About Kelley
I am currently 29 yrs. old born in Feb. of 1975.  I grew up in a very conservative town in central VA and after getting married and moving away for 4 years we moved back "home".  I grew up in a Christian home and am so thankful to my parents for the wonderful example they set.  I asked Christ into my life at the age of 5. I spent most of my childhood attending a Christian school.  I pretty much hated school, though I loved my friends there.  I think this is one of the reasons why I plan to homeschool my kids.  I have always known that I wanted to have children and stay home with them since as far back as I can remember.  My mother had 5 children and she was home with us so I think this was a great influence on me.  Children are our future afterall, why would I want mine to be raised by anyone other than myself.  Sure this means we have to sacrifice in other areas of life but the alternative would be having to sacrifice our children and that is not an option.
I have always been sort of a free thinker.  I have always been one to question authority.  I thank my Dad for showing us through example that sometimes this is necessary.
I met Charlie at church my senior year in high school (he was a jr.)  He was the only guy I really dated and after about 6 yrs. we got married.
I thank our first dog, Andromeda, a Great Dane, for leading me into the world of "alternative medicine".  We had a pretty crappy experience with a vet and I thought "there has GOT to be something better".  This led me to do some research on the internet for alternatives.  The alternative choices we made with our animals (feeding them raw food, treating their ailments ourselves) naturally led us to looking for alternatives for ourselves.  So by the time I was
pregnant with Xian I knew I wanted a homebirth and I pretty much knew what I would and would not be doing with him.  Things have just natrually evolved from there with our philosophy being what is the most natrual, the closest to God's design, is what we strive for.
I have many interests.  I love to draw (and am pretty good at it).  I love animals and currently we have 1 dogs (Great Dane our Irish Wolfhound recently passed) and 2 snakes (Boa constrictor, and rat snake).  We have had ferrets as well but they have all passed away.  I love music with some of my favorites being The Cure, The Benjamin Gate, Radiohead, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins and too many more to write.
Right now though my passions revolve around
pregnancy, childbirth and parenting.  Perhaps because I am in the thick of it.  But I just feel led to reach out to others, to educate others.  I feel like I have learned so much and have so much faith that I strive for others to feel the same way.  And many times it is hard for me to come to the realization that not everyone is so passionate about these things as I am.  I still try to do my part though. I constantly research, listen to my instincts, and try to better myself.
I was starting to get into belly casting and apprenticing to teach childbirth classes. But it seems God led me in another direction.  It seems people on-line got wind of the
carriers I made (just sewing very few locally) and I started getting orders from across the country and around the world. It is now something that I spend a lot of time on.  I have had to hire 2 seamstresses to keep up with the demand.  It is very stressful at times but I trust God that things will work out and I can get enough help to make things less stressful.  Plus I love being able to help moms carry their babies!!

In everything I do my kids are with me. I think that it is wonderful that I can do things to make some extra money while staying home to raise my children. I can't wait till we get some land so I can start homesteading!!
