The gods of Enaronia do not make a habit of visiting mortals, and their existence is no guarantee. For this reason, there can be some variation in different cultures—and even some variation from person to person—of interpretation of religion, although all worship the same pantheon. Presented here is general information about each.
People on Enaronia generally revere the entire pantheon, and typically respect Jonas and Jartha above all of the others even if they choose another patron. These two are husband and wife, and are the overdieties of the pantheon; most of the other gods are their children.
A cleric may take both Jonas and Jartha as his or her deity and worship the two as a closed pantheon, and the same applies to Ari and Ria, goddesses of Life and Death.
While the creation myths of most of the races on Enaronia feature a major creator god or goddess, there are no racial deities. For example, Medli created the dwarves because she wanted a race to be at home in her mountains, but she did not become their special protector or expect anything from them. Dwarves do have a slight tendency over other races to choose her as a patroness, but the race as a whole does not claim her as such, it is entirely an individual decision.
Although it certainly does not apply to all creatures, the creations generally regarded as most successful, the common races, are not true creations of the younger gods but adaptations of the humans that their parents first created. |
