TEST
1: ROZUMIENIE MOWY
Tekst:
Most university professors have been known to be absent-minded on occasion, but few can match the University of New Jersey’s Wilfred Hoopple. Professor Hoopple lives in a big, rambling old house with his wife and only daughter, a girl of about 15. A modern family, they very carefully divide the household chores, assigning a task to a different member of the family each night. A month or so ago, it was a professor’s turn to clear the dirty dinner dishes from the dining room table. His wife and daughter were to wash and dry the dishes that night, so they were waiting in the kitchen. Ten minutes passed by, then twenty, and the professor failed to come in. Finally, wife and daughter went looking for him. The professor was gone and so were the dirty dishes. A search of the house soon provided the answer. All that day the professor had been preparing a speech for an important meeting the next afternoon. He had become so wrapped up in his thoughts that he had carried the dishes into his study, piled them neatly on his desk, then gone for a walk.
