PETER WIGGIN
Peter Wiggin is the eldest of the Wiggin children.  He was the first to be monitored and showed great potential.  However, Peter was too uncontrollably violent and was rejected from the Battle School program.  His parents were asked to have a girl next, and Valentine was also very promising.  She was rejected as well, but for the completely opposite reason as her brother - she was too passive.  At this, the government authorized the Wiggin family to have a Third, and Ender was born.  He was created to be half of his brother and half of his sister, and the experiment succeeded.
So what does all of that have to do with Peter, you might be asking?  Everything.  Peter was jealous of Ender's birth, and even more so when Ender kept his monitor longer than either of his siblings.  Peter often took his aggressive tendencies out on his younger brother, frequently threatening to hurt or kill Ender.  Ender believed that Peter was innately evil, and may have very well been right.  Ender feared Peter, and Peter hated him.
When Ender is accepted to Battle School, Peter embarks on a quest for world domination.  He and Valentine begin to write articles on the net (similar to political forums on our internet) using the pseudonyms of Locke (Peter) and Demosthenes (Valentine).  They both write political pieces and begin to develop a powerful influence, since no one can see how old they really are.  Midway through the novel, much time is dedicated to Locke and Demosthenes, fully explaining their ideas and intentions.  Succinctly, Peter wants to take over the world.  He develops political connections, makes revolutionary political theories, and manipulates the minds of all those around him.
