| PROCEDURES | ||||||||
| 3-Step Approach to Writing the Correct Heading on a Paper: | ||||||||
| Each student will put their first and last name on the upper right hand corner of their paper. Under the name will be written the course name and period. The date goes directly under the date. The assignment or essay number is to be written directly below the date. This is the format for a correct heading of every paper turned in. I will draw a model of a piece of notebook paper on the chalkboard and demonstrate the correct heading. Everyone in the class will get out a blank sheet of notebook paper and rehearse by following the directions laid out before hand. While the students work on the new procedure, I will walk around the room and provide guidance as needed. Reinforcement will take place every time students have an assignment and/or essay due. If a student turns in an assignment or essay with the wrong heading, I will simply return it to the student and calmly ask him/her to correct the heading. |

| 3-Step Approach on Restroom Passes: | ||||||||
| Students are expected to use the restroom between classes. On the rare occasion that a student must go to the restroom, 3 free passes are allowed in a 14-week period. No bathroom passes will be given the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes of class. Only one student is allowed to go to the restroom at a time. When a student must have a pass, he/she is to raise their hand. After I have acknowledged them, they may ask to have a restroom pass. I will have the student come and sign their name on the Restroom Pass Record book, after which I will give them their hall pass from the top file cabinet. I will show the class the record book and where to sign their name and put the date and time. After the student has returned back to the classroom, they are to place the hall pass in the top file cabinet. A volunteer will follow the instructions set forth and show the class the correct procedure of obtaining a restroom pass. One or two more volunteers will demonstrate the procedure for the class afterwards until satisfactory is achieved in the rehearsal if prompting is needed. Reinforcement will take place as needed for each student. For instance, if a student asks me at the beginning of class if they can go to the restroom, I will remind them that no passes are given the first 10 minutes of class and to raise their hand at the appropriate time. |
