunately, fantastic aspects of the story are unfolding, and several
wonderful twists have been added to spice up the original story. With any luck, the
finished project will be not only moving, but also thought provoking; hopefully one
to see again and again.
At this point, I am still in search of cast and crew for the ever expanding story.
Cast may be easy to get, but crew is another matter... especially seeing as I cannot
promise anything except the possibility of recognision, and a share in all the good
times we will have. Money? What's that?
It did occur to me that the most likely crew would be the cast that is not currently
on screen, just as the three of us did with "Vengeance." That way, should
we decide to do a scene that was not planned on a particular day, we would have all
the actors there, already fulfilling crew duty. Everyone loves to act! Well, no.
Some people hate it, but they don't count.
Anyway, the positions to be filled (some have candidates, some don't) are:
CHARACTERS: (*tenative name or character)
Josh Hammond – Sarah's brother
Patrick Bjornsen* – friend of Bill Hammond
Bruce – friends with Sarah and Oliver
Search party and other extras
CREW:
Director of Photography
Photographer – for promotional stills
Boom Operators – just someone who can hold up a long stick
Script Supervisor – someone who can take good notes, and advise of incorrect
lines, etc. to ensure continuity.
Misc. Make-up Crew – we really need you guys for blood effects and skin
tones, trust me, it's needed.
The production locations are all right around Frankfort, MI. So if you think you
would be willing to help out, please send us an email at [email protected].
I'm planning to put this production together with one or two 8-10hr days a week (depending
on how close to crunch time we get). This is set in the non-winter months (basically
summer as it is in Michigan), so we can indeed run out of time if we don't squeeze
the exterior scenes into May, June, and July.

In the Spring of this year, I began sketching out some notes for another movie, before
the production of "Vengeance" was even completed. The basic outlines that
I had scribbled across several pages of a legal pad, translated into the final project
for a Summer Creative Writing class. It is from the 55 pages of "short story"
that I am now drawing an ever tightening screenplay, that I hope will present a solid
offering for the Spring and Summer of 2002.
At this point, I am only about an eighth of the way there. Post-production of "Vengeance"
had bogged me down worse than I had suspected and hope to have a post-production
editor for "Bloodwrath" so that I can have a little spare time.
As interest over "Vengeance" grows, more people are becoming interesting
in this project. I feel confident that it will remain on schedule, but I must express
my concerns over finding an actress for the lead female role who will stick with
this project with as much diehard enthusiasm as the skeleton crew did with "Vengeance."
Major characters include the memory-lapsed Dr. Oliver Campion, slated to be played
by Jody Kluck; his strong-willed fiance, Sarah Hammond; her eccentric father, psychiatrist
and very well-educated, Dr. William Hammond; and several yet unreleased characters:
friends and collegues of the main characters and the sinister Bloodwrath, slated
to carry various other actors including myself.
My vision: This project will be released along with a soundtrack (most likely Reunion)
on both VHS and DVD sometime in mid or late 2003. Any film contracts or film festival
entries are yet to be determined.
