My Child

Childs Games and Masquerades.

Make believe and Hide and Seek.

Childhood dreams and Fantasies.

Fairy tales and what we'll be.

ABC's and 1, 2, 3 's

Won't you come and play with

me.

Cinderella to romance novels.

Hot wheels to racing cars.

We are children it is plain to see.

Adults we have to be.

Wanting to grow up so fast,

thinking it will be a blast.

When we do, the years roll by,

Assuming they will last.

So wary not my child, for you

will see growing up,

isin't all it is thought to be.

Stay my child, just for a while

longer. Enjoy your youth, while

you are young.

For soon enough, you will be

saying these same words to

your offspring.

As I watch you laying still,

sleeping like an angel babe.

My only regret, is that when

you wake, another day has

come closer to your being

on your own.

All I can do is greet each

new day, with a smile upon

my face.

And whisper in your ears as,

I greet your day with a big

bear hug.

I love you, My Child.
