As the first person to join Avalanche after its founding by Wallace, Lockheart is considered second in command and will take over in the absence of the group's leader. She was originally a field medic, going out into the middle of battle to heal injured soldiers, but joined Avalanche after a paticularly grousome battle in which she saw the wounded bodies of opposing soldiers who she was forbidden to help. It was then that Lockheart realized the utter cruelty of the war and swore to stop it. Normally, she has a calm, happy demeanor, but when faced with battle situations, Lockheart becomes cold and merciless towards the enemy. She says this behavior is because "sometimes lives have to be sacrificed for the greater good" but sometimes wonders how much she sounds like the oppressive army she is trying to stop.
