Taken to many car shows throughout the greater Capital district of New York State, many people stop by and admire the cute l'il import from Britain. One of only three known registered '49 Prefects in the country, the most asked question is, "where do you get parts for this car?' |

Often, when shown next to other high powered sleds and hot rods, the 1172 cc engine seems out of place. average cuising speed is about 45 MPH and top end is about 65 MPH almost 30 horse power pushing the rear 16 inch wheels stopped by mechanical brakes. |

One of the major parts of my restoration was the reuphostering of the front and rear seats that i have done myself in the summer of 2004. |

With a six volt positve ground ignition system, a 8.4 gallon fuel tank, thermo-syphon cooling system, an over all length of 156 inches, width of 57 inches, and a height of 63 1/2 inches, the stlyish lines of the car fit well with the times of yesteryear and gave it the popular nickname of "upright". |

Whether in the country, in front of a large granite building or in front of a brownstone as above, the little upright seems as though it never left it's rightfull place on the street. |
