Immigration
It is not yet clear what prompted this branch of the Enright Family to Immigrate to Australia, but it began in 1888 and by the end of 1890, there was only one child of Michael and Johannah Enright still living in Ireland, the rest were either deceased or had immigrated to Australia along with their mother Johannah. Another of their children has not yet been traced in Ireland or Australia.
In early 1888, Margaret Curran nee Enright and her husband Patt made the decision to leave Ireland with Margaret's brother John. They were bound for Australia. Margaret and Patt had four children at this time whom they bought with them.
They left London on the 30th May 1888 on board the TAROBA and arrived in Brisbane on the 17th August 1888.
Patt survived only 3 months in Australia, he died in November in Toowoomba of dysentery.
In November 1888 in Knockatoumpane, Jeremia Enright died, he was a batchelor who lived with his mother Johannah. It was some time after this that the decision was made for Johannah and her son Michael to also Immigrate.
They left London on the 12th November 1890 on board the TARA and arrived in Brisbane on the 3rd January 1891.

All came as Remittance Passengers, which means someone in Australia paid their passage. In the case of Johannah and Michael, it was probably John or Margaret who were already in Australia. John began to work for the Railway in January 1889, so it is possible he was bought out to Australia by this department. Patt Curran died in Toowoomba after only 3 months in Australia, so possibly someone from this area sponsored him and his family. His death was Certified by a W Brosnan of Ruthven Street, Toowoomba. In 1889, William Brosnan was the Publican of the School of Arts Hotel in Ruthven Street, Toowoomba. It is not clear if Patt was to work at the Hotel (and it was William who sponsored him and his family) or if the Curran  Family were only living at the Hotel at the time of Patt's death.
