Casting Special Part I

The Casting Special introduced the location of Hawaii and how the 40 semi-finalists would be chosen. They then went on to choose the 40 finalists which you can see here.

Casting Special Part II

The second part of the casting special introduced the 20 players of Endurance Hawaii, as J.D. Roth personally invited the players to join the game. You can see the players here

The Arrival

The 20 official contestants of Endurance Hawaii started the game off with an automatic twist. Choose one boy and girl to sit out of the first elimination and automatically stay in the game. For the boys, they choose Lindi, and the girls choose Reece. The remaining girls then competed to see who the first 3 girls to drop from a pole hanging over water would be going home. After seven minutes, three girls; Eleanor, Taylor, and Vanetta, had finally dropped and would be going home.

First Elimination

The guys now battle it out to see which three would fall from the poles first. The three guys that fell first would be going home. After only a short time, Marshall, Tom, and Brandon fell. J.D. then informed the remaining 14 players that they would be picking their partners! The game started with a giant slingshot shooting numbered balls across a lake, and the players to get the lowest numbered balls would get a better chance to pick their partner. The first 8 balls were caught by Demian, Lindi, Reece, Antonio, Chris, Bryanah, Willa, and Nicole. Who will get to choose their partner?

Pick Your Partner

The 14 contestants battled it out to be able to pick their partner. A giant slingshot would shoot 14 numbered balls across a lake for the players to catch. The first 8 were caught in the last episode, First Elimination. The next 6 would be caught in this order: Bjorn, Alex, Sarah, Rachel, Monroe, and Kareem. The players then lined up in number order and started from 14 working down. Each player could pick a color or a partner if they wanted. Kareem choose blue, Monroe yellow, Rachel red, Sarah purple, and Alex green. Bjorn then choose Alex, making the first team, Green. J.D. then introduced a twist. The remaining 8 could bump a player out of a spot to get the partner they wanted! Nicole chooses orange Willa blue, and Bryanah grey. Chris then chooses grey, making the second team. Antonio then bumped Kareem off of blue to make the third team, Blue. Kareem then went to orange, making the fourth team. Reece decided to pick Sarah, and made the fifth team, Purple. Lindi then did the unthinkable, at the time, and bumped Bryanah to make the sixth team, Grey. Bryanah was then bumped to the remaining person, Monroe, and they made up the Yellow team. Demian, being the number 1, was able to pick his partner and choose Nicole, making Orange Kareem was bumped once again to his final teammate, Rachel, and they made the Red team. The teams then got their pyramid pieces. With everyone getting to know their teams and size up the competition, what will happen when 6 new players join the game?

Headstrong

The first six eliminated are brought back to compete for the chance to get back on Endurance! The winner of the game would pick their partner and make up the brown team. The game went like this: Place a tiki doll between your head and a bamboo log above you. The last one standing by balancing their tiki doll wins and gets the chance to pick their partner. Eleanor, Taylor, Brandon, and Vanetta all fall leaving it to Marshall and Tom. After about 30 minutes, Marshall falls and Tom wins! Tom chooses Vanetta and they make up the brown team.

Ring of Fire

The first Endurance Mission is today and the battle for the strength piece and the Samadhi is on! The teams must hold a bar inside a ring, if they move the bar too much and it hits any part of the ring, the ring will ignite and they will be out of the game. Brown, yellow, orange, and red all ignite their rings, Antonio tries to get the other teams to hit their rings and gray does. J.D then announces a twist where the players can use only one arm to hold the poll. Blue slips and it's left to purple and green. After almost 30 minutes, Alex can't hold it and green hits, leaving purple to win! Later, Willa and Antonio get in a fight and purple wonders if they should give the Samadhi to them because they are a weak team, or to a stronger team like green. At the meeting, they say it would be better to give it to a stronger team, but instead surprise the group and give it to yellow who will have a 5 ft. disadvantage in the next temple mission.

Bagging on You

The first temple mission is today and the battle to stay has started! The game is simple; each team will toss 2 beanbags connected by a string to a platform out on the water. If their beanbags land on the platform they can eliminate any team whose beanbags did not land on platforms. Even with Yellow's 5 foot disadvantage, they are the first team to make it and eliminate orange. They again make it and eliminate gray. The third time blue and brown make theirs and eliminate green and purple. Red then makes one and eliminates blue, but are out in the next round when yellow makes their 3rd toss and eliminates them. Its down to the last two teams and yellow makes their 4th and final toss, even having the Samadhi, and eliminates brown, winning the challenge! They later decide to send blue and orange to temple. At temple blue chooses fire and orange water. blue again chooses fire and orange again chooses water, making them safe. Unfortunately, blue is the first team eliminated.

Squaring Off

In a surprise twist, J.D. announces another Temple Mission will be held today. The game goes like this: Each team has a row of squares and starts with 2 triangles. They can cover any square for any team with either one or both of their triangles. They then choose the next team to go, but can not choose the team that chose them. Orange started and the order went between them, gray, red, and purple until Reece decided to choose yellow. It then went between yellow, green, and brown until Vanetta choose orange. Slowly, yellow, green, brown, red, and purple were eliminated. Both gray and orange had only 1 triangle left and it was up to gray to decide who went. They eliminated themselves, and orange won, seeking revenge by sending green and yellow to temple. yellow outwitted green and they were the second team to be eliminated.

Out on a Limb

The power is really up for grabs as the winner of today's endurance mission gets to decide on two super teams for the next temple mission. Yellow received green's piece and warned Demian of Nicole. The game was simple. One partner would sit on a seesaw type machine over the water while the other would pull on a rope connected to the seesaw to hold their partner up. The last team standing wins. Red, brown, orange, and gray all dropped their ropes leaving purple and yellow. Finally after almost 30 minutes, Reece lets go saying, "Monroe you're a beast!" and yellow wins another mission! They later decide to have purple and gray on their super team with red, brown, and orange making up the other team.

  Recap Episode

Bamboo Jungle

Three teams competed in today's super team mission. The mission was a huge obstacle course where each super team, connected by rope, would have to navigate through. The first super team through would win the mission. Although some players had trouble, Monroe and Vanetta, they told their teams to "keep going". In the end, the super team yellow, purple, and gray won the mission and chose to send brown and red. After a stress filled temple, red was sent home and brown returned.

Pipeline

In a surprise twist, the teams found out that they would compete for a Samadhi that they actually wanted! The mission would be easy if the teams had teamwork. Each person would have a poll with a curved end to guide a ball across a giant pipeline into a tower. The first team to get three balls into their tower would win. Off to an early start, gray took over the game and won hands down. They then had to choose if they would: A. Switch Partners, or B. Steal another teams pieces. They choose to B., and took yellow's two pieces, giving themselves a tie for the lead with purple.

I'm Pulling For You

Another twist hit the teams today as J.D. announced that they would again compete in another Endurance Mission this time for the power to give another team the Samadhi. The mission was a test of strength, teamwork, and overcoming the fear of height. Each team would navigate themselves on pulleys 25 feet in the air to a ledge where they would need to place 12 pyramid pieces. Orange was off to a good start, when two of their pieces fell, giving gray the lead with purple close behind. Gray once again took the lead, winning their second mission in a row. They later decided to give yellow the Samadhi, taking away their chance to win the next Temple Mission.

Balance Ball

In a twist of fate, Vanetta is out of the game when she fell and badly scraped her knee. Being the remaining member of the brown team, Tom decided to stay in the game for Vanetta. The temple mission looked grim for both Tom and the yellow team, who had to sit out, as the teams would have to balance a ball on a wooden plank through an obstacle course to a chute. Once a team had 3 balls in the chute, they would win. gray and purple quickly took the lead, and at the very end, gray dropped their ball and purple got their 3rd ball in just in time to win. They stuck with the alliance and sent brown and yellow to temple, despite Tom's attempt at a deal. At the temple, yellow once again burned out the competition, and brown was sent home.

Halfway Mark

The teams meet to see who will get brown's perseverance piece, and they give it to yellow. J.D. then announces that the endurance mission today will be crucial because the Samadhi is once again up for grabs! The mission today would be for the Luck piece and the game would not be physical, but mental! Each team must complete a color coded puzzle where all colors must match up, the first team to do so would win. Orange team started out to a quick lead but in the end one piece wouldn't fit. The purple team then thought they had it, but two pieces didn't fit but in a surprising move, the yellow team came from behind and figured out the puzzling puzzle, winning the challenge! The yellow team had now gone from 0 pieces to 2 and having the power of the Samadhi, which they decided to give to gray because they were the strongest team out in the jungle.

Final Four

In a surprise move before the upcoming temple mission, the orange and yellow teams form a secret alliance, vowing to send gray or purple to the Temple of Fate should they win today's temple mission. The mission isn't easy however, as the teams must carry water to a tub until a cannon fires. Once the cannon fires, the players must go after the numbered ball, after all the balls are fired, J.D. will hold up a ball and the team with the matching number will win the temple mission! The gray team captured ball #3, orange ball #2, and yellow #1. Since purple didn't catch any of the balls, they would automatically lost the game. J.D. then help up the magic #2 ball, and orange would win the game! Their newfound alliance would hold strong as they would send gray and purple to temple. Unfortunately, the purple team would lose the game of fate and be sent home, breaking up the gray/purple alliance.

Create Your Own Game

The final three competed for the final Samadhi today in a game they created themselves! The day started when the eliminated purple team sent a letter to the remaining teams where they gave the Gray team their 3 pieces, meaning gray has a commanding lead with 7 pieces! The teams then set out for their next Endurance Mission where they would create their own game. J.D. told the remaining teams for todays final Endurance Mission and the final Samadhi, the teams would create their own game and set of rules using objects from their past missions. When J.D. came back later, the game the teams had come up with was this: One member of each team would guide the other blindfolded member to pick up 3 triangles within a roped off section. The team to get 3 triangles without touching any tiki dolls (they would lose any piece they were carrying if they would touch one) would win the mission. Only the gray team really got through the communication barrier and after a quick start and the yellow team hitting a tiki doll, the gray team would win! They then took revenge and gave the Samadhi to the yellow team, handicapping them for the final mission, instead of throwing the Samadhi out like previous seasons.

Create Your Own Game

The final three competed for a spot in the final two at the last Temple Mission! The day started when the teams were informed that this last mission would determine the final two teams of Endurance Hawaii! The Yellow Team however, would have a hard time winning with the Samadhi. The teams then set out for their final Temple Mission where they would compete in the chance to escape the final elimination. The final Temple Mission would be a game called Color Code which was this: Each team would try to figure out a color code by walking up a pathway of discs, however if they choose an incorrect disc they must start over. The first team to make it past all the rows with the correct code wins! Off to a fast start, gray went 4 rows without guessing wrong, but then met their downfall on row 5. The yellow team, who had an extra row, struggled, but as the gray team stumbled, the orange team hit big and came up from behind to win the mission! Later at temple, the yellow team's fate was sealed as no team had ever came back from Temple 3 times, and they went home. Who will win Endurance Hawaii, Gray or Orange?

Battle for the Pieces

The final two, Gray and Orange, competed for the last of the pyramid pieces left by the Yellow team. To win Endurance Hawaii, one team must end up with all 12 pieces of endurance at the end of the game. Which team would get the remaining pieces? The teams competed in their final Endurance Mission in a battle for the pieces. The day started with a letter from yellow saying how they hoped orange would lose because gray deserved to win! Luckily for orange, the teams would battle it out for yellow team's pieces in a mission that would go like this: Each team would have to navigate a raft to retrieve bags with pieces. The first team to finish the race and find the bag with the Luck piece, would win! With their continued arguing, it is easy for the gray team to grab 3/4 bags and finish the race first. The orange team opens their bag and finds they do not have the luck piece, guaranteeing gray a 10 to 2 lead for the upcoming finals. Who will win Endurance Hawaii? Find out next week!
