by: yielding (slaved to Stern) **Plus sample poem afterward by Celtic Lord Wolfgang, using these guidelines** Think BDSM poetry is too high-brow, too erudite, just too darn hard to understand? Well, it doesn't have to be, not if you know the tricks of the trade! If you follow a few simple rules, you can skyrocket to the top of the poetic heap in no time at all. Here are some basics: -Before you do anything else, choose a name. Make it sound mysterious or mystical. It will give character to the written word, especially if you have none of your own. Try to include one of these words in your new pen name: mythic, gothic, Lord (men only), nymph(women only), troubadour or Celtic. -Never try to use specific poetic forms. It's far too literary and you will alienate your audience. -Don't use big words for the same reason. Anything over two syllables is usually too much. A few exceptions apply; use them sparingly. -Whether or not punctuation is called for, use it at the end of every line. Alternate between periods and commas; throw in an occasional semicolon. Sometimes using a question mark at the end of the poem creates the illusion that you've given the reader something further to think about. Avoid the dash, its just confusing. -DO NOT EDIT!!! Never question what your heart has written. -Always center your poetry on the page. It will create the impression that your poem is elegant and sophisticated. -Use the passive voice. Readers will think you really know how to turn a sentence. -The longer, the better. Once you've made your point, make it again and again, in case anyone missed it the first time around. If you don't have a point, ramble and call it "stream of consciousness". -If your audience insists on depth, misuse or misspell a few words here and there. The egg-heads will be able to discuss the ambiguous meanings of there and their. -If anyone criticizes, play the poetic license defense card. -If someone asks you a question you don't understand, affect one of the following: angst, superiority, pensive deliberation or quiet patronization. In this way, you will encourage people to believe that your creative genius far exceeds anyone's ability to conceptualize your art. Popular phrases: These phrases can be incorporated into any BDSM poem without diminishing its overall quality. Play me like a _______ (insert favorite stringed instrument. Avoid viola or bass.) Glistening mound Deep in my/your throat Flowering lips We become one Wet cleft Rock-hard shaft or Rock-hard nipples Taut nipples Winding curves of your body Perfect globes Time stands still Pleasure you/me My/your seed Popular ideas and metaphors: Being carried away by the moment Pleasure mingling with pain Rivers, oceans, flowing waters compared to vaginal secretions. Fountains or explosions compared to male ejaculation. Males compared to gods, kings, rulers benevolent for the most part, but willing to impart discipline, even thought it hurts them deeply to have to do so. Females who ruminate on which body part is best used to pleasure the gods, kings and rulers. Anything to do with unicorns, forests or gardens (primarily gardens of delight. Avoid veggie gardens.) Anything to do with capturing or being captured. Forced sex that becomes too overwhelmingly beautiful and intense for the woman to resist. Taste of man/womans secretions compared to food (usually non-acidic fruit; avoid references to French toast) Almost anything compared to life itself. A Few Words About Words: Words choice is relatively unimportant to the BDSM poet. There are only a few good BDSM poetry words anyway, so what does it matter how often they are used in a single stanza? Don't worry about their meanings. If you don't know what a word means, assume no one else will either, and if it sounds good, use it. It can only make you look better. There are however, some words that should never be used in BDSM poetry. For example: sticky ..... acrid ..... flaccid ..... bitter ..... gaping ..... cornhole ..... gurgle ..... sneeze ..... snatch ..... elbow ..... cheesy ..... viscous ..... wretch ..... spit ..... sag ..... slimy ..... greasy ..... diminutive ..... gash As you can see, any one of these words will render your poem un-beautiful, or in the active voice, ugly. The word cock is acceptable in any BDSM poem, as long as it is being worshipped, driven deep into something, lauded for its size and strength or being described with awe and reverence. Self-admiration is no exception. A man who recognizes his penis as being the source of all masculine power and it's explosive release as a sought-after life-giving elixir is obviously a man who all the gals want to get to know. Pussy or any of its counterparts, are generally not acceptable in BDSM poetry. Vaginas must be referred to as flowers; labial lips as petals which awaken and open at the very thought of the above mentioned cock. (Cunt can be used in lesbian poetry, because it is affirming and self-empowering.) Try it Yourself! Use the list below to compose your own BDSM poem. Don't be surprised if it turns out to be the best one ever written! (Words like the, and, of, for etc. are freebies. Use them frequently and without regard to need or content.) aroma ... always ... afterglow ... amber(glow) ... air ... await ... anticipate ... alive ... around ... all ... alone ... along ... about ... amid ... burn ... breast ... breathe ... breath(less) ... bite ... beat(in unison) ... beauty ... beautiful ... bond ... blush ... bathe ... belong ... beyond ... between ... cleft ... crave ... control ... curve ... conquer ... calm ... create ... cry ... care ... cream(y) ... cling ... caress ... chance ... cheek ... delight(ful) ... delve ... desperate ... deep(en) ... delta ... desire ... discovery ... dream ... depth ... danger ... dwell ... display ... distance ... dance ... every ... each ... envelop ... explode ... ecstasy ... explore ... eternal ... eager(ly) ... envy ... enslave ... essence ... erect ... erotic ... enter ... fire ... fall ... finger(s) ... flower ... forever ... flesh ... flame ... feel(ing) ... flow(ing) ... fresh ... fine ... fly ... flat ... fondle ... glow ... grip ... graceful ... groan ... gaze ... glorious ... god(s) ... heart ... heartbeat ... heat ... hand(s) ... hunger(gry) ... hard ... hurt ... heave(ing) ... huge ... here ... hear ... hope ... heaven ... happiness ... ice ... imagine ... inch ... instant ... intoxicate ... intertwine ... intense ... join ... journey ... joy ... know ... kind ... kiss ... knot ... keep ... keen ... king(ly) ... lip ... long ... longing(ly) ... love ... lost(in) ... life ... limb(s) ... mound ... mingle ... mount ... mine ... mind ... mighty ... magnificent ... muffle(d) ... mad ... moment ... movement ... most ... moist ... mercy ... nipple ... nestle ... need ... never ... not ... none ... near ... overcome ... open ... overtake ... only ... obedience ... object ... passion ... pound ... power(ful) ... probe ... pleasure ... play ... perfume ... pale ... place ... proud ... pliant ... prod ... press ... practiced ... quiet ... quiver ... quest ... quench ... quake ... question ... rise ... river ... ride ... rule ... release ... rugged ... round(ed) ... space ... strong ... slow ... shaft ... smile ... sense ... soul ... surrender ... stroke ... seize ... stiff ... spirit ... spring ... sword ... show ... satin ... silk(en)(y) ... sensuous ... shame ... sharp ... soft ... tongue ... touch ... time(less) ... tender ... taste ... tender ... tremble ... tears ... tease ... thirst ... truth ... throat ... travel ... there ... tense ... tumble ... turn ... transport ... tranquil tower(ing) ... timid ... under ... universe ... unison ... unite ... union ... unclad ... undying ... vast ... vibrate ... vibrant ... valley ... vow ... void ... virginal ... waters ... want ... whimper ... warm(th) ... worship ... wait ... where ... young ... yearn ... yield ... yes ... youth ... year(s) ... zeal ...zone by Celtic Lord Wolfgang A flowing faucet, your wet cleft, A river to the see-saw rides, Upon my noble cock of plenty; Time stands still. At first disgust down to your deepest depths, Was felt by you, our oneness sore denied. My face sharp slaps resounded with; And like a set of bongos was I being played. I, your God, your king, Whose rock-hard cock, your twelve-inch ruler, Shed, with craven craving, one lone tear, In throbbing tremble, (Or was it trembling throb) at your denial? "Wench, " I smiled. "Dost flower spurn the sun, Whose burning flame makes rosebush blush, And daffodil erupt in amber glow? Dost blossom close before the honeybee's persistent probe? Well, dost it? Answer me!" By hungry hands, your slender wrists were seized, Fast-pinioned in restraints from Mr. S, Your ankles, not so slender, pinioned too, Till starfish-spread, (Except that starfishes more limbs possess than four, but who doth count?) Two perfect globes upended, Rosebud-orifice revealed, With likely rock-hard nipples, (Though I could not tell, for you were bottom-up), Writhed and whimpered you, Most yearning for release. Regret imbued my regal mien, The discipline, called once more to impose, The flogger, craft by Heartwood, took I up. And lightning struck those brazen buttocks, Much as summer storms assault Paramus, Verdant setting of thy Lord's ancestral home, In basement of his mother's manse ensconced Descended on those teasing cheeks a fire of flame. At least the strokes that wandered not away, To tickle kidneys or the bedclothes fiercely to upbraid. Your pain-cries changed their tune, From "Ow!" to "Oooh!" and further, "Unnhhhh!" and "Ahhhhhh!" did loud resound. "Oh, my Lord," your pliant passion urged, "Impale me now upon thy manly shaft!" "Stroke deep the silky, satin, molten core, That waits, an aching void surrendered to your: Terrible swift sword!" And so, deep thrusting I, Avaunt thy glist'ning mound, past flowery lips, Your Lord's fast-pulsing pleasure unit plunged. Plumbing depths of pleasure ne'er approached, Volcanic fount exploded, lava flowed, And, just in time, too; For Leno was almost on.
