| Jonas is our hero in "The Giver". He's an eleven years old boy at the beginning. He gets older by one year during the book. He has parents and a sister. Her name is Lily. His family earns a little twin boy for a little amount of time, the baby is Gabriel. Jonas is an intelligent, inquisitive and talented boy. His best friend is Asher, a lively and funny boy. He also has an old friend too, The Giver. He helps him to realize the truth. Jonas has pale eyes. In his community this is not something usual. After earning the memories, Jonas wants everybody to know the truth. Lois Lowry made a great ending to the story, it's left to the readers minds. There are two choices to believe. The end is related to the first memory Jonas received. Jonas and the little unlucky baby that he carries will die or they will live in the world we know.This is not a common property in the books world. I congratulate the author for this. |
