| Alpine Butterfly Endangered - Alberta, Canada A growth spurt by Alberta's forests is threatening the province's rarest species of Alpine Butterflies with extinction. The foerst in Alberta's Rockies are growing about 200 meters higher up the mountains than they did in the 1950's, squeezing out the valuable meadow habitant needed for the Alpine Butterflies survival. Global warming is thought to be one of the main factors behind the the forest's new height. |
