An Empty Desk

I
An empty desk,
A broken heart,
Tears and crying,
A finished start,
A child is gone,
To our disbelief,
Who knew an empty desk,
Could cause so much grief,
Another blown nose,
One more goodbye,
Humans are mortal,
But children should never die,
You asked who was saved,
But you dont really care,
Because any answer gotten,
Would by one less than you wanted to hear,
Social rejection,
Must seem like an abomination,
Or at least it does to an empty desk,
And a grieving nation.
II
An empty desk,
A person made stronger,
Tears and crying,
That shouldnt last much longer,
A child is safe, and to our disbelief,
Who knew an empty desk,
Could save so much grief,
Another dried nose,
One more thought,
Because of this,
My friend shall never be forgot,
At I look at this empty desk I smile,
And sigh no more,
Because saving another persons life,
Is a cause worth dying for.
