Knight's Quest 
Lava almost completely surrounds you.  And the canoe is starting to smolder just above the water line.  On the plus side, the boiled lobster the young woman was cooking is done, and tastes great.  Freshwater lobster -- yum! 

You decide to stay on the lake. 

You head north, toward the forested hills which appear to be the only place on the plateau unaffected by the volcano.
