About the band

e.w.f (which is pronounced ooowwwwffff) or 'er with fellas as they are also known took there name from a liitle known spice from italy, favoured, even flavoured by a small group of inspired chefs in 246ad who believed their sauces could enrich the mind to such a degree that once a person had eaten they would only talk in poem or song for the next 14 days.

mr o started playing music with the mersey beat classic band elastic band playing rubbery music around liverpool during the early 80's eventually meeting up with jani x, a mancunian with attitude, together the formed a busking duo moving to and fro until forming the band bellybutton, a mix match of street buskers and big issue sellers from Derry to perform a perculiar bunch of tunes soon change was afoot and bellybutton 2 formed with a heavy ska influence. Soon the pace slowed to the blues and with the introduction of tom watkiss (the prison guitar blues man) engine w fader was hatched from the juices in 1997. a few years later with a change of focus and an organiuc award under their belt tom disapeared like a puff of smoke and in came the beatman mr p, a punk legend form belfast with a fine pedigree ..........the tempo raised and once again the dancing feet were starting to move. bring in the big organ shouted the people and so it did come to pass thet in december 2001 mr i stepped into the ring with cool organ sounds and a musical ability equalled by only the lucky few....ewf were ready ....................................

jani x is also a poet who performed with the derry based bunch of chances, has had poetry published in various books most recently the soon to be out 'lonely poets guide to Belfast.......in 2000 jani won best performance at the Belfast literary festival...jani x has also read poetry and sung solo at the woodstock music festival(2000) in New York state...........................................................................................

mr p has a class list of previous bands including the stillborns, stalag 17, skum, the three dagress, plastic jesus, the jimmy segus experience, mr jolly's mountain boys, fual, spiny norman quartet, malice in wonderwhyland, and peacock strangesqiud.............................................present projects include tu da kan, amadan, drumungous, altai, aquamarina and the beaconares..............................................
