Jacob and I rented a trailer from a friend of mine in DeLand for 2 or 3 months right after getting married, that way I could get used to being away from my family (it was 7 miles from my parents house). After that we moved out here to Pinedale, Wyoming. Jacob had bought a trailer a few months before we got married, so we moved into that. Mostly we just stayed at his parents house right there in town because they were always gone, and the plants needed to be watered!

I believe we purchased our lot back in May 2004, then we got a construction loan mid-July and got to start building. Basically we've done everything ourselves. Jacob's dad helped
a lot with the electical... but other then that me and Jacob did everything (he did most of it). His family helped lift walls and set trusses. We FINALLY got to move in November 21st.

We had gone to the rabbit show in Utah November 20th and tried to drive home that night. The roads got ice on them and they closed the main highway for awhile. So they finally opened them again a couple hours later. We were 2 hours out from getting home when we couldn't drive anymore. So we pulled over to sleep knowing that we didn't have any heat in the truck (and that it was getting to -7 degrees that night). I've never been so cold in my life. Every peice of clothing from our travel bag was being worn along with Walmart bags. Who could sleep? My alarm clock ran out of battery at 9pm, so we don't know when we stopped or exactly when we started, but we got to a gas station for coffee at almost 6am (after driving an hour+). The 4 hour drive took us between 6 and 7 because we had to go so slow. So anyways, we get back to the house just before the sun peaks out... to find that the trailer had run out of propane (water lines frozen). That's it! We pulled the mattress out of the trailer took it into the house (drywall not all hung yet) and slept all day. It was so nice. We've been in the house ever since.

I'm working on new "About Us" page for those friends back home that aren't interested in the critters
Again... it is a work in progress.
