Movie Night at Endless Summer
Often we provide the opportunity to see a movie of one's choice in the Rec Hall. It is typically a movie on a DVD. We have the capability to show movies that are recorded on VCR tapes as well. Our residents are encouraged to bring their DVDs (or VHS tapes) with them when they come south. We also have seen some interesting travel tapes. For example, a few years ago , we watched a few tapes from the AMTRAK special train series. One of interest was a trip through the Rockies, where the scenery was spectacular and we saw pictures of places where no car had ever been or will ever be able to go. One other was a ride from New Orleans through Mobile, then on to Atlanta, Richmond and finally stopping in Washington, DC. Whereas, movie night is a relatively new event on our calendar, it is slowly becoming a popular "evening out" at Endless Summer. We encourage our residents to attend movie night and to bring along a classic movie for all of us to enjoy. Usually, someone will bring along a bucket of popcorn or a snack to nibble on during the presentation.
