BRIGHTON � At least one person is dead after an accident that took place on State Route 30 Thursday.
The accident in the Town of Brighton involved two cars at about 4:35 p.m., Ray Brook-based State Police said.
As of late Thursday night, the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were still at the scene of the accident conducting an investigation.
State Police said at least one of the vehicles was badly burned, which hindered their ability to identify one deceased victim.
In addition, State Police would not release the number of other occupants, their identities, injuries or other details.
The investigation is ongoing and more information is expected today.
