1.1 The Present tenses.

Er zijn twee tegenwoordige tijden in het Engels:

a) present Simple tense

b) present Continuous tense (-ing vorm)

Voorbeelden, gebruik en vorm van beide tegenwoordige tijden:

	Present Simple	Present Continuous
Voorbeelden	I usually repair computers She writes books for a living. Water boils at 100 C.	I am writing a letter. He is reading a boek. They are always complaining.
Vorm (gezegde)	Stam van het werkwoord; maar bij he/she/it: stam + (e)s	to be* + (stam+ing)
Gebruik bij	Handeling die normal gesproken, regelmatig plaats vindt. (gewoontes/ feiten/processen) Bij always, usually, generally, frequently, etc.	Handeling die NU plaats vindt. En bij "irritatie" (let dan ook om "manier van zeggen")

2. Download oh4win.zip (www.geocities.com/englishcourseweb/downloads.htm), extract it and usr the program to produce your own personal wordlist from lessons 1,2 and 3?

3. Revise (herhaal) Past tense (lesson 2) , present perfect (lesson 3) and present tenses (lesson 4)

4. Find information about all these tenses on the CD Rom. Study the examples.

5. Find the mission statement of Albeda College and translate it into English. Advice: use notebook Nederlandse Onderwijstemen in het Engels.

6. Write about 100-150 words about "the Dutch educational system"!
