MERRY CHRISTMAS

Somehow I saw this coming... Take a peek at this. Ty is asking his public whether or not he should continue. I cannot wait to see how this poll turns out. The voting will cost 5 cents per vote (he wants to prevent people from voting multiple times to sway the vote). I, for one, will be giving my 5 cents worth of an opinion. I am sure most avid collectors of beanies feel the way I do. Whenever a new beanie was announced, you felt an excitement. You needed to see it for yourself. And even if you couldn't buy one because you were too late, you enjoyed seeing it with your own eyes. It is funny how a little piece of cloth and a bunch of pellets can make a person feel, but in this crazy world, we all need a bit of joy in our lives.

A bit premature, but ALL the Beanie Babies were retired today. Take a look. Here, we thought we had until New Year's Eve before Ty emptied all the warehouses. We thought wrong.

Well, tomorrow is another day, and supposedly another BIG announcement. Let's see what happens.

December 15, 1999
Saw this one early this morning...

A VERY IMPORTANT GLOBAL NEWSFLASH WILL BE MADE ON DECEMBER 24, 1999. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!!

TY WARNER

We already know that there are no beanies after New Years Eve. What could this be? Do you know? Tell us.

December 12, 1999
Here's an odd one... Normally, our weekends have been free of changes on the Ty Beanie Web site. But today was different. Today, Sunday, there was a newsflash. Chip, Gobbles, and Spinner Buddies are officially retired. Do the web page editors get time and a half on the weekend?

December 10, 1999 late edition
Beanie Buddies Jake and Peking are retiring today. We wish them the best of luck. What else does Ty have in store for us? Is he retiring all of the Buddies along with the Babies?

THIS REALLY IS THE END OF BEANIES
Submitted by Cindy Mills
This was on the info Beanie last night - Wednesday December 8, 1999 on
8:49 p.m.

"We just found out what the important news was that our friends at Ty had
to tell us! We found out that when we all retire on December 31, there
will be no new Beanies to replace us! Can upi believe it! I just can't
imagine the playroom without any Beanies in it! I asked our friends at Ty
what's going to happen to all of our toys and games. They said that they
would donate them to the shelter. I guess that is a good thing. Oh my
foodness! I just realized something! I really am the last ever Info
Beanie! Gee, that makes me a little sad. I'm going to go and talk to the
other Beanies and see what they all thing about this. I'll talk to you
tomorrow. Good night!

BUT WAIT...SOUNDS LIKE A PARTY IN THE NURSERY IS PLANNED FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE

This was on the infor Beanie this morning - Thursday, December 9, 1999 at
8:14 a.m.

"...They are going to start cleaning out the nursery today. It will be
nice to see the nursery again. Once we're released from the nursery we
can't go back in. I remember some of what it was like but it seems like it
was so long ago that I was there. It would be cool if all of the other
Beanies that have lived here could see it too. Maybe we could have a New
Years Eve party and invite them all to come back?"

Then this was on the info Beanie this afternoon - Thursday, December 9,
1999 at 2:41 p.m.

"Our friends at Ty thought it was a great idea to have a big party for all
of the Beanies that have lived here!..."

So while this does look like the END of Beanies. There will most likely
be something new in the Nursery on New Year's Day! How exciting!
