A very strange Carmen Sandiego/the Prisoner fusion by Erin Mills AUTHOR'S NOTES This one is going to take a little explanation... Once upon a time (Okay, 1968) there was a unique television series broadcast on CBS called "The Prisoner." This series was a combination sci-fi/spy/adventure/drama series which detailed the escapades of the hero, known only as Number Six, as he attempted to escape from a very beautiful prison called The Village. Number 6's constant adversary was "The New Number Two," the head "warden" of the Village, the identity of whom changed every episode, the idea being that if the current Number 2 failed to get the reason for Number 6's resignation (or whatever other goal he/she/they were assigned to get) they would be replaced. The series ran for 17 episodes and covered quite a wide range of topics of a sociological nature. This series is now considered a cult classic. This fanfic series is going to take the characters of the animated series "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?" and place them in a similar environment, with Carmen herself taking up the mantle of Number Six, and the other characters making appearances here and there, in various roles. See if you can guess who's who from the descriptions as only Carmen will be referred to by name. However, a little rejuggling of history is in order to make this series work. In this series, Carmen leaves Acme, but before she can begin her career as the world's greatest thief, she is sidetracked by an unexpected trip into the Village. As for what happens next...well, you'll just have to read and find out, won't you? Enjoy! Erin Mills "I am not a number, I am a free man!" ---Number 6.
