Cat's Story Corner
This is where my first drafts are going. If I ever get published the ending and final draft is the reason to buy.
Entry for July 10, 2006 Sori made me do it

i think that would be a perfect title to a story. Cyn is it ok if i have you in here? sori is but she's not a siren like in pirates. she's human... but a former pirate nonetheless. and I'm finally a hero! *is always the villian in sori's stories. anyhow I have to give away the ending... sori wants me to write the ultimte evil story where evil wins no matter what. welly well then here's the prelude adn part of chapter 1. and trust me everything will be explained in due time.

for those of you who needs to know what pirates is... uh.... Pirates You may have to join Velvet underworld to read it. but hey it's a fun place to be.

Prelude

“Lets see. This doodad goes here. Then you bring the ring to the other end. Then the third step is you turn it over upside down, or was it you turn the world upside down? How would you manage that?” the girl looks at the magical object quite perplexed. “I guess I just answered my own question.” She laughed a small high pitched laugh and turns the object upside down in her hands. “Lastly you pull the doohickey through there and hold it over my head.” She shoves the silver mechanism over her bouncy golden curls. “And now time for the poetic demand to raise the Black Dragon Neri from the depths of the Great Abandon.”

Wings of dragons fly on

   Dreams of dragons dream on

   Life of dragons live on

Dragon once gone shall come again

I call out to Neri the Black

Come to my side to take control of this realm

A dark light emanates from the mechanism as it rises out of the young girls hands as she continues on.

From the Great Abandon to Faeith

I call upon thee to stand before me

The girl pointed to the ground; then moving her hand in an arch, she pointed to the sky and then right in front of her. Then where there was darkness the dark light was absorbed into the skeleton of a rather large dragon making it glitter in the darkness. The girl collapsed of exhaustion with a smile on her face as the spell completed. The first stage of waking the dragon was complete. The young necromancer would have a bit of time to rest before the next step.

Chapter 1

Kianthe stood on the edge of a steep cliff flanked by Sori and Cyn on either side of her; her sleek semi-short red hair was flowing in the wind as she took in a lay of the land. “Well I guess this is when we finally return home.”

Sori gave a curt nod. She had just spent the past decade as a captain of a ship named the Celestial. She still had the way of the sea with her. The way she wore her brown trousers with a white top and a black coat was in the style of sea farer. She had her hair in a short crop style.

Cyn looked out across the horizon. “Is it that little village not more than a half day hike?” he judged. His hair swept back when the wind changed direction and revealed the pointed ears portraying him as elf blood. His deathly pale skin marked him as a Drow.  A dark elf of the world, his skin used to be the bluish white that most of his tribe was, but 6 years as an assassin on the Celestial left its mark on him.

Kianthe nodded, “Yup. There’s a switchback trail down the cliff. But if you follow Sori carefully enough she’s one of the few who knows how to jump down the cliff.” Kianthe smiled slightly. “I’ll follow you. In case you fall.”

Sori walked back to the camp that was set behind them and grabbed her sword and pistol and put them on. Sori had a grim expression on her face. She was wondering what everyone would think of her. She left the town 11 years ago to find riches and glory. And all she ended up with was some gold and wild tales. Alright, her gold amounted to a lot and was stored in the temple banks along the coast. But, what of glory? She was a pirate. She couldn’t believe there was much glory in that, even if it was fun.

Kianthe put a hand on her sister’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. What ever you have done can’t be much worse than what I did.” Sori and Cyn had met up with Kianthe at the last town’s tavern. Kianthe had joined the Royal Drakes. She was on a spy mission and was returning with valuable information and since town was on the way and she promised that she would come back to see her sister. She was quite surprised to see that her sister had also left shortly after her. “Although, I was wondering, what’s going on with our house?”

Sori blushed. “I left it in good hands.” She gave a nervous laugh. “Yep good hands! Let’s just hope that the good hands left some stuff there.”

Kianthe just sighed and finished putting her armor on. After she put the pistol and daggers on, she slung her quiver and bow over her shoulder. “Are you ready Solaria?”

Sori winced at her full name. “It’s Sori now, sister.”

   Kianthe just shrugged. “Move along.”

Sori walked to the cliff. “Let’s go Cyn.”

While the girls were getting ready Cyn had already gotten ready before they looked over the cliff and he just stood there looking out over the landscape. Home for him was beneath the ground in the caves. He would never be welcome there again. They would take one look at his dark features and kill him on site. The sun had done much to his blue pale skin. For the whiteness of his skin was a tan to the Drow. He was starting to act human as well. Emotions were devoid in the Drow they are considered a dark breed, made just for war.

Emotions just got in the way. And so emotions like love and compassion were breed out. And being around Sori had confused him much. He knew of the girl’s affections and saw it as beneficial to his cause. What he didn’t foresee was the weird feeling that blossomed beneath his chest every time she looked at him in a certain way.  No he couldn’t believe he was in love. We are not made to love, period.

He heard Sori call out to him telling him to follow.
