| My Life in EMS
I decided to become an EMT after I was the primary care giver for my Grandpa who had cancer. After he passed away I wanted to help other people they way the EMS system helped my Grandpa and my family. So I enrolled in EMT classes. I became an EMT in April 2000. I wish I would have never waited as long as I did to become an EMT. I love what I do. Making a difference in the life of someone in need is very important to me. |

Firefighters Prayer Written by William L. Summerville After America's Tragedy on September 11, 2001 A member of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department Chicora, Pennsylvania God, please bless these souls, of those in such harm, laying their lives, when they hear the alarm. Protect them when they, go into the blaze, keep them in peace, out of the haze. We're here to protect, and save for your will, thanks to you Lord, the emptiness you fill. Giving us strength, and power to live, in times of such danger, letting us give. We give all we can, throughout the daze, living the life, of a Fireman's haze. We fight for you, the one that gives life, protecting the weak, with all of our might. We ask in you Lord, Savior of man, lead us to truth, to do all that we can. May Jesus protect us, through all of our tears, through all of the pain, through all of our years. AMEN |

LORD, Grant me the wisdom so that I may treat those of your children that lay at my feet. Let my hands be gentle, sure and swift to impart to them your sacred gift. Let me see only a patient's need not their color, race or creed. Help me always to be my best even when it's on my hours rest. Grant me the insight to understand why patients of mine are going to die. Let me remember that when they do there is a wonderful life in Heaven with You. Lord, if in the time of duty I should fall help my family to hold their heads tall. For it was You who decided that I should be one of your chosen few, an EMT. -Author Unknown- |
