Step 3: Preparing an Informal Report
| As a group, you will prepare an informal report for
the Board (class and teacher) on the charity of your choice, and why you
would like to help that charity. You will need to do more in-depth
research on your charity for this activity. You can refer to the
charity links provided (Under Step 1: Choosing a Charity),
to the links provided on writing reports, and to the sections in your textbook
on report writing. Some questions to consider are: |
What is the history of this charity?
What is the aim of this charity?
How is this charity involved in the local area?
Has the charity ever been involved with this school
before?
Why would you like to help this charity?
What would the charity do with the money the Board
raises?
| Have each group member consider some of these questions,
and make notes from their research to help answer them. Meet as a
group to discuss the findings of your research, and to decide what information
to include in your report. Once you plan your report, each group
member will be responsible for writing a section of the report. Review
the draft report as a group, edit it and polish it, and submit a copy to
the teacher. |
