Knight's Quest
You step inside the room.  You immediately notice that there is a crossbow on a stand, with an arrow aimed straight at your heart.

"Too bad I tripped the wire," you think.

However, all that happens is that a safety rod clinks into the firing mechanism.

Then your foot touches the first floor stone inside the threshhold.  Under the weight of your foot, the stone depresses by an inch.

"Uh oh," you think.

Uh oh is right.  The stone, not the tripwire, is what triggers the crossbow.

However, since you tripped the tripwire, the safety rod is in place, and the arrow is not fired.

"It's a reverse booby-trap," you murmur.  "Any normal person would plainly see the tripwire and naturally step over it onto the floor stone.  And that would trigger the crossbow.  Only the perpetrator of the trap would know the secret of how to avoid it."

You congratulate yourself for cleverly figuring this out.

You proceed to the next test.
