| Training, especially if it's roleplayed out is good enough for xp.. Only 1.5 xp per session will be given. (rounded up) -A session being at least one day that the character spends of Logged training. -A Character can NOT be lounging about in the channel unless they are activly r/p out their training. 1.5 X 10 sessions = 15xp. 1.5 X 7 Sessions = 11xp (10.5) They need to do as many sessions as the xp requires New Discipline requires 10xp Therefore: 10 / 1.5 = 7 sessions (6.666~ rounded up) If they have a teacher, then they may get a total of two (2) xp per session.(Not 3.5) A Character may not teach themselves a new discipline, they need a teacher for this. The Only Disciplines a Character may teach themselves are Clan Disciplines and Innate Physical Disciplines (After the First level has been taught by a Teacher) Innate Physical Disciplines: Fortitude Potence Celerity TEACHERS: ------------- This way the ST's time isn't tied up with training. There will be a master list of approved teachers. The ST's will have a list of approved teachers. -Teachers must tell a ST op who they are teaching & how many sessions.. -The ST's then assign the xp for those sessions if they approve. -A teacher being anyone who has 4 dots or more in that area -Has a level head. (Actually keeps the teaching within practical limits) - If the Teacher is specialized, The ST (his/her discretion) may grant an extra .5xp in that field. (2.5 xp in total) TEACHING THROUGH ROLEPLAY: ----------------------------------------- Roleplay through the teaching, eg: Like when training one's childe in Presence or Auspex -The concept of the discipline (for each level) must be described including all the benifits and costs -These MUST be explained in game terms (not just the mechanics). -It is done over an appropriate length of time. (Gradual, you don't instantly know what every color of an aurascan means) If the teacher helps the student understand the true nature and power of the discipline they have learned, then they may be granted the xp needed to mark it on their sheet..(Thus bypassing the needed 'sessions', BUT this needs to be reported to an ST op for xp to be recorded on the sheet & a log of the experiance/rp may be asked/required) This both helps the teacher and the student learn the powers better. It's one thing just to say you are using such and such, it's another to have to explain it. ("Can you explain how do I make my eyes turn red again?") ***Remember the 4th Tradition, The Accounting. If you fail to teach your childe correctly... *weg!*** As well, chronicleing... AKA posting stories of what your character is doing while not RPing in the main channel on the message board in the IC section will also gain EXP between 1 - 5 depending on how good or detailed the story may be. If some RP requires dice rolls, such as using contacts and resources, contact an OP about it before posting, then cut and paste the dice roll log to the messageboard with the message. PS: Be realistic.... it is highly unlikely an Assamite will teach a Tremere their gift of Quietus.. for something like this there must be a damn good reason. |
