Crystal Tears

Daddy told me, he loved me, right before he

walked out the door.

Said to me as his big blue eyes, looked down

into mine.

He said "baby, you'll always be my little girl.

Your daddys pride and joy.

Don't forget to say your prayer each night

before you go to bed.

You'll be my little angel and guide me safely

back home again.

As I hold your little soft hand in my callused

manly ones. I feel your strength, and know

you'll be there for your ma'.

She needs you now to be strong as I walk

through the door.

Not my choice to leave my family, its just

somethin' I must do.

For your ma and I, we have our problems,

and soon I hope we'll be together again.

But until then, little darlin, wipe those crystal

tears away.

I promise you, someday we'll be together again.

Just wait and see.

Now run along, as I leave, be strong for me".

As I turned to go to my ma, I stopped and ran

friend, oh please don't go away".

But he looked with tears in his eyes, and said"

be strong for me".

Then he closed the door and drove away.

That was the last time I saw his face, my daddy died

that night.

Daddy, please don't go away, your my best friend my

pa and I love you so. Daddy please come back to me,

I am waiting here for you.

I love you Daddy.....

And then I heard him whisper:

"Wipe those crystal tears from your eyes, little darlin

I am here, right by your side. For always and forever.

Your daddys little girl, my angel has brought me home

where I belong".
