| EWE General Manager Ian Loveless was in the ring and welcomed everyone to the show. He then made a very special announcement regarding tonight's main event. He said that in tonight's main event GBH would defend the Heavyweight championship against Danny Dreamer in a forty minute Iron Man match. Loveless then brought the champion out to conduct and interview with him. GBH came out and was asked how he felt about beating Steve Farrell at Breaking Point. The Heavyweight champion described beating Farrell as 'a piece of piss' as Loveless then agreed and moved on to his next question. Before GBH could say anything else Steve Farrell who wondered towards the ring area interrupted him. Farrell dressed in suit mentioned that it was because of him that GBH was able to defeat Tyrant back on Meltdown 1 for the title. The Nature Boy admitted to being a bad loser but said that by being a bad loser he was going to give the crowd what they wanted to see. He removed his suit jacket and then pounced on GBH delivering a number of punches to the face. GBH backed off towards the outside in an effort to get away but Farrell was they're too repeatedly punching him. Ian Loveless had seen enough and ordered security to pull Farrell off the champion. Ed of Security pulled Farrell from GBH who then ran away to the backstage area. A furious Ian Loveless then ordered that Steve Farrell was banned from the arena for the night so that he could not do anything in the main event. Ahead of Sparxx's UK Championship defence against Richard Carey, Alexander A Loveless made his way out. A Loveless said that Carey made a mistake at Breaking point by defeating him and he would pay the price. Loveless then bragged that Ozzy Mayhem was still in hospital due to the attack conducted by Sparxx on Meltdown 13. Without further a due Loveless brought the UK Champion Sparxx out for the match. Richard Carey Vs. Sparxx w/Alexander A Loveless Sparxx shoved Carey who then swung a clothesline at the UK champion but Sparxx ducked and applied a headlock to the challenger. Carey then pushed Sparxx away and came at him with a wheelbarrow bulldog attempt but Sparxx blocked it and sent Carey crashing down from a powerful clothesline. Just like there last meeting this match was all about the power of Sparxx against the quickness of Richard Carey. Early on in the match Carey came close to a three count after connecting with a nicely timed code red. The match moved at a quick pace and both men had intervals of domination but just couldn't keep the other down. Carey attempted to cross body on Sparxx but was caught and then downed with a sit out slam. Sparxx really started to give his all trying to keep Carey down as revenge after what happened at Breaking Point between Carey and Alexander A Loveless. The quickness of Carey came in to play though as he caught the UK champion with a flying head scissors and then connected with a reverse hurricarana. After some more battling Carey had Sparxx just where he wanted him and delivered his trademark RKO. Instead of making the cover though Carey climbed the ladder and done a Swanton bomb but Sparxx had sat up and avoided the effects of the move. Sparxx lifted the young rookie up and tombstoned him, he made the pin but stood up on the two count as Ozzy Mayhem made his way in to the ring. The returning Ozzy delivered a perfect MKO to his rival and helped his Dark Carnival teammate up. The two left, as the referee had no choice but to throw the match out. Winner - No Contest Backstage Ian Loveless give Ed of Security a lecture about the way he was dressed and told him to sort himself out before storming away. Crowcain then approached the security guard and tried to sell him a plastic truncheon and some body armour. Ed was excited and said that he didn't have the twenty-pound asking price but he did have a fifty-pound note. Crowcain said since he liked Ed he would accept fifty pounds instead of twenty. The thick security guard paid the money and ran off to find his boss Ian Loveless to show him his 'bargain'. He found the GM and showed him, Loveless went off it and called Ed a Muppet (Gonzo was one of the Muppets so this is accurate). When Ian Loveless found out how much the plastic toys cost he got even angrier and then said that next week Ed would face Crowcain in a singles match and he had better prove himself. Mikey Wreckage Vs. Costa Costa making his return to EWE looked the better man in the opening sequence as he locked Wreckage in a wristlock. However Wreckage soon reversed and the two got underway in some chain wrestling, which ended when Costa took Wreckage down and started kicking his inner leg. This match showed the technical side of both guys, Wreckage seemed to still be a bit down after losing the hardcore title at Breaking Point. Costa lifted Wreckage up and delivered a big back breaker and then locked on a tight arm lock. Threw out the match though Wreckage tried to send Costa down with the STO but Costa kept blocking it. The ex ECW champion kept going for the arm of Wreckage and at one point nearly broke his opponents arm as he repeatedly slammed it off the steel ladders. Wreckage did keep fighting back and eventually hit the STO but somehow Costa found the strength to get his shoulder up just before the three count. Moments later Wreckage attempted to hit the STO again but Costa blocked it and from a head scissor position rolled Wreckage up and pinned him for the three. Winner - Costa (pinfall) Backstage Danny Dreamer prepared for the forty-minute iron man match when Costa walked in on him. The two friends then embraced and had a little chat about hold times, as they had not seen each other for a little while. Costa said that Dreamer would become the EWE Champion and then asked if he could have the first title shot to which Dreamer said yes. As Dreamer left for the match Costa called him back and put his arm around him and said 'if you need any help' as Dreamer just nodded his head. MAIN EVENT - 40-Minute Iron Man Match for EWE Heavyweight Championship GBH Vs. Danny Dreamer This was an encounter many had been waiting to see for some time and it did not disappoint. Before the match GBH placed a welsh flag over the Championship belt and said that if Dreamer wanted the belt so bad he would have to walk over Wales. Dreamer started thinking for a moment and walked over the flag going face to face with the champion. The match started slowly with both men pacing around the ring area. They both extended their hands and tried to pull one another over but kept breaking off and backing away. After a few minutes they tied up but Dreamer instantly took the champion down by his arms sending him flying. They tied up again and exchanged some holds including a waist lock and a headlock. They started trying to hurt one another's arms known that it would eliminate a number of there trademark manoeuvres. Once the match got going it was pretty even as the action went back and fourth, Dreamer came close to an early pinfall after connecting with a high drop kick. However the champion responded with a big lariat before the pair went back at each other's arms. Dreamer climbed the ladder but GBH followed him up and then suplexed him from the ladders down to the ground. Unfortunately for GBH though, Dreamer despite just feeling the effects of a superplex rolled on to GBH and picked up a pinfall. It was 1-0 to Dreamer, and GBH was furious so he picked Dreamer up and was about to do a German suplex but Dreamer rolled threw the champions legs and rolled him up for another three count. So Dreamer now had a 2-0 advantage but that soon increased to 3-0 when a desperate GBH nailed the challenger with a chair only for the referee to disqualify him. But the cheeky champion took advantage and pinned Dreamer who was out cold, not once but twice. On his third attempt though Dreamer kicked out, it was 3-2 and GBH was still trying hard to get back level. Dreamer was also pulling all the stops out and delivered a very evil looking pulling piledriver but it was not enough to get a pinfall. GBH hit back with a modified kudu driver but this time Dreamer kicked and both men were showing signs of being tired as the halfway point crept up on them. The action went on and both men give there all but they were both starting to get tired as the clock ticked away. GBH came close to getting level as he caught Dreamer as he jumped from the ladder and hit a northern lights suplex. In a twist of events Dan Dreamer locked GBH in his own submission hold the GBache, Dreamer had it locked on tight and the champion started to fade. Suddenly though Costa came in the ring and knocked the referee over from behind. He then swung a chair across the head of his former friend Dan Dreamer. GBH then was able to down Dreamer with an emerald fusion as Costa being booed by the crowd left. The referee was up and GBH covered Dreamer getting a three count, as the score was now level at 3 all after 26 minutes. GBH then tried to make Dreamer submit by locking on the figure four blatantly taunting Steve Farrell known he had been removed from the Byfleet arena. Dreamer turned the move over with ten minutes left of the match. The match escalated in to a brawl with both tired guys sluggishly hitting each other in the head. The time started to run out and the champion was desperate to get a win but Dreamer was trying so hard to get another pinfall and he nearly did after a German suplex. GBH locked on the Gbache with two minutes left but Dreamer fought out of it but GBH locked it in again. Again Dreamer got out of it and attempted to hit the storm cradle piledriver but the champion countered it and for a third time within seconds locked on the GBache. The seconds started to run out and on twenty seconds Dreamer again battled out of the hold and attempted a kobashy but GBH was smart enough to reverse it as he once more locked on the GBache. This time though in the dying seconds of the match Dreamer just couldn't battle on any longer and tapped out making it 4-3 to GBH who was once again still the EWE Heavyweight Champion. Winner - GBH (4-3) |
