by: Sir Wolfr1 November 2007 A lonely woman stood at the gates of the exhibit Her neck was bare and her heart was worn But her friends all stood beside her this day To help her heal and give her luck as she becomes reborn A Dominant had talked with her a few short weeks ago That she now knew was nothing of the kind She thought back to how he wooed her and beguiled her into his trap And wondered how she could have ever been so blind. They had spoken first in that chat room And from there had gone to a private room He told her all the things that her heart so longed to hear And ignoring her friends, she felt her love at last begin to bloom Soon she spoke to him on the telephone And it had been she that had suggested they meet She said she understood that he was married, and did not care All she knew is she had sworn to be discreet. And so they met for the first and last time that rainy day In a small and private hotel room All safety rules and warnings were in an instant forgotten She shuddered to think how close she had come to it becoming her tomb. And when the dawn had come and he was done with her Her safe words having fallen upon deaf and uncareing ears He had laughed at her as he had walked away Uncareing of her pain, or of her blood or tears. She gathered her things and left the room Her body torn and bleeding and sore And limping slowly to the parking lot In a way grateful that he had not done more. E mails were returned stamped with no such account His name and profile vanished like the mists when comes the dawn She cursed herself as such a fool She realized how skillfully into his trap she'd been drawn. For she now realized that he knew all there was to know of her And looking back at their talks knew that she truly knew nothing of him She had been beaten and broken... in both spirit and soul But realized that the nights outcome could have been so much more grim. But now she gathered with her true friends of leather and lace For a outing that they hoped would ease and comfort her soul At an Aquarium, that they knew she loved Where they hoped to heal flesh and spirit a bit more whole. As she walked from tank to tank with her friends in hand They admired many fish that were there for her to find At last she approached one tank, larger than the rest And with teary eyes realized she knew all too well its kind. Where she stood, was the shark display, rooted in terror As the great fish glided effortlessly by And looked at the teeth, the strength but most of all the eyes And it was then she understood the lie. "He is still out there" she said softly to her friends As they gathered, alarmed by her pale and expressionless face "A new screen name, but the same monster behind it And that my sisters, is truly my greatest disgrace" "Like the shark" she whispered, "He is is out there yet He hunts with patience and without remorse, for that is always their way A lonely woman, one who will break the ironclad safety rules, He looks upon them as does the shark it's prey "He told me the rules of safecalls were unneeded That in his arms I would be forever safe And like a fool, I gave him my trust And went to him like a homeless child...a waif." But the rules are set out for a reason Even if those rules I did so foolishly ignore And for that foolishness I paid a bitter and terrifying price I should be grateful that the bill did not come to more" "But you are safe now" said her sisters The Doms only nodded grimly with what they said But she shook her head sorrow and disgrace But grateful for her sisters, who had tended her as she lay upon her bed My loving family... " she said with a smile. "My family of leather and of lace. You are only partly right in what you say, For I agree, I am unlikely to ever again see his face." But I broke the rules, and I paid the price but that was not my only sin As a shark passed by with an icey stare, she said with a soft and haunted voice Another will pay as I did , and all too soon... For even now, at his computer...the hunt has begun again.
